It is located prominently in downtown Tacoma, right along Pacific Avenue near the Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, and Chihuly Bridge of Glass. From the outside, the building is stately and eye-catching with its large, sweeping arches and brick exterior. From the inside, it's even more beautiful, though, with the largest collection of Dale Chihuly artwork in town - and it's completely free to come in and see it. Photo I.D. is required for entry. WOW WOW WOW! This is an incredible wedding venue option. I had a hard time finding a beautiful…read morevenue where I could have a caterer of my choice. This was one of the very few options I found online which allowed me to do this so we came by to take a look. We were blown away by this beautiful building. It is absolutely stunning. The Chihuly is spectacular and with the sun shining or setting, it always looks incredible in here. At first, I thought it was a downside that you have to rent all your own decorations and furniture. But this ended up being a blessing in disguise because it gave me the freedom to choose any type of decorations/furniture I wanted. We had the ceremony and reception, in reception style seating on the main level rotunda. I created dressing rooms on the bottom floor by setting up curtain walls near the back entrance. The balcony we used for taking pictures during cocktail hour. This was very nice because it was extremely hot outside and we were able to stay inside, take incredible pictures by the artwork and view, and be out of the way of the guests by being upstairs on the balcony. The balcony was also used to throw the garter from haha. It was nice for the guests to be able to roam around and view the artwork instead of being secluded in one area like most weddings. The staff here is incredibly helpful! Murray was the coordinator on duty that night and was sooo helpful. One downside is you have to take care of your own trash at the end of the night and he actually helped us load it in a truck since it was very heavy. Def not his job but still so helpful! The security is very friendly. Mary always answered my questions via email right away, as I had very many planning my own wedding. I had the wedding of my dreams, actually above and beyond my dreams here, I highly recommend.

Most of the patrons that use them bathrooms are the homeless and druggies to shoot up. They've got some security guards that do what their supposed to do and that is to walk the entire property daily during their shifts and some whom refused to talk and just stand around and talk to people and ignore others. I was there and have seen them and how they treat people. Other stations are much nicer then this one, also with nicer guards. If you can help it I'd try to catch the sounder at a different location.

We arrived on Cascade #504 and departed on Cascades #507. After arriving (about one half hour…read morelate) we headed immediately to Freighthouse Square for lunch. After lunch we returned to the station to see a familiar looking train in station. We were informed that it was the same train we had arrived on, Cascade #504. It was there because Cascade #517 had killed a trespasser a few miles north of the station and it would be at least an hour before it could leave. The station attendant kept us informed as the situation evolved. Meantime, we talked to other waiting passengers and used the very clean restrooms. Finally, Cascade #504 departed. A few minutes later Cascade #517 arrived and most of the passengers in the station boarded the train. About 15 minutes later, Cascade #507 arrived on Track 2 forcing us to walk to the nearby intersection, cross the tracks, and walk back to the train. We departed Tacoma over an hour late. Overall we were satisfied with our experience at the Tacoma Dome Station. Footnote: the equipment used on both trains was badly in need of upgrades.

Well, it smelled like drugs when I was finally able to access the bathroom 20 minutes after I showed up. So how was this handled? The bus driver I told to wait had to call security because I kicked the bathroom stall to get the drud addict out. Lucky for me he didn't leave. And the security that came didn't hassle me for doing what I needed to to use the facilities. If you're looking into work with a commute and it involves this bus line. It's not worth the savings. In my opinion you could get stabbed and they wouldn't care.

Cities such as Miami and Detroit have smaller people mover type systems just to handle the downtown core. Portland has the streetcar to augment the main light rail system. The Tacoma LINK is much like that Stars: 1. A sensible route covering the key spots in Tacoma's compact center - the Tacoma Dome, Amtrak (close enough), Univ. of Wash. Tacoma branch campus, the Museum of Glass, Union Station, the CBD and its major buildings, and up to the Theater District with some nicer and/or trendier restaurants, watering hotels, and entertainment venues near St. Helen's and Commerce Streets 2. Clean, (relatively) safe, frequent intervals, comfortable, and bubble gum colored train cars 3. No need for a car if working in downtown Tacoma or if visiting and staying at a downtown hotel 4. A step in the right direction in forging downtown Tacoma's renaissance 5. It's FREE - don't be looking a gift horse in the mouth! Note: Express buses to Seattle, the international airport, and the southern reaches of metro Tacoma (i.e. Lakewood) tie into this small but very useful rail link. Maybe one day the same link that connects Seattle to the airport will continue on to Tacoma but, at the moment, Sound Transit has bigger fish to fry.

I have used the Tacoma Dome Station a fair amount of times to use the bus routes going to downtown…read moreSeattle and Sea-Tac airport. Over all I got no complaints. The bus arrival times are usually punctual but not always but it's safe to say that they are fairly reliable. For downtown I kind of plan it out prior to see what Seattle neighborhoods I will be going to and if the Seattle light rail will cover those areas. If so, then this is a super efficient way to get around to where you want to go. And if I wanted to go somewhere where the light rail doesn't cover there definitely would be a bus but usually I am simply trying to make the travel route as simple as possible. As far as going to the airport? Super smooth practically every time. We get off at the Skybridge stop... I believe International Blvd. stop and once you are across the skybridge. Boom! There you are. Since it is Tacoma we are dealing with over the various times we have used this stop some minor security concerns arise with some people that loiter there and have no intention of using transit but we personally had no unfortunate experiences but I am sure plenty of unfortunate experiences do go down here.

There's also some cool places nearby, like the afternoon tea place around the corner and the Filipino restaurant up the hill. It's kind of a food ghetto over there and I'm all about that.

That station has a major parking issue so this allows commuters from Bonney Lake to have easy non stop access to the Sounder train(and an easy ride to downtown Seattle) and being able to park very close to home and not fight for parking in Sumner. Seems like a safe location and cars of any kind will be fine here. Not the easiest to get out of in the evening but hey, you can't have it all.

This is really the best way to go to Seattle though for Mariners, Seahawks or Sounders day games orr Seattle Storm day game (although that will take a transfer to get to the Seattle Center) It sure beats driving there and trying to find a parking spot, paying for the sport and of course fighting traffic!
