She was willing to ask tough questions and probe for deeper causes & reasonings. She also was very empathetic and easy to talk to. Would recommend to others.

This is a long overdue review for Teresa. In short, yes, absolutely, if you're feeling burned out,…read moreconfused, and unhappy about your job, please talk to her! I found Theresa randomly from an event on Yelp and I am glad I did. Last year, I paid around $800 for her Career Fulfillment Program with the Career Clarity Course. It looks like she has since revamped this program and doubled the price and added more coaching sessions--probably due to inflation and the current job market--but I would still recommend her services hands down with no reservation. For comparison, I had ran into a random internet career/life coach on social media a few months prior and that coach wanted to charge me $10,000 to help me find a new career in a completely different industry, supposedly without having to sacrifice pay. That felt unrealistic and scammy. Compared to scammy social media coach, Teresa's prices are reasonable and a great value and her program delivers results. Personally, I did not need help from Teresa with resume writing or interviewing. I was just feeling confused about whether my current career path was right for me and needed direction. I was considering a career change and was ready to throw away the career I had worked on for the past 8 years because I was so unhappy at my job. I felt so lost. Teresa's Career Clarity Course helped me do some soul searching and gave me areas to look into to figure out where my strengths, passions, and job priorities were. Finishing her course gave me a sense of direction and confidence for the next steps to take to find a fulfilling career. During the course, I was exploring new careers such as food vlogger/Youtuber, an entrepreneur owning a boba shop, or maybe go back to school to become a psychologist. Teresa gave me advice on how to research what these careers would look like or how to try them out without throwing away my current career and taking too long to figure it out. At the end, I realized I loved making money too much. While I believed I would succeed in a new career, it would take too much time to completely start over, so I was going to stay in my current field in tech. However, getting the idea from the personality test she had me take, I was able to do some research on Reddit and found a more niche role in my industry that was more suited for people with my exact personality type. I felt excited to try out this new role, because at least 3 others with my personality type, reported in Reddit forums that they loved it, so it gave me hope. The program was only supposed to last 3 months but as I was doing the program, my mental health got progressively worse from burn out at the dead end job. I eventually had to quit because I was so unwell and couldn't work anymore even after taking medical leave. Teresa graciously extended my program access for another 2 months free of charge and she and I met for one final coaching session where she gave me advice on how I could sell my translatable skills to pivot into this new role. Pivoting into a new but related role was a difficult task given the recent competitive job market and I got rejected a bunch of times at various stages, but I was on a mission to make sure I did not end up in a similar role as my last job and insisted on it after completing Teresa's program. It took 4 months for me to recover mentally and to find my current job but I am pleased to say I ended up at an excellent company with the exact role I was going for after some patience, perseverance, and luck. I've been at this new job for over a month now and I am very happy and I actually wake up looking forward to work! This rarely happened in the last 8 years. In addition to finding out a career direction, I also found out from the program that one of my passions was "creating and sharing experiences together". I have since used that discovery to encourage myself to start various social groups centered around my hobbies and have made new friends from it. I shared a story about creating experiences during my job interview and it played a part in my getting hired because the joy from following my passions really showed. I demonstrated the best parts of my personality and it just so happened to align with the company's cultural values. Teresa's program is life changing and it improved my life both personally and professionally. I am amazed at how insightful and intuitive she is. I really think she's found her tailor-made career for herself because career coaching is what she's meant to do. I am sure Teresa can help you, too!

Over a year ago I was not doing well at work. I was recommended to seek out a Career Coach. Little…read moredid I know how helpful Shawn was. Shawn was beyond helpful! He helped me from struggling to getting a promotion! In one year! He is always prepared for every meeting and remembers everything we talk about. It didn't feel like a meeting with a coach/therapist. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I will more than likely continue my work with Shawn, not because I have to, but because I want to. Thank you so much for your help and support Shawn!

About a year or so ago I was searching for a career coach to help me find "the work I was meant to…read moredo". Prior to working with Shawn, I thought that a career coach would assess my skills and then tell me what role/job I should do. Very quickly, I learned that that was not how the process worked and I couldn't be happier to have been wrong. Shawns' process helped me uncover what truly makes me happy, what kind of team I want to be a part of, what kind of organization I want to be a part of, and most importantly what job responsibilities would make me happy on a daily basis. For anyone looking to get a better understanding of their skills and job desires and use that knowledge to find a role that fits what you're looking for, then I'd recommend working with Shawn. While I found Shawn via Yelp, I also found a handful of other career coaches on the platform. I chose Shawn due to his business background and the fact that he was a true "Career Coach". I had a business background so it felt like a good fit and I was looking for a "career" specific coach versus a "Life/Career" coach. I worked with Shawn (In-person - I used to live in Seattle) for ~6 sessions. He broke down each session ahead of time so I knew what work I had to accomplish before our meetings and what to expect to talk about in our meetings. The work was challenging and thought provoking, but it really helped me discover my skills, shortcomings, non-negotiable and ultimately led me to the work that I wanted to do. He helped me define what I was looking for in a role, including: team structure, day-to-day responsibilities, environment, reporting structure, and more. He helped me gain confidence that even though I didn't have a background in design, I had inherent skills and aptitudes for the field. One year removed for working with Shawn, I landed a new role in a new career. Shawn helped me find a career path and happiness in my work. Working with Shawn really helped me understand my abilities and clearly define what I was looking for. Once I was able to define my ideal role, I was able to go out and get it. All in all Shawn was a major asset to helping me find the role I'm currently in. I would recommend him to anyone searching for a career coach. Just know, the work is hard but very rewarding!!!!

I think that's very important when selecting a coach. I had made a lot of assumptions about the next step in my career. Kathryn helped me explore the rational and logic behind these assumptions. Further, she pushed me to think about many other important factors about my next job that I was not really considering. Once we figured out the type of roles that excited me, we focused on tactical strategies to reach out to potential employers. She listened astutely to everything I shared and also read between the lines, helping me articulate that what I needed to focus on wasn't even actually my career- it was my own personal growth and mental and emotional health. Her questions and carefully developed worksheets are truly holistic, providing an opportunity to reflect broadly on what a more aligned life looks like for you and all your dreams, passions, fears, etc. Yet, as I got clearer on what I needed, I still was unemployed. Laila recognized my immediate need to become financially stable, introducing me to the concept of "transition jobs" and helping me identify what type of work I would be able to do in order to sustain myself while having the time/energy/resources for the deeper personal development I knew I needed. Though it was a difficult process, and I needed a whole support system of friends, counselors, and Laila's holistic approach, I got to work applying for transition jobs. We worked together to create a series of resumes for my different skill sets and Laila honed the language used to describe my experience. She had example resumes and resources that helped me bring life back to my resume, which I had grown deeply disillusioned with. While applying to transition jobs, Laila advised me to apply to as many as possible so I could have the upper hand in making my decision. Still in a very low place, I took the first offer I was given. As Laila could have predicted, I didn't last long (only a couple of weeks). The whole experience helped me realize that I wanted something between a transition job and my dream job, a little more in alignment with who I am. Ultimately, I was given three incredible offers, and Laila helped me negotiate which offers were right for me as well as coached me in negotiating compensation for my skills. If you are somebody who, like me, struggles with imposter syndrome and fully claiming your value, Laila enthusiastically supports you in advocating for yourself. I never imagined I could get the offer I ended up accepting- I am earning the highest hourly wage I've ever earned in a part-time job with full benefits doing the kind of work I want to do (work not usually highly compensated). Throughout the whole process, I always felt I had somebody at my back who believed in me and was available to talk through each interview and the challenges of surviving in such a tough economy, but I also had somebody to celebrate each small win with. Thank you, Laila, for your presence, your attunement, your perseverance toward joy, and your fluffiness! Your support was deeply needed during a very difficult time and brought insights that will change the trajectory of my life. I hope that more people, especially those like me who struggle to live in the system as it is, can work with you to bring meaning to their lives (while also learning to cover the basic costs of getting by)! I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to work with you.

In summary: I was seeking new opportunities in my field of UX design, had built an impressive portfolio but was consistently failing to communicate my work in a way that resonated with hiring managers. I had gone through 12 unsuccessful interviews before I decided it was time to seek some professional and objective advice. What I appreciated most about the mock interview with Lora was that she never tried to steer me away from being myself...she gave me practical tools to make sure that I was able to speak on my own behalf and recognize the intention behind every interview question. Long story short, I found myself with an offer letter about three weeks after our session in a role that is perfect for my professional development. Plum served that purpose for me and I can't reccomend their services highly enough.
