This review is for using the venue for a comedy show. It was our first time here and immediately upon walking in, we were disappointed. No seating at all! WTF? I've been to a lot of comedy shows and have never once stood through one until the one at Soundbar. The show was advertised at 8p. We arrived about 7:30 and were told the the doors opened at 8. The show finally started at 9p which is ridiculous as everyone was pretty much inside by 8:15p. Keep in mind, everyone is standing and waiting, so the hour delay made it worse! I don't know the reason, but most of the comedians were wandering around during that time, so they were there. Maybe the main guy was late, who knows. When the show started, it was better! Lot's of comedians and all were funny. Some of them commented and seemed empathetic to the fact we were all standing. By the end, we were sore and couldn't wait to get to the car to sit down! I'm sure the venue is perfectly find for a rave, acoustic, punk rock, death metal, country band (don't you wish one band hit all the marks?), but using this venue for comedy is a mistake. 2019 Review 21/100 A great space for small concerts! The venue is small and intimate, with a bar near the entrance opening up into a modest concert hall area. They've made some great changes since Backbooth to open up the space a little bit more. The acoustics are great. The whole feel is just very friendly, like you're listening to music in your friend's garage. I recently saw William Ryan Key here (formerly of Yellowcard) and, although I've seen more Yellowcard concerts than I can remember to count, this was one of the best experiences I've had seeing him/them just because of how intimate the space was. Great vibes all around. The staff is friendly too. I'd come back to Soundbar for concerts again and again. read more

We went to Soundbar tonight to see NAILWOUND and they killed it. Ya that was to be expected because Josh is badass. However the gentleman that affixed the wrist bands was top notch. Don't see a show here unless you literally want to put your life at risk. Where to even start. They oversell shows, literally stuffing people inside, making emergency exits and bathrooms impossible to reach. Also, they don't turn on the AC!! It's a sauna and one person right next to me actually passed out. Security was nowhere to be found. No one here wanted to do their job and it's actually the worst venue I've ever been to in my life. Went here for the men I trust show and would never come back. Like, not even if science resurrected all the Beatles for a reunion show and they were performing for one night only at soundbar. The biggest issue was that they oversold the venue. Like, *dangerously* oversold. The crowd literally extended from back door to front door. And on top of that, the AC wasn't on and it was an absolute sauna. So a fire hazard and a heat stroke risk. Great!! In a pandemic nonetheless! I watched one young woman get carried out of the crowd unconscious. Who carried her out? Some random guy, and not the two ogres in security shirts outside, who attempted no crowd control and just stood outside and texted while everyone inside almost died. I've never been to a more irresponsibly unsafe venue in my life. Don't come here. It's a music venue run by complete idiots with no respect for their customers safety. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. They way oversold the concert I was at, and the air was either broken or not on. It was unsafe and I definitely will not come to any future shows here. All 3 bands so far have complained about the temperature. read more

I went here last September for a underground concert and holy shit was the energy dead at first but after more and more showed up and more had their set lists did it get fun and the energy picked up. Was my first underground show and now I love going to shows and anywhere that's gonna be a blast. Staff was chill and they were just amused at how into it we were. read more

Imagine if you went to see your friend's friend's band in someone's basement and that's what Soundbar is like. The employees were pretty chill, the drinks were pretty good, and the place felt clean enough. You can pretty much guess what type of music is being played at any venue in Orlando based on their reputation. What makes Soundbar stand out as a music venue/bar is the diversity of talent that is being brought in. That in itself makes Soundbar one of the best venues in Orlando. My hope is that they don't pass over epic banjo bands that are cruising through town. Perfect for some of those early shows. The legendary stories of Backbooth are now just that, stories. Soundbar has morphed into a premiere venue, and shame on you if you don't go check it out, no matter what event is happening. The venue is clean and inviting. If you are expecting the Backbooth, you may find yourself scratching your cranium. The bar staff, door staff, and sound guys are all on point. The bar staff are expert level lip readers and will get quality drinks to you even when the music is pumping. Do yourself a favor, go out and spend a few hours at Soundbar. I recommend heading there for a show, or sliding in there later at night for some shenanigans with the best of Orlando. read more

Been there half a dozen times and every time it's been a blast. Great job on the remodel and definitely the restrooms. Great atmosphere and great drink specials. Looking forward towards the music scene in Orlando to be elevated because of this venue. Will definitely be visiting as often as possible, great bartenders and always fun. Worse venue ever. So hot i actually (LITERALLY) fainted.Not to mention the very rude and unprofessional bouncers. A bunch of random untalented people performed before Xavier Wulf for about 3 hours, and when he did finally come on stage it was only for MAYBE 30 min. I believe the venue had a issue because he was late. No one got a refund, or even an apology, but a switch on of the lights and telling everyone to get out. I wouldn't come here again even if Michael Jackson arose from the dead and decided to perform here. read more

I ventured to Soundbar on a Saturday night after an Orlando City match and you can tell right away that they've put in the time and effort to upgrade from the previous venue. The drink menu is more expansive and you can tell the new owners want to make Soundbar thrive in DTO. I will definitely return and look forward to what's to come from Soundbar. read more

This venue would have been okay if they hadn't oversold tickets to last nights show. No one had room to breathe, getting elbowed or shoved constantly, and the heat. All four of the bands that played were drenched in sweat one song in (for an acoustic show). They all mentioned how it was their hottest show. With how oversold the tickets were I heard tons of people say they would never come back to this venue. read more

This place is the absolute worst. Very unprofessional. March 30th went to support a friend of mines. I opened a tab at the bar as I do normally at any bar I go to. I had to leave at a certain time because of the parking meter. I go to bar to clear my tab and the young lady said she gave me back my chase card. Which is not true. I told her politely that "No, you did not". Instantly gave me an attitude, and proceeded to do something else. I got her attention again and said mam you did not give me my card and yet again she said she did. At this point I'm frustrated and told her to find my card. At that point I realized she was clearly intoxicated. So me and her are going back and forth about and finally I spoke to the manager which did no justification at all. So I ended up leaving very upset after 30mins of arguing back n forth, I ended up with a parking ticket because of them. By the time I got home I received a call from a friend of mines stating that they had my card because the young lady gave it to them by mistake. Smfh after she swore up and down that she gave it to me and on top of that they charged my card for the wrong amount. I could've stood home for this then to have EVER deal with that lady again. Great club. They took the Backbooth model and cleaned it up. No smoking inside of the club means it keeps a fresh smell. The bartenders are awesome, quick with service and are genuinely nice. The diversity of events at Soundbar are great, they can hold a wrestling death match one night and a hip hop show the next. It's a great, comfortable atmosphere. The new owners have done a lot to create a place that people from all backgrounds can come and enjoy themselves. read more
