I've been living in Fort Lauderdale for a bit over 2 months now. Right after I moved here, I went to a salon and the hairdresser didn't do exactly what I wanted for the cut/color. Since Source Salon is really close to my apt, I decided to give them a try and after reading the great reviews, was confident that I would not be disappointed. Called in and they booked me with Kelsey McHale. She is awesome! Not only she took the time to listen to what I wanted, she went above and beyond to make me really happy with her work. Couldn't recommend her highly enough! We went from a boring cut and color to a "wow" blonde with fun layers. Also, for the first time in my life, my hair is neither dry nor tangling easily after the shower. Aveda's products are really super gentle! The salon is also beautiful... high ceilings, super clean, with a contemporary design and love the fact that they are open until 8pm during the week and until 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. In regards to the prices, I found them reasonable. The only thing is, you have to pay tips in cash. Also, I forgot to use it, but they have a $20 off coupon for first time clients on their website (under Specials), for you to print out. Super recommend this salon and Kelsey! read more

I almost forgot to write a review but now, one month later, upon getting out of bed and looking at my hair, I realized again I HAVE A GREAT HAIRCUT! It was great when I got it and it's gotten even better which is soooooo nice. Yes, it's Katie! I had tried to book Katie at another salon several months earlier and as we got to talking, I figured out it was the same Katie, she had left the salon I called but I was incredibly lucky to find her here at Source. She is professional, savvy, sweet and she knows what you want. I wanted highlights, bright and not ashy. (She uses the term honey which is perfect.) My highlights, my hair was transformed into just the spectacular look that I wanted and she gave me such a good cut, and also some good tips on how to style it. Love the simple modern look to the salon. Everyone is extremely professional & kind during your experience. FYI entrance is in the back closest to the plazas garage (for your convenience!) I was hesitant to begin balayaging my hair (b/c it was colored black.. literally black! ) but Angel has completely transformed my hair! I will never let another soul touch these locks! I called the salon a few days ago to make my first appointment and specifically asked for a JUNIOR stylist. I went in today very excited, got my hair cut, and when I went to pay I was surprised at the cost as I had seen how much a junior stylist would be. I questioned the cost and the woman explained that I had a master stylist, and that the receptionist who made my original appointment was new and made a mistake. Since the mistake was on their end they should have honored the price that I was told. I was very excited to find a salon that I could walk to, but after this I will not be returning. read more

I have been going to both Source Salons in Wilton Manors and Flagler Village since 2010 and highly recommend Haley! She accommodates all my requests from tinting eyebrows to Aveda tea. My color and cut is easy and straightforward but I really realized what a talent she was when I moved 5 hours away and still plan to have my hair done on return visits instead of in my new city. I have been using Source Salon and doing my hair with Majken Smith since 2010 when I first tried her as a recommendation from a colleague. For 7 years now of doing my hair only here I am happy and happier. And my hair looks fabulous (as per friends and colleagues, and my own opinion). I am blonde with long hair, so it's not an easy task for Majken to keep up with my expectations;) I want bangs- I don't want bangs; I want solid color- now I don't want solid color; I want short hair and now I want long hair... Majken is not just my hair dresser, she has become my hair stylist. When I moved to Asia for 1.5 years, I was still timing my "hair schedule" to come back and do it with Majken. The salon itself is amazing and they make you feel like a VIP. All of the them! From the front desk to the hair assitants, to the owner. Plus they do fun stuff like fundraisers, clients appreciation days (massage and cookies were to die for), and wine relax nights. Source Salon is Aveda salon and that alone should be a reason to consider these guys. Aveda products are the best if you want natural healthy hair (even if you color they have products to help reduce the damage, plus their colors are less harsh). Tested on me. I live in Miami downtown and I drive here to do my hair. Why? Because these guys are simply awesome and Majken is the only person I trust my image, look and style. Big mistake going to this salon! I went in just wanting her to get rid of some length and have it fall nicely on my shoulders, which I said several times. I don't understand where the disconnect happened, because I walked out looking like Carol Brady! Angel butchered my hair and it will take me months just to get it to look decent. The girl at the front desk could care less that I hated my hair and they just couldn't wait to get me out of there, despite me being horrified by my cut. This experience was fantastic! I do not like to spend a lot of time on trying to tame my long, curly hair and deal with the frizz that inevitably comes with the South Florida humidity. I used to just wash, rake mousse through my hair, scrunch, and go. But it always came out frizzy anyway. Plus, I visited salons infrequently. Rob and Source Salon changed all that. He sat me in the chair, listened to what I wanted (just a cut), studied my hair, and offered his idea on what would be best. He gave me the best haircut I ever had! He patiently taught me step by step how to best care for my curls! No stylist had done that before. I have gotten many compliments on my hair now. I love it! I hadn't been to the hair salon in years before I walked into Source Salon yesterday. Right when I walked in I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist, Crystal. I was going in on a last minute decision to add some blonde to my hair. I was directed to Kelsey, who talked me through exactly what I should do to get the look I wanted, which was a balayge. She said she could start on me right then, no waiting time. We got right to work and she spent so much time and effort to make it perfect. Hair cuts are amazing, however the dye does not hold at all. Was suggested that they put temporary dye in my hair for whatever reason and it washed out within a week. Went back (paid AGAIN) and had permanent dye put it and it faded almost as quick. Great place if you're looking for a cut, but go somewhere else for color. read more

I've been a client of Source Salon since 2015 (Wilton Manors and then Flagler). I loved the service at Wilton Manors but ever since I switched to Flagler, I feel their quality of stylists has slowly deteriorated. I got a haircut today and as you can see one side is so much longer than the other. Haley curled my hair after the cut and I mentioned please check the length on both sides because in the past I've had to come back to get it recut so that the ends are even. I insisted she check and she did and she said it's all good. Upon coming home, I straightened my hair and the results are shocking. My left side is over 2 inches longer than the right. I'm so sick of always having to go back for them to fix it. This will be the 3rd time this has happened. I hope they either train their stylists well or just go an extra step in checking their work without disappointing their clients. I will not be returning to this salon again. read more
