Innovated hair designers needed. Each stylist charges their own haircut price but the website avoids the honesty to advertise it as such. The advertised prices are incorrect, they are actually higher. I have short hair and did not like my haircut, yet I was charged $85 plus tip which the receptionist loudly asks. I have been here before for a wonderful artist that my coworker boasts of and I myself always had a wonderful experience with her, however I recently decided to put my faith in a color artist to help me along my "blonde journey". Before getting into my hair treatment I want to address the customer service- unable to remember names, passively calling me "my friend" the entire time. I work in beauty and if we can't remember a new clients name we double check in the back as we are doing our services. I felt like another number. The result of having my hair done here- it was rushed in that the stylist was pushing to have me out of his chair avoiding styling or drying hair. Also needed me to come back in to complete his service. A few days post service my hair is yellow and ginger and breaking off in heaps. It is entirely dead and quite honestly I was told I was "all over the place" during consultation and felt slightly judged by my stylist and the receptionist alike very unfortunately. On top of having a very sub par and arguably negative service the customer experience was just uncomfortable. Night and day from seeing the lovely female stylist I had been seeing for my trims in the past. Being taken care of at another salon, where the care of my hair is of the most importance and the stylist makes me feel like I am wanted there and cared for. Over all disappointed with my experience with my color journey at source salon. I have positive energy and that's all I expect from others in the beauty industry. Break up with your current stylist and run, don't walk directly to Haley's chair! I moved to Florida a year ago and I was nervous about finding a new stylist. Haley made me feel welcome, she listened to what I wanted AND executed every single visit. She took my hair from a bleached brassy blonde (yuck) to a professional brown, ombré style and now we are going back to a healthy blonde. She is fast yet efficient as she knows I don't have much time. She is friendly, funny and professional. I have received so many compliments already on my latest cut and color. Unfortunate review update due to lack of customer service and stylist professionalism. I firstly want to say I really liked this salon, I always went here when I visit Fort Lauderdale. Writing bad reviews is not my thing unless I feel there is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. I attempted to contact the salon directly over Instagram, but no response so here I am. I had an evening consultation appointment with Alex, and it was quite an insult of my time and energy. Alex was unprofessional and tardy to the appointment with no meet and greet. A great start. Jumped right to it and explained I wanted to grow out my platinum blonde hair and go for a natural grow out look, pretty simple fix.. maybe some vertical highlights/balayage just at my 4in outgrown roots with toner I'm guessing. But Alex quickly told me she could not give me what I wanted because she could not formulate my natural hair color and my hair was too compromised to work with at all except for treatments. Alex went on to say even the blonding specialist at the salon would struggle as well and would cost what she assumed I didn't have to spend. Alex was quick to judge my hair and started to play with it to see if it would stand up on its own, which made me feel pretty uncomfortable. Word of advice, maybe don't mock your clients hair ? I tried to explain to her that I just got back from vacation and it feels more dry than usual because of crappy hotel shampoo and conditioner which I had not planned for. I felt the need to further explain that I do use professional products, and how much effort I put into my hair. I had taken a 5 month break and I've been patiently waiting. So it really upset me that she disregarded me, my hair, and my efforts. The back to back comments on how damaged my hair was, pointing out gray hairs I didn't know I had and insisted I had a chemical cut.. (which isn't true because like I've said, I haven't lightened my hair since November and just chopped 4 inches of my hair two months ago) had crossed a line. It was so obvious she just didn't want to do my hair and was ready to leave for the end of the day. Alex made me feel like I was impossible to work with and not worth the time or effort. Alex never recommended anyone else to help me except when she gave me her Instagram card to look through her profile and see if I find anyone somehow ?? Wtf The lack of professionalism, and no consideration for a possible client is astounding. Alex's only advice was to go to Sally's beauty and figure it out there. So sad a stylist with such little care works there. I was ready to spend 350$ for a simple balayage root touch up of some kind, I was pretty opened minded and didn't need an exact color to match my roots. Which probably didn't even register to her because of consistently cutting me off, insisting she could not do my hair. I respect stylist being honest to clients when they are not comfortable doing a service, but Alex was not professional about it. Such a shame, but wasn't meant to be and I don't recommend Alex to new clients until there's some customer service training. read more

My hair has never looked better before meeting Haley. I have coming back religiously for 4 years. Before seeing her, I had an unfortunate not cute chunky highlight situation. She blended my highlights into a gorgeous balayage. Due to my schedule, it was hard for me to come back so often but she recommended a shadow root so my hair would grow out and still look great. Sometimes I wanted to switch up my hair without making too big of a significant permanent change and she always is able to do that whether it's a different cut or toner/gloss. She is also super friendly and easy to talk to so it feels like my appointments feel like they are going by quicker. UPDATE: After a bad experience with one of the stylist the owner of Source Salon called me and let me freely express my concerns. He listened to me and offered me a full refund. Honestly, the care and dedication he has for his business is amazing and I could see myself returning, maybe just not with the same stylist. DO NOT GO HERE ! If you want to feel belittled and talked down on, I would recommend choosing another place. I got my hair done here and the layers I got were terrible for my hair shape. I liked it at first when it was styled but when I got home and washed it, all the mistakes were highlighted. A couple months later I decide to go in and the stylist I previously saw no longer worked there. I got put with Ryan. I was excited to see what he could do because he said it takes a "professional" to fix my hair. He maybe made four touch up cuts to my hair and was like "Ta-da" it's done. I thought he was joking. He told me how bad my shape was at first and after four cuts and a styling it's fixed? I expressed that I was nervous it might still be bulky and the concerns I stated in the beginning of the appointment and he INSTANTLY became defensive and rude. He said "maybe we aren't communicating correctly, and you're never going to be happy with your hair." I am literally sitting in a salon chair trying to communicate what I want and he's completely shutting me down. He finally took a pair of scissors and randomly started cutting DRAMATICALLY and it was a very uncomfortable feeling. He then charged me $70 for my trim when the starting price is $40. I made the mistake of driving to Wilton Manors but my appointment was st Flagler Village. Luckily the two locations were only 10 mins apart. The receptionist was helpful and my stylist Erica was sweet and patient. Flagler location is right next to Colada and Mellow Mushroom in a nice new plaza. There's free street parking but not many. But there's also free parking garage. There's a joint door when you enter from the back side and the Source Salon door is on your right. Going in, you'll see it's a well lit space with a nice selection of Aveda products up front. The salon is very clean. My stylist Erica did a great job with my haircut. She was quick but detailed. She suggested since I wanted to grow my hair out, I didn't need to cut the full two inches I wanted. That was considerate of her. I also like that no one pushed me to buy products. Some things to take note of, the prices here are very affordable. First time customers however can print and use a $20 off coupon. Use Yelp Check-In to get a free gift. God hail the queen hair Stylist of all time Jeannie. I highly recommend her. If you step foot into this salon, I am telling you, Jeannie is the one to have her magical hands on your hair! I have extremely thick coarse curly long color treated hair and she knows exactly what to do with it without damaging and always helps to keeps the curls thick and healthy (even when I want extremely blonde hair). When I tell her exactly what I want she will also put in her expertise but also leave me happy and let's just say I am not the easiest client to please! She's amazing at coloring whether it's to go super blonde, fill it with dimension or go dark. One time I got a little brave and decided to dye my own hair and turned it purplish pink and I walked into the salon so she can save me and within less than two hours I was back to the natural looking blonde hair (she's fast too!). She is not afraid and she also gives you tips on how to maintain healthy hair as well. When I want a blow out, she makes my hair so straight and lively, you would never even know my hair is naturally curly when she blows it out. She does this without damaging the elasticity because she really genuinely cares about keeping your hair healthy. I also was thinking of doing extensions and she does that too.
