These guys know what they are doing! Super chill staff who care about what the customer wants. Did business with Speakerbox before them, spent way to much, and my car stereo still wasn't what I wanted. Went to Sound Depot and they hooked me up with a new head unit and dash kit. Installed perfectly and sounds AMAZING. Not sure what the negative reviews are about (hmm, 3 on the same day from the same group of people?) Took my 2013 Nissan to have new stereo installed. I was told I couldn't no longer use my steering wheel controls and my rearview back up camera because they were not compatible with my new stereo. I was informed that in order to use these functions I would have to purchase a new rear view camera and some other BS components. I took my vehicle to Speaker box for a second option, they re-installed my steering wheel control and my rear view camera. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. As soon as I walked in the owner was a complete jerk. The only good reviews on here are obviously from when the owner wasn't present. I tried to ask for prices and the owner treated me like I was stupid. He insulted the fact that I wasn't familiar with audio systems and just wanted one for my sons first car. He said things like "You don't know what I'm talking about" "You need to do more research before coming in" and "You need better business etiquette"??? What does that even mean? I went to the audio shop down the road and they were soooo much more helpful and kind. I'm so glad I got to see the owners attitude to customers before giving these people my money. Please, for your own sake, do not do business with these people. Stay away! If the owner is not there when you are, just know he is a very rude individual who does not care one bit about the service and only about the paycheck. I wish I could leave 0 stars. read more

Dropped by there while shopping for a remote starter for my car and talked to "Junior". This is the only place where it was obvious they knew what they were talking about. The other places gave a price but didn't give the feeling that they had experience with their product they sell. They are a relatively small shop but their obvious experience in working with these systems gave me the confidence to entrust them to install the remote starter on my new car. Update: I finally had the remote starter installed. They estimated up to 4 hours for the install. They were finished in just a little over 2 hours. I'm obsessive about keeping my car interior like-new, spotless, and dust-free (yea, I need to get a life...). After the install was complete, I couldn't tell that they had even been in the vehicle. There was no indication that anything had been installed and the interior remained spotless. I had to look very hard to find where they mounted the windshield antenna. Excellent job!!! read more

This is the best place to go!!!!!! I had been shopping around for a new stereo system for my jeep, .They had the brands I recognized, and exactly what I was looking for, including the window tint to. Dave and Junior gave me a great deal on everything!!! When I asked about the install they quoted me 6 hours they got it done in half the time. Although there was a minor communication error between us at the beginning, they were great at making it right. I asked that all rear panel connections be accessible through my center console. Apparently, that information didn't make it to the installer, and only the USB connection was provided. I was prepared to give them a bad review, but when I contacted them a couple of days later, they immediately said that they want to make it right and set an appointment to fix the issue at no labor cost to me. read more

My 1st post, but my experience at Sound Depot is so great I just have to share. After having 2 Passport/Escort radar detectors installed in 2 different cars I asked them (Chris the install guy) to install some custom arm rest into my Tesla Model S. Of course they did an excellent job AND he found $60.00 under the seat that he returned to me. I did not know the money had fallen out of my pocket so it was a great surprise since it paid his fee and I had $10.00 in found money I highly recommend their service and honesty. I called specifically to see if they could "disconnect" the cd player on my 08 Mustang 500 Shaker System as it was doing the notorious clicking, I explained to them that the stereo was fine I just wanted the CD player disconnected. They said they would charge me $40 the average installation fee. We got there and paid as we are leaving I turn the radio on and nothing. Then they all said that it was all part of the same system and they could not just disconnect the CD player. So I paid $40 for NOTHING. I can only hope they did not cut anything to "disconnect" as it took about 15 minutes, not enough time to take apart the dash. Will be going to get another stereo installed elsewhere and we will see. Customer service was poor!! We discussed them installing another stereo after that and I felt as though they should not charge us another installation fee and the guy just walked off and left us standing there. I have had a few experiences with Sound Depot. This morning, I went in to find a wiring harness and dash adapter kit for my 2007 VW Jetta. They told me that the wiring harness would be $129 because my cars computer was also wired into the radio. They then told me I would need a adapter for my radio antenna just to listen to my radio on my aftermarket Pioneer unit, which was going to be an additional $30. I walked outside and called Railroad Bazaar over in Athens with whom I have had numerous dealings with. Stan told me that he had the harness and adapter for $79. I walked back inside, told them thank you but I found it cheaper elsewhere and was not going to buy there. When I told them that, who ever was behind the counter at the time told me he would drop the part down to $99. If this doesn't show you how overpriced this run of the mill sound shop is, I don't know what else will. Will never take my business here since I prefer to actually have money left over after my paycheck. The cd's started skipping and stuttering when played in the factory stereo/cd/tape player of my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. I took it to SoundDepot and they had the Pioneer - DEH x4900BT. It was one they recommended with the features I wanted. They said it was compatible with the original speakers (which made me happy to hear). It took them less than 30mins. to install! I am very pleased with the installation. They also took the time to show me the features and program my favorite radio stations, set the clock, and how to use the bluetooth with my phone through the radio, etc.!! They let me know I could call or come by anytime I had a question or problem. In fact, I had a question before I came in and sent it by email. I received a responce the very next day. They were very nice, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I definitely would recommend. P.S. Total cost only $192.63 !! read more

Recently experienced the worst "custom" install. I spent over $1,000 on the install ALONE. All I got was a polished turd! I took pictures of the horrible work as well. I can only assume they did this because I didn't buy my equipment from them. I bought everything myself. 1/0 gauge wires were twisted together, twist tied, and taped. Temporary tape was used to hold panels in place. Installer somehow used a 8ga ground wire for a system over 2,000 watts. Where it came from, I don't know. I provided 1/0. Crossovers were stuck to the inside of the door with sound damping adhesive. Terminals were exposed and started to rust .Equipment was mounted using various wood and metal screws often with only 2-3 holding it down. Plexiglass for box was not glued down. Some screws were counter sunk...some not. Install had engine noise. I returned it later to have it fixed. I received a answer of "That's the best I can get it." The manager is a complete jackass and extremely rude. This was my 3rd BIG stereo installed here and it will definitely be my last. You would think that a customer would get top notch installation after spending over a grand JUST FOT INSTALLATION..NOPE. read more
