My daughter picked up so quickly on proper form and can now do many skills she was unable to learn at her prior gym. Coach Kelly pays close attention to all the tumblers in her class and ensures their safety, and is supportive with lots of high fives. She's also made herself available for private lessons which really helped my little ones confidence in class. And it's more expensive to have this girl just sit around with ur kids and be on her phone and try a couple things every now and then. We were looking for a place to continue practicing high level tumbling, after stepping away from…read morefull gymnastics, and the gym not offering dedicated floor/tumbling at the time. Shows Texas Storm offered tumbling level 4+, after going to a trial, we quickly realized there wasn't actually emphasis on high level tumbling. Tumbling class could only be performed in a sliver of the gym. The coach was great and seemed excited to work with my daughter, who was much more advanced than the class. He did explain that there will be more opportunity to practice tumbling on the actual floor, so we decided to move forward. I tried registering for the class, it said to call. I called, no answer, left messages- no call back. I suppose if you are interested in the tumbling aspect- high level tumbling class I'd just find a gymnastics gym that has the space and time for tumbling class. They will be better fit for high level floor/tumbling etc. and the needed space if it's offered. Mostly the class skill was not high level or even as they called it level 4+, however we were willing to give it a try with the coach that seemed interested to work with a skilled athlete. The lack of communication ultimately helped us realize that it wouldn't have been a good fit.

Unfortunately, things changed after a new coach named Val was hired. At first, I tried not to judge and wanted to give her a fair chance, but over time I became very uncomfortable with the way she interacted with the kids. I noticed her making disappointed facial expressions toward them and speaking negatively about children behind their backs, which I found very unprofessional and upsetting as a parent. We really did not want to leave because my daughter loved so much about this gym, but after this experience we felt it was best to switch elsewhere. Overall, I would still recommend this gym because the majority of the staff and programs are wonderful. However, I do hope management addresses concerns regarding Coach Val, because otherwise this easily would have been a 5-star experience for our family.

However, I was shocked to find that my child was not only UNSUPERVISED, but that the individual responsible was not wearing a mask and was on his phone. A gym is a place with a lot of dangerous equipment and opportunities for children to get hurt easily - that is why they are paid to supervise our children! At this point, it has been months since the mask mandate has been in place and the staff DO NOT WEAR MASKS. The front desk does not try to hide this fact as they hang their masks over their foreheads without covering their noses/mouths. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. It is unsafe for your family.

Look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble.

My daughters have been at Champions for 4 years and are now part of the EPIC Elite Cheer program…read more I asked my girls to describe the program, and one said that "The coaches make us work very hard, but they make it fun." The coaches are positive and focus on safety, and there is a sense of mutual respect between coaches and athletes. There are a lot of optional extra classes in tumbling, flexibility, jumps, and stunting; my girls would go to the gym every day if I let them. The community at EPIC Elite is great - there are fun, positive parents which makes team bonding events a pleasure, as opposed to a chore. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The new program started at the beginning of the summer, so I'll update when we're a little further into the year. As a new program, some of the processes and communication are still being ironed out, but the pros far outweigh the growing pains.
