Sour Cellars - a flight of beer glasses - Breweries Near Me - Rancho Cucamonga, California

I had heard about this place from a few breweries that i visit within the area..since i love sour beers i decided to give this place a try. Sour Cellars is only open thurs thru sun, i went on a thurs they open at 5pm. This place is pretty cool on its decor..it has a relaxing atmosphere...Sour Cellars also has 16 brews on tap. The owners are very friendly and bar and taps are very clean. Now to the sours themselves...i tried quite a few of them, they are very clean, crisp and nicely tart full of flavors. I would definitely be coming back to this place when im in the area...if you've never tried sours before give this place a try read more

To start off I'm not a huge fan of sours but my boyfriend is so we came here and I gotta day as soon as I waked in I loved the ambience. It has such a dark vintage look that I absolutely love it. I had a flight and it was good. However next time I might do the smaller cups just because I am not a huge fan of sours and started to feel very parched so next time I'm definitely getting smaller cups for the flight if possible. They have water available for everyone (free) and the safe is amazing! Very nice they have a parking structure but it gets full there's a lot of parking available outside on the streets. if you're a sour fan you will love this place! My boyfriend already let me know we would be back haha read more

Loved this place. Decor was nothing I have ever seen in a brewery. Loved the beers. The belly washer was my favorite. Lady serving us so so sweat. Great conversation and even shared some jack fruit seeds with me and my wife. Definitely coming back. Recommend this place to any sour lover. Best in the area. read more

The negative reviews on here are from people expecting beers other than sours. It's called Sour Cellars for a reason idiots. Anyways, beers are good and the ambiance is nice and chill. And a bonus! There is a dog that frequents the establishment. read more

Sour cellars has such a welcoming environment! Sadly we weren't able to sit and enjoy a sour but the woman (I wish I would've got her name) is so sweet and informative. I love that we were greeted by their dog. I got the Ladida it's a mild sour and perfectly balanced, just the way I like it. Can't wait to come back! read more

We shared two flights with 10 different sour beers - all of them were awesome! Really cool seating and interior. There are non-sour beers as well. Looking forward to going back! read more

I've had this place on my bucket list so long I'm so glad I finally made it. I'm a complete lover of sours and I've never been to a place with such a vast selection! Upon entry we were greeted by a woman running the counter. She helped me out with my order. There was just so many options I couldn't get my order straight. I enjoyed her insight, she seemed to be quite knowledgeable when it came to the menu and sours in general. I've been to breweries where they stick a pretty face on the register and assume all is well. It's a no for me! Breweries need servers and cashiers who know their product and can make recommendations based off the customers flavor preferences. I got that experience here, and it's part of the reason I will be returning. The place was very low key, quiet not overly crowded at all. Not my typical experience at a brewery but refreshing nevertheless. Décor was cool, total retro vibe not your run of the mill table with a set of perfectly matching chairs. It gave the place character, sets them apart and it's something I admired. When it comes to the beer--absolutely no complaints. I had two flights and literally every single beer I tried I appreciated and enjoyed fully. read more

Love this place. Sours are like a craft beer art, not everyone can do it, and not everyone that can do it does it right. This place is on point with 11-12 sours on tap at all times. These take a minimum of 12 months to make, so your favorite flavor is limited. And because these are true craft beers, every batch may be different or a specific flavor may not be available again. The staff here is awesome and the owner/operators are a delight to talk to. I've heard people say this place is expensive. It's not. 1st of all the prices are about the same as any other brewery per beer. 2nd they are selling a type of beer at a quality level that other specialty sour brewers charge 2x-3x more for. And 3rd, the alcohol content is typically stronger in these sours compared to other craft beers. read more

Sour Cellers is a great addition to Rancho Cucamonga. It's not like your typical brewery that has a TV showing sports. It has more Of a "Moulin Rouge" Parisian style Decor. The sour beer is good, but they all sort of taste the same. They have a very mild fruity flavor, subtle sour flavor. It's mild compared to other sour breweries, like Libertine. They do a lot of sampling though. Prices are good.... Will be back. read more

I'm a huge craft beer drinker. I am not a big fan of Sours though. As my first time here, I gotta say that I actually liked their beer. They had so many sours to choose from. I recommend this place. read more

Stumbled upon this place last Saturday. We're not sour or goose lovers to begin with but we're venturing out now and this place was delicious. All their sours were top notch. The decor inside is really cool, my fiancé and I loved the ambiance. Service was great. We will go back soon. read more

Sour Cellars - Ballon juice was my favorite. - Breweries Near Me - Rancho Cucamonga, California

I'm a bit of a brewery neophyte, but this place was wonderful. Loved the baroque, gothic feel; incredibly comfortable and intimate. Definitely doesn't have that traditional "industrial business complex brewery" feel, more like a swank date spot-cum-brewery. But look, vibe aside, this place has OUT-STANDING sour ales. I'm a sucker for thoughtful fruit infusions, and I loved the tart punch on the boysenberry offering, and their peach ale was nuttier than the Dogfish Head Festina Peche, which is one of my all-time faves. So many hearts-for-eyes emojis for this joint. read more

Favorite is Bellywengins. The pomegranate syrup in it tastes like a jolly rancher. The 1st flight was perfect size and delicious. The decor is of a speakeasy. You can look into the room where they ferment and have all the barrels. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a bar sitting area and sitting room where you can play games. A flight is around 12.00. Make a stop and enjoy some sours!!!! read more

Sour Cellars - So fun! The barrels in the back - Breweries Near Me - Rancho Cucamonga, California

I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore and my wife isn't fond of beer, but a few years ago a friend introduced us to the sour beer Duchesse de Bourgogne. It was love at first taste as we were surprised at how much we enjoyed this strong-smelling yet mild-tasting beer. On our occasional nights out, we'd ask our server or bartender if they had it in stock, but only once did we luck out. Recently another friend of mine mentioned a sour beer brewery opening on New Year's Eve weekend so, of course, Mrs. G. and I had to check it out. Like that initial Duchesse de Bourgogne, it was love at first taste (and sight). Sour Cellars isn't your typical brewery selling its craft beers in an industrial space. They specialize in sour beers, which are fermented and aged in oak casks for at least 12 months. We sampled all 11 of their beers (one flight is five beers for $10, so we paid $22 for two flights and an extra taster) and were excited to discover so many tasty sour beers. We each had our personal favorites and the ones that stood out were the Gigglemug (golden wild ale refermented with starfruit), Jammiest Bits of Jam (golden wild ale refermented with boysenberry), Cat-Lap (dark wild ale refermented with syrah grapes), Sunburst (golden wild ale dry hopped with Mosaic, Sorachi Ace and Centennial) and the Darkle (dark wild ale aged in a second-use whiskey barrel). The tasting room was another pleasant surprise: it's not your typical industrial brewery interior. Instead, it's a Victorian-style interior with soft lighting and upholstered chairs. I've seen kegs converted into tables before, but here they've added little artistic flourishes to class it up a bit. On our first visit on New Year's Eve, it was a mellow and relaxed vibe with good music in the background. We got to chat with the owners a bit and they were friendly and down-to-earth. Sour Cellars is sophisticated without being stuffy; more intimate than rowdy. It's the first sour-beer-only brewery in the Inland Empire and joins a burgeoning Rancho Cucamonga craft beer scene with Hamilton Family Brewery, No Clue Craft Brewery, and Kings Brewing. Experiencing their stellar sour beers, tasteful decor, and relaxed atmosphere was like learning about the city's best-kept secret -- one that won't be secret much longer. read more

Had been wanting to check out Sour Cellars for a while and learned yesterday that they were now open on Thursdays so I finally made it. Glad I did. The sours they have on tap were very good. Including a collab sour they did with Hamilton Family Brewing. My personal favorite was the Darkle. The owners are really cool people as well. Since it was raining that night the tasting room wasn't too crowded so we chatted with them the whole time. Really nice place and I'll definitely be back. read more

After visiting Blue Owl in Austin, TX, I have been looking for a sour specialty brewery in the IE. Sour Cellars fits the bill with a variety of fruit infused, hopped, and/or traditional sour styles. The ambience is sophisticated but relaxed. I do wish they had food service, but can't hold that against them. Will be back! read more

Let me start saying that the place is BEAUTIFUL! It has like an Old School Bootlegger bar (as the boyfriend says)..Kind of a smaller version of the Edison in LA! The beers are all sours so if you love wine its a plus as well! Its like a beer and wine all at once! My favorites were the Darkle,Fairy Sparkler&the Enthuzimuzzy! Max Stars!! read more

I love sour beers and my husband and I love to try new sours whenever we're near a BevMo or a brewery that carries them. This place was alright.. I love little breweries but I have a few preferences that influence my rating. Things I liked: Their decor is very nice. About half of their beers were good considering I'm not big on sours. Things I disliked: their price: 22$ for two, five flight tasters. The woman bartender is the owners wife and she doesn't even drink beer. She pours from the tap that's set to pour the exact amount like the airport bars. Also there are no chairs. They at least need a few small tables with chairs and some bar stools! I probably wouldn't go back but if you like sour beer this place might be for you. read more

Tiny. Intimate setting. Quiet. I love that there's different varieties of sour beer. Some fused with wine and some fused with cider, a range from light to dark. They sell chips all well if you need a lithe snack. Place is dog friendly. You can bring kids but I wouldn't say it's kid friendly. read more

Here now. This place is comfortable and the Sours are great. The Darkel at 10.8 ABV is a must try. I definitely will be back.
