When I moved up here (9 yrs ago) I signed up with Sound Guard because it was already installed and they were local. I found their control panel impossible to use, so turned the thing off. Months later, the HOA reported some house break-ins so I called Sound Guard, hoping they'd updated their control panel. I also wanted to add motion and glass breaking protectors. After the installation, which cost as much as a new one, I found that they were using the same old control panel. So now I pay over $40/mo to have all these things on my wall that I can't use. So I turned it off. And I'm still paying $40/mo. OK, OK, I know this all sounds mainly like I'm stupid, and I'll admit I was stupid to assume that they'd upgraded their control box, but geez -- over 9 yrs couldn't they upgrade??? Also the owner (Dave?) doesn't have a very good bedside manner. Not that he's been in my bedroom. The receptionist (I'm sorry I've forgotten her name -- remembering names is not my forte), however, is very nice. read more
