Just had some speakers put in a 18 year old landcruiser as the stock ones (being 18 years old were bad). I started to do it myself but the speaker mounts were odd and needed to be cut. These guys did the work quickly, professionally and it appears to be a great job - sounds great for the money. Another shop I went to literally told me the speakers wouldn't work, just trying to up sell me to rewire the entire car. I would 100% recommend these guys. read more

I took my 1988 Pintiac Fiero to Oscar (the owner) after over 20 years of taking cars to him for tint and alarm. He charged me just under $350 for tint and an alarm. When his tech gave me the car back he immediately started making excuses about how hard the rear windows were to tint because of their location, but I didn't think much of it because of the 5 year warranty. He also told me that for additional fees, he could hookup all the alarm features. That's when the first red flag came up. After about two weeks, I went back because there were either bubbles or fingerprints under the tint on every window, and the drivers window even had several holes in a straight line. When he looked at the car, he said the bubbles would lay down after a few more warmer days, he said the holes were because I must have let the seat belt hit the window (even though the seat belt pulley is on the floor so it would be impossible for that to have happened), but he re tinted the window that had fingerprints. Two weeks later I took it back because the bubbles were getting worse. Oscar came out and looked at the car, and told me for the first time that he shouldn't have tinted the back windows in the first place. He said he would pull the tint off the back windows, but he refused to tint them again. I felt that he should have told me from the beginning that he didn't want to tint the back windows, for whatever reason, he should have told me. So I simply asked for a refund of the cost of the tint so I could find someone who would do it. He refused to refund any of my money. I then asked him how to turn the sensitivity down on the alarm because it was going off at work due to close proximity to an airport and at home due to a neighbor with loud exhaust on his truck. He sent his tech out who told me the alarm was "way up under the dash, and getting to it to adjust it would only end up with me breaking screws." He then began to scold me by saying "I told you from the beginning it was sensitive, and you said that's what you wanted." His solution to the issue was "just don't set the alarm when you're at home or at work. They have security cameras, and you have insurance, right?" I couldn't believe my ears. So after 20 years and about 7 or 8 cars, this is how I was treated. Bubbles, holes, fingerprints, and an alarm that's completely useless. Not to mention having to pay the next guy to strip the bad tint, on top of paying for the new tint. Thanks Oscar. I should have read the Yelp reviews before taking my car to you. You took my money hoping that your tech could do the job, and then refused to make it right when he proved that he couldn't. Maybe it's time to close shop and retire. read more

Would not recommend. I went in to have a simple basic stereo put in my car because I was trading it in. I just wanted to buy the stereo and put it into my car. They were rude and when I was asking simple questions about what came with the radio to install they would not answer and insisted that they install it. Finall he says they have to splice/cut wires along with other things. The guy actually said to me when I asked him questions "do you want it or not? I have work to do. Your wasting my time. I don't have time for this I work on tgese for a living. It will be like new just let me do it" Needless to say I told the guy to get out of my car and I left. Would not advise service for any installs or window tint. When I told the owner and employee what I wanted, it was still done wrong on the tint. Plus they will try to hide their mess up on the tint if they don't cut it properly with a marker on your window to fill in the uncovered areas. I don't know about you, but that's not what I pay that amount of money for. Disrespectful to paying customers, will argue in the lobby. Installs are shady as well. Would not recommend to anyone, take it to a true professional for any of the above. I have a close friend that use to work there, and was treated the same way. They also saw everything being done to others that was done to me. So it's obviously something they are good at hiding from customers. read more

I bought a high dollar car alarm and installation from soundworks. They only connected the basic wires. Car door and electric locks. I asked the installer about all the other functions like the trunk opener. He said since the car has a manual cable lever that he could do nothing. I showed him the factory alarm remote control operated the trunk release by a motor in the back of the car. Either one works pull the manual lever or use the electronic motor by remote control, he shrugged his shoulders. I asked him about the hood pin switch which was already installed by he factory alarm, just tap into it..again he shrugged his shoulders. I asked him why when I popped the trunk with the factory remote or the manual lever the aftermarket alarm did not go off and send to the clifford LCD remote control which was armed still..again just tap the wire that is already there.. he shrugged his shoulders. The car would start while the after market alarm was going off so he must not have even installed the starter kill.. he did connect it so the factory alarm would set when you activated the clifford alarm... but it just would not shut off the factory alarm when i dis armed the after market alarm.. the manager claimed he would have the alarm installed quickly... I did not know I had to ask him to hookup all the features of the new 500 dollar clifford alarm. The manager said that was the basic install for the 500 dollar alarm. Basically I paid $500 for another remote control I had to carry along with the factory remote control. He connected only a few wires from the clifford and cut off the rest so that when I took it to car toys they said I had to order new wires and plugs from clifford some of the wiring harness must have been kept by the previous installer. I wanted the clifford after the manager showed me the LCD remote control saying that the picture on the LCD would light up showing if the door was opened or the hood was opened or the trunk. That way I would be able to know how far the thieves had gotten in to the car. the hood picture never worked because he did not connect to the hood pin switch, the trunk same thing. Only the door indicator worked. All the other features was a shoulder shrug. But he did do it really fast. worthless. eventually i had car toys pull the clifford out and noticed soundworks had taped the wires so tight it was pulling my factory wires lose from the plugs. Just a warning to the people that don t know to ask what will it cost to actually make all the features work.. Oh wait.. the remote start did work.. for about 10 seconds.. the installer did not connect the RPM sensor to the tachomentor wire either and the plug for it to connect to the clifford was missing.. so there really was no point in using the remote start Go to Car Toys and get a better installer. Soundworks uses some idiot that barely looks tweenty years old when their website says their installer has tweentyfive years experience. Maybe the manager does he looks old enough but he don t install.save yourself a lot of money and buy from crutchfield.com and install it at Car Toys read more
