This is by far my favorite SoulCycle location in the region! The staff's so much more friendlier, and of course the instructors are great. I recently signed up for a 2-week unlimited promo for new riders and ended up signing up for several classes. On my fifth ride, I even got a card congratulating me on five rides. How nice and thoughtful! I had tons of fun riding with Joe, Jacq, and Jarreau. Call me basic, but I loved the Taylor Swift themed classes! As with any SoulCycle in the city, this location can get pretty crowded in between classes. But there's usually plenty of space upstairs, including extra bathroom and shower stalls.

I've always wanted to try a SoulCycle class but unfortunately, I don't live close to one. I came to San Francisco for a work event so it was the perfect time for me to try it! I signed up for a class with Nick! Since it was my first time, my first ride was only $25. Upon arrival, I was greeted by two friendly front desk associates who kindly had me sign a first time rider waiver and then showed me around the studio! The studio has a locker room, showers and everything there for you. They let you rent cycle shoes which is really nice! Your first time is free but then you could rent them for three dollars after. Going inside of the room was straight to the point. One of the front desk associates came and helped me adjust my bike. My only complaint is how CLOSE TOGETHER all the bikes are!! My goodness, it wasn't a full class but I could only imagine how it is during a full class and idk if I'm good with that lol the girl in front of me had her ass all up in my face and was too close to comfort. But aside from that, I loved nicks class! He has really great music and choreo that kept me excited. I'd definitely come back to this location!

I've been going to SoulCycle regularly for 4 years, including riding the SoulCycle at Home bike, but the Castro location is my absolute favorite. You feel welcomed and appreciated the minute you walk in, and they truly take time to get to know you. Even when I was only going once a week, within a few weeks, they recognized me by name. It's so lovely to walk in and have them say, "Good Morning, Jaymie Lynn. I have you all checked in, is there anything else you need?" Some of my (current) favorite instructors: Paula, Casey, Kamelle, Jarreau, Jacq! But you truly can't go wrong with any of them!

Okay, I finally did it. After much thought and a pandemic to get through, I finally got a chance to take a SoulCycle class with Jaymie S. and I loved it. I've always been a huge fan of group workouts as I need someone to tell me what to do. I have a spin bike at home and I've tried out the SoulCycle classes on Equinox, so I had some idea of what to expect. If you are brand new to this style of class, definitely do a trial so you can familiarize yourself with the moves before showing up. I wouldn't have realized how many upper body exercises I'd be doing had I not done at least a sample online. Taking Matthew's class on Friday morning at 7:15 was nothing short of exhilarating. Staff were super nice in showing me how to set up my bike, providing me with shoes (which are $3 per rental after your first time), and even leaving a lovely welcome card. Matthew's playlist was nothing short of spectacular and the high-energy environment with music and lighting made the 45 minute class just fly by. Reserving a seat was easy. You'll need to purchase a class online or through the app, and make a reservation right at noon on Monday the week of your intended class. Bikes seem to fill up quick so be sure you're on the site ready to go. My only issue is that the price-point in my opinion. At $35 a class (with no real discount for my first time), it easily adds up and can be a turn off if you don't have a steady enough income to support this lifestyle. That's not the fault of the studio but I'd definitely recommend buying a pass or looking for random deals for to save a bit of money. Thanks SoulCycle Castro for being my first time. It was a great experience and if it was just a bit more affordable, I'd probably return more frequently at a local studio.

Very fun time! I been to wheel house, bodyrok, ymca now this was my first time here!!! -came in 1:25ish for my 2pm class to enjoy the whole area and take photos -I was told from my friend to come 30 min early for paper work, seat adjusting, and putting away my things. - I'm pretty active so I'd say it was not all bad. Pro -music litty, do y'all share the playlist? -bathroom essentials on fleek: face, shower gel, conditioner, shampoo-lotion, hair spray, anti-perspiration products -very clean -motivating instructor -shoutout to Liza who helped me with my seat adjustment and carefully ensured my seat was adjusted accordingly -free water and shoes for first time guest, $3 shoe rental after -towel service free -plastic bags for your sweaty gear Wheel house had snacks when I went last, would be extra if they had stone here too lol.

Ask the Community - SoulCycle Castro

Does anyone have any instructor recommendations? Also, I love riding front row, because I can check my form in the mirrors. Which bikes can I book that give me a good view without being blocked by the bikes on the side?

Yes! Riding bike 6 or 7 depending on the studio. Top instructors: Steph P, Luigi, Scott, Caitlin, Liam, Sandra. If you book the odd numbers, you'll usually get the mirrors. Also, bikes 10 and 11 you can usually see yourself without getting blocked.

So I usually find myself at the Alamo location and so I think my review is based off of having a…read moremuch better time at the other location. I think I was very bummed with this location for a couple of reasons: 1. You have no idea where you are in terms of half way through the class or anywhere near that. At the Alamo location, they have a projector up on a wall telling you the flow of the class maneuver by maneuver. 2. PARKING SUCKS!!!!!! You literally have to pay for parking here and although that may be normal for Oakland natives, it's not coming from more inland East Bay. I actually didn't come with a card or cash so I had no way to pay which led me to going into a liquor store and getting some coins. The machine then ate my coins! Luckily, I asked someone if I could Venmo them the $1.50 but she was so kind and ended up just paying for me. Although she was a lifesaver, I do feel like that should be posted somewhere in the app to let people know. 3. The front desk person was not at all helpful and I felt like I was bothering her when I asked her what I could do about the parking situation. All and all I don't see myself coming back to this location due to the parking situation and the lack of welcoming presence from the front desk.

Love Bodyrok, it's a great workout and a good studio. I have really liked all the instructors I…read morehave taken. The combination of Pilates, weights/strength training and low impact cardio have been great for my body and health. So bodyrok has been a great addition to my world. A few pieces of feedback... Some of the reformers are missing certain weights and attachments. Definitely an opportunity to get these fixed so everyone has the same experience. There is no phone number to call online (that is actually working) if you need help with a reschedule or scheduling error. It's pretty annoying but they are fairly response via email. Wish there was a quicker way of getting in touch with someone. Lastly, I wish there was a better balance of the flow of the workout and education on good form of the moves. 1. So that you are getting the benefit of the move and 2. So you don't potentially hurt yourself especially if you are brand new or in beginner stages. In my experience it's not consistent across all instructors which I hope changes as a bodyrok policy. But all around, love coming to the workout, the environment and will definitely keep coming back.
