I got to the shop at about 6:30pm and they had run out of rice. I told girl at the counter that I would be back after she had made some more and suggested a time frame of 20 mins. I was told that no more rice would be made today so I had to go without. I made some rice at home, but wanted it Jamaican style, a style I cannot cook as well as the professionals. I ordered ackee and saltfish and curry goat with 2 dumplings and plantain. I went for the small option which was 5.50. I originally wanted the brown stew, but they had also run out of that. When I was given the food the assistant asked me if I wanted it hot. I scratched my head and said yes of course. I didn't fancy eating it cold and I don't own a microwave at home. She put my meals' in their individual cartons and blasted them in her industrial microwave, I had mixed feelings about this. I worried about the freshness, but I was excited by the smell the food gave off as it was heated. When I got the food home the taste and portions sizes were perfect, albeit without the rice. The taste of the dishes were incredible, I could count the flavours on my tongue. The food wasn't too greasy either, which was a relief to my arteries. The ingredients were as fresh as the interior design. So despite no rice and a long wait, I found the food to be superb. Next time I might come in the daytime, they do a lot of lunchtime custom. Popularity is always a precursor to good food. If they could speed up the service and have the food already hot then this take away would earn five stars. The food is definitely worth 5 stars in my opinion. However I can't give 5 stars for food alone, so I took one off for the lack of rice. read more
