The cashier and the cook were both very friendly and patient with all the questions we had about the different dishes. The have some unique jewelry pieces for sale, which I like. The store is clean inside, the bathroom is also clean, and there's a few couches and tables you can lounge at, or you can dine in. I think it's over 45 or 25 if your purchase you get a free dessert, but due to the fact that it is a vegan store and most vegan items are plant nut based and I am highly allergic to nuts. I could not partake but the offer was nice. There are two sides to the store. One to shop want to sit down and eat. There were a couple there sitting and browsing through the library, which is immense a good portion of the books that I would want to read I've already read and they were there and the atmosphere in the vibe was just so relaxing and inviting at the same time I can say some of the items are a little overpriced for my taste, but some things were not some things were by one get one free, but overall, the experience was pleasant. My husband and I enjoy supporting small, local markets and farms; especially those that remind us of home and our military roots, so it is extremely disappointing to share that our experience today left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. While selecting ears of corn, I picked up several that were already opened and set aside. I examined them only to understand why they had been separated. From across the aisle, an employee called out, "Ma'am, you can't open our corn here." I responded politely that I understood. She then approached me and asked, "Did you open all of these?" Her tone was accusatory, and the question itself was inappropriate. I clarified that the ears were already open when I picked them up. Instead of accepting my explanation, she continued lecturing me--repeating the same point multiple times despite my acknowledgment. She also stated that your corn is "fresh, just picked," which was factually incorrect given that the ears I was holding were ice cold. "Fresh, just picked" corn would be warm to the touch, as though it went directly from farm to stand. I mentioned that the opened ears had earworm. She replied that "there is nothing wrong with corn that has a worm; you just cut it off," and continued repeating the same reprimand I had already acknowledged multiple times. Despite my calm responses, the employee continued pressing the issue to the point that my husband stepped in, saying, "Okay, that is enough." The employee then told us, "Maybe you should go to Walmart to buy your corn." This comment was inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely unnecessary. At that point, we decided to purchase the four ears already in our bag, inform the cashier of our experience, and leave; spending only $5.00 versus our normal $60-$80 we spend each time we visit. Unfortunately, this interaction has led us to decide not to return to your market, which is genuinely disappointing. We value local businesses and the sense of community they provide, but the treatment we received did not reflect the welcoming environment we expected--or the positive experiences we have had over the past six years as regular customers. We drive from Yorktown specifically to buy your fruits and vegetables, but we will not drive to Sandbridge to be chastised and publicly ridiculed for something I did not do, and even if I had, I acknowledged your policy immediately upon being told. We found this shop and a beautiful (and pricey) piece of pottery in the front window that unfortunately I could not fly home with. Fast forward to today over 5 months later and it's still there. This time we drive and it was coming home. BUT... when I entered the shop the owner or employee was upstairs and when I said I needed help she continued to yell from above instead of coming down to the COMPLETELY EMPTY store. I explain I'd like to see the piece in the window and the she replies "Well I can't just take it out." I say "Even to sell?" She starts shuffling down stairs and muttering and says "I can't just take it out to look at" under her breath but loud enough for me to hear. Well that was it. We just told her not to bother herself and left. Enjoy your completely empty shop when it's closed because you can't be bothered to actually sell anything. And I agree with the owner... She had zero patience to actually sell anything. Not on the phone not doing anything but sitting upstairs and didn't want to be bothered. Just laziness. If you don't want to sell something big and can't be bothered to move it maybe don't put it in your display window or hire someone not rude and lazy. I try to shop local and support local businesses but if you don't want to be bothered and then LIE about it then you don't deserve the support. And if you were sorry you did a poor job of showing it.

I have been involved with New Earth since construction. The market sells produce, eggs, meat, vegetables, bread, flowers and more to the public. Everything available will be harvested from New Earth. Items will be sourced to their their three restaurants, Commune and Prosperity Kitchen & Pantry. The educational component such as Farm Table has been ramped up with the installation of a new kitchen. Cooking classes can be scheduled at www.newearthfarm.organd are for all ages and groups welcome. Other educational items that can be booked through their website are Farm Lab & Food Lab. I attended one of the workshops given here on tinctures and teas and such a few weeks ago with…read moreanother health conscious friend. We learned some cool new tricks and met some new people at the workshop. I was impressed with the little building where the training happened - it was a cold day after a snow and it was warm and toasty inside. I had no idea this farm was nearby (I live just down Nimmo) and spoke to the Training Director who informed me that they have tons of workshops on canning, vinegars, foraging and other things during the warmer months as well as an active farmer's market area where they sell lots of goods grown on their farm. I'll have to add this into my rotation for fresh veggies and new training!
