There's a lot to be said for having a good lunch spot within walking distance of your home, so when my wife and I moved into the Sullivan's Pond area, we quickly took advantage of Souper Duper's proximity to us. The buffalo chicken soup was one of their daily specials, with a mix of cheesy creaminess and heat that contrasted well. A side of mac and cheese topped with Doritos (they have eight topping options!) was an indulgent addition to my meal, and that ooey-gooey cheese helped tame the spice of the soup. The noodles were supple and tender, and not at all mushy from sitting around in a warming tray all day like some spots. Conveniently, they also have a bunch of frozen soups to take home and keep for a rainy (re. too-lazy-to-cook) day. My wife and have tried several, including chicken and tomato bisque, potato and corn chowder, donair (!) and cream of mushroom, and the flavours are always fantastic! I have wanting to order from here for over a year, and today we did! I live it Sackville and got it delivered to us. The delivery was quick and the food hot and yummy. I had the half Ruben on rye with the tomato basil soup, I found the soup a bit salty but maybe its me because i dont use salt on anything. My youngest daughter had the corn chowder and the BLT, and enjoyed it very much. My other had the Beef and Barley and devoured every spoonful. I sampled all the soups and found filling and so tasty. I'm absolutely obsessed with the shortbread confetti cookies. They're so soft and chewy, the icing is delicious - not too sweet, just buttery perfection. I've tried the mac and cheese a few times - on it's own it's just average Mac and cheese. I've opted to add Doritos, bacon and hot sauce and found that to be the perfect combination! Think I'd give here a 3.5. Drove by many times on weekends and never stopped in, despite wanting to. After a recent review printed in the Herald, a coworker pointed it out to me again and I put it on the "to try" list. After driving to downtown Dartmouth on a sunny Monday in September to go to Evan's at Alderney, and discovering it was closed, we opted for soup at the last minute instead, since it's just up the street. Parking is in the rear FYI... don't mistakenly pull into the lot just after the property, which is owned by the condos next door. When you walk into the door, it seems a bit confusing at first bc there is no clear place to go. We didn't know if you wait to be seated or what. No actual counter/cash area. A small nook to the right with chairs and no table. Tables to the left, but just one big round one with seating for 6? And then you notice a few two-seaters by the front window. They are tight, and vs sitting very close to other customers, we opted for the big table. Then when my coworker went to sit down, the simple chair gave out beneath him and shattered. LOL Staff immediately came out to ensure he was ok, which he was. Replaced chair with a heavier wooden one. No big deal. The server advised us that Monday is Mac & Cheese day, where you build your own meal. Choice of toppings and sauces in a self-serve style, where you select what you want. Neither of us bothered with this and just ordered off the regular menu. I got the sandwich and soup combo (Turkey dinner wrap which was good, fresh and fast, made with stuffing and cranberry...great idea imo). The chicken noodle soup was good, very simple. My friend ordered a combo of the same wrap but with chicken nacho soup, which he said had lots of flavor and spice, with melted cheese on top. Coffee or tea is included here, and it's a self-serve Keurig. Definitely original. So I poured my own coffee. If you want to purchase a bottle of water, juice, pop, etc, it's in a fridge right there. Desserts are also pre-packaged and on a table, if you wish to grab one. Today looked to have a a carrot cake and some other kind of square. When I went to pay the bill, it seems we were only charged for my meal and there was no tip option since the "tap" pad was the only option presented. That confused me at the moment, but figure it was due to the chair incident. Today's visit was definitely unique and memorable, more good than bad. First off let me say that I am generally not a soup fan. I enjoy a more hearty meal typically, a meat and potatoes kinda guy. But one day I heard about donair soup on CBC and being a lover of all things donair I told myself I just had to try it. So first off thanks to Super Duper Soup for keeping it as a feature for a second week as I wasn't able to make it last week. Alright now that I have bored you to death...the verdict...the soup was great! I got a 16 oz. bowl and a butter biscuit to go. The soup was chock full of ingredients, plenty of ground beef, tomatoes, onion and mozzarella in a sweet broth. It's pretty much as the name suggests...donair soup! The biscuit was also worth the trip to this spot, just about melts in your mouth. If you are looking for a great meal quick that's just the right amount of filling stop in and give them a try, I bet you will not be disappointed. read more

On a cold winter day we decided to try Souter Duper Soup. The menu is limited. We had a soup sandwich combo but none of the soups or sandwiches seemed to pair with each other. We both had the Chicken Pad Thai Soup and a Chicken Basil Panini sandwich. The soup came out warm. Just warm. It was tasteless. Come on. Thai soup without flavor? The panini, my partner had one bite and said it was tasteless and chewy. We both boxed up our sandwiches and brought them home. They both wound up in the trash. Maybe it was a bad day. Every single soup I've ever tried from Souper Duper Soup has been excellent. I cannot rave any more about this place. This place makes great soups and salads, which I have been enjoying for lunch for the past few months. Tonight I picked up chicken enchiladas, salad, and carrot cake for take out on the way home. Excellent meal, with fresh tasty ingredients. Would definitely recommend! read more

While visiting from the states my parents and myself had the chance to eat here. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the conversation with the owners!
