Selected Classics Recording Studio

OMG let me paint you all a picture. I am someone who always wrote lyrics but never found myself to…read morebe in a studio and actually sing/rap those lyrics. But this year, the universe told me to go in the studio and share another talent to the world. I faced an obstacle of finding a studio and one sweet day I stumbled upon Selected Classics and history was made. They are SO nice. They let me meet the engineers before I started recording as they answered all my questions and even sat down to hear all the inspirations for my music. Here, they focus on YOU and YOUR vision. I love everyone there and they made my very first studio session comfortable as that is the biggest thing they emphasize. They will do ANYTHING to ensure you're comfortable. I walked out my first session with my very first song completed. Their rates are VERY reasonable as they focus on quality and have the latest and greatest equipment. Their engineer, Percy, is one of God's greatest creations, his skills are top tier like my jaw was on the floor the entire time working with him for the first time. This studio is perfect for any artist like they're so good... I want to keep them to myself and not share them but they gotta make money LMAO. Selected Classics will be the ONLY studio I go to for my music. Might I mention, they also have their own clothing store? Support this BLACK business, you won't be disappointed. Also they are VERY clean as we are still in this pandemic, loved that.

I value the relationships that I establish and do not burn bridges. I address the actions of a…read moreThird Party Singer only because Rob has acted illegally. Rob Hooper does not understand the law, nor does he abide by the law in some cases. He cannot control the relationship I have with others that I invite and Hire to sing my original songs. The attorney I contacted suggested I post a review on Yelp. I hired a singer referred by Rob Hooper, owner of Lovework Studio. I have emails of him directing me to deal with the singer on all my issues...I have invoices showing his rate of $50 per hour, I have receipts showing I always paid him for sessions...I only had 3. I have documents, responses from him acknowledging that he referred the singer...What I cannot understand is why he withheld my files when the singer I hired showed up unprepared to sing my original; I stopped the session after 1 hour to cut my losses. However, I did pay Rob for 2 hours even though I stopped this session 3. In the phone interview, I expressed myself well and told her my expectations. I canceled the first session with this singer (Session 2) because she did not follow protocol. She did not send the scratch 1 min vocal as agreed. I gave her more time to prepare for Session 3. She showed up unprepared. I asked the singer to sing my song from start to finish (mistakes allowed) so that I could evaluate the quality of her vocals and her interpretation of my original song. She knew she had to do this for me when we made the agreement. The singer could not even sing verse 1 from start to finish without stopping. The engineer interfered repeatedly. She refused to allow her to show her unpreparedness by covering for her. Finally, the singer admitted she had not learned the song. She said she had not practiced verse 2. WOW. The engineer was deceptive and refused to follow my instructions even though I am the Lead Producer, Paying Customer. I do not pay singers to show up just to practice my material. Both the Engineer and Rob, the owner, begged me to continue the session. Why? Rob was paid IN FULL. They were so angry at me that Rob REFUSED to give me my session files...even the ones from sessions 1 and 2 with my vocals and another singer ...which had nothing to do with his friend that failed me. It is within my purview to hire and fire singers...also I decide on the rate I am willing to pay for a singer...rates vary. The night before Session 3, the singer asked for more money. I refused and explained to her she had agreed to do the 2 songs for $150. Rob is not my agent, nor did he represent the singer at the time I hired her. Rob also tried to get me to pay the singer more. I refused. Rob did slander me and told his followers that I did not pay. He deceived them. I paid him in full. There was no Producer/Singer contract...Rob did not hire out an employee to me. He defamed my character and lied to the public. During Session 2, I had to ask Rob to refrain from entertaining or giving another one of my singers a tour of his facility during my session. I told him, "She is my friend and a very good singer, but now was not the time to fraternize". He told me I had to pay for the entire 2-hour session, so I told him, "...do not tour on my time". He did apologize. During one session I thought we were playing musical engineer. During Session 2 they switched the engineer at the start of the session. He introduced the engineer to me. Then she left before the session started. This was so unprofessional. I was scheduled to do this session with Rob. When I phoned to say I was bringing my keyboard, he never told me about the switch. The lady engineer was impressed that I played keys. When I told her that I only played well enough to write my songs, I was not a proficient keyboard player, She walked out. I was waiting for her to return and she never did. There was no explanation for the switch. Again, Rob was doing Session 2. The female engineer did Session 3. She wasted 20 minutes of my recording time trying to figure out a problem she had with the system. I had emailed my original song and background vocals that we were using for this session. The engineer was unprepared as she stated she never looked at the email. She wasted too much time but I paid him IN FULL after the session. I did not deduct for lost time. Time is of the essence I had to hire another studio to assist me. I had to recreate ALL session files that Rob refused to give me. After the session, I paid the singer via Zelle for an hour of her time. My bank was not able to process the payment because they said the singer was not set up. In the interim, the singer is talking to Rob, which is her friend, and she told me Rob told her to inform me that he was holding all files until she was paid the entire $150. Suffice it to say, I have never heard the singer sing my song. Attorney advised me to do a chargeback.

I'm becoming quite the connoisseur of acting schools in Atlanta. Not really...but we have tried…read moremore than a few since my daughter began acting several years ago. It's kind of hard to measure the efficacy of a program and as long as my daughter was having fun, I didn't feel like it mattered all that much. I try to look at acting classes as both a social activity as well as professional development endeavor. She's enjoyed the classes she's taken but if she missed one, she didn't mind. That all changed when she began Film Academy with Ken Feinberg at Creative Studios. First off, she LOVES it. She looks forward to it every week and refuses to ever miss class. Not only is it fun but Ken has been able to challenge her and in a very short time, her acting skills have improved dramatically. She's had an agent since she was 6 years old and has booked a few things here and there. However, in the 5 weeks she's been at CSA, she has booked four big projects!! It's not coincidental because she has used several techniques Ken taught her in class. Recently, a casting director wanted to know where she trains because she was so impressed with her acting skills. From what I can tell, Ken's approach focuses on the practical side of the acting business--especially for kids. At her age, she doesn't need to be studying acting theory. Nothing wrong with learning it later on, but for now, he has stressed that she needs to take it seriously (this is a business, after all) AND have fun. And, if she can't do both, then this activity may not be for her. Additionally, he has taught her some really useful techniques she can use in auditions. On two auditions, this specific technique has helped her book the job. If your child is serious about getting into the entertainment business, I highly recommend CSA.

He helped us navigate the tv/film industry itself. It is not enough to simply have great acting skills. You have to know the snares and pitfalls of the industry when you set out to put those skills to use. Ken was invaluable in helping us learn the ropes. He continued to be a help and encouragement long after they had completed their training. They are well on their way and owe many thanks to Ken and CSA!!!
