Ok. Ummm.. No ! I gave these guys a break the first time I visited them about 6 months ago for my group's dance rehearsal. I had a 1-star experience then but I decided not to blab about it online because I believe everyone has an off day sometimes... Fast forward 6 months.... I came for a network event at their so called "sky lounge". Another 1 star (0 star to be exact) experience. So now, I will withdraw my free pass from these guys and will write on both of my terrible experiences. Smh.
Ok. The first time I encountered this so called business was for a dance rehearsal my friend booked for a college homecoming performance we were part of. The atrocity started before we even reached their front door. Located on a small hill with a narrow road, there was NOWHERE to park. There were cars in their incredibly small lot, which accommodates roughly 8-9 cars max. Then there were some cars on their small street, so basically we had to park the next street over and walk through a shady looking alley/passageway to get back to the front door. When we finally got there after walking in the freezing cold weather, we were stopped at the door and were told we couldn't come inside ! WHAT ??!!! One of the employees told us the remainder balance on what we owed wasn't fully paid since a deposit was placed to hold the space.. So we said, uhh yea the guy responsible for the payment is on his way, (approximately 5 min away) and we asked if we can come inside and wait. The employee SAID NO !! Wait ! WHAT ?? We can't come inside ??!! It's freezing out here ! The guy said its company policies !! When is it ok to have a group of 15 people waiting outside in the freezing cold because 1 person is late ! And by 5 min only ! It's not like we weren't gonna pay the measly balance of $17.50. (It's $35/hour to rent)
So after waiting the 5 minutes, we were finally let inside... We were already pissed at this point. Then to our surprise, the guy told us we had to pay another $35 because there is a 2 hour minimum. Huh ?? Why weren't we told this over the phone ?!! We only need an hour.. Again, we were told "it's company policies". At this point, we asked to speak to a manager. So they brought this guy with dreads to help us.. Apparently he was the owner... Uhh big mistake !! Dude is a DICK ! Usually when you speak to a manager, he/she is a little more sympathetic than an employee is because they have more authority and leverage to work with you. Well not this guy ! He was worst ! He basically told us, like it or leave.. And we can't get the deposit back. His attitude was unsymphatetic, cocky, and careless. So we were forced to hold the rehearsal, pay the $70 for a 1 hour, and left with a sour taste because of their company policies and business integrity. The inside of the dance studio was just okay, and nothing special. It wasn't worth the $35/hour for that small and tight of a space with super low ceilings. I've been to studios twice the size for similar price points. You're better off renting from some of the larger and more customer friendly studios of Atlanta.
Fast forward about 5-6 months... I'm invited to a networking event at this same address and location. At first, I was like, are they having a networking event inside of the small and cramped dance studio ? Then I was like, maybe their holding it in their recording studio area .. Come find out, they were holding it in their new so called "sky lounge". I guess it's something new they added or renovated or whatever. The first thing I thought about was, where were people gonna park ? As I predicted, NO parking whatsoever, not even on the other street. we had to walk 3 blocks in even more freezing weather, walk through another parking lot as a shortcut to get there..
I don't want to repeat the same story of the same disastrous experience the first time around, but lets just say it felt like deja vu. Same crappy service from the employees, but didn't see the owner this time. Thank GOD ! Anyways, don't get excited about their new "sky lounge" because it is anything but that. When you think of a "sky lounge" you think of a something that is sitting in a high location with some type of view. Well not this ! It looks more like a bingo cafe for senior citizens with some televisions. And their view is of a beautiful industrial parking lot with some pleasant looking grafiti on the wall as the eye catcher (btw, thats sarcasm) Their "bar" is nothing but a fancy island that serves coffee, water, and soft drinks for the expensive rate of $5 a pop. The space upstairs is tight, no real open space, too many railings which makes it hard to move freely in the space if it is crowded, and you have to walk through a dance studio and recording studio, bypass their occupants and go up a narrow staircase to get to it.
The concept of a multi-purpose facility is cool, but not when space and parking is limited. Everything is tight and small. That along with crappy service = EPIC FAIL, F, 0 STARS read more
