Had them out to trim my palm tree and all was well and reasonably priced. Called them back when it was time to redo the same palm tree some months later and booked an appointment. Half an hour after the scheduled appointment time I called them to find out why they hadn't showed up or called to let me know of any delay. I was told that they texted me the day before to let me know they weren't coming. I never received such a text. Let me ask this common sense question - as a business owner, would you text your customer that you are canceling the appointment or would you call them to reschedule? Stay away from this unreliable joke of amateurs. read more

Our normal tree trimmer currently has a problem with his equipment so we were forced to look for another trimming company because we needed trees trimmed ASAP for HOA. Three guys showed up without masks and spoke to us without masks. Not impressed for customer service and for following safety orders. For an estimate in price, we texted Soto pictures of the three trees we needed trimmed. They gave us a quote via text but when they arrived they increased the quote by $70. (Also, they charge $65 more per tree than we typically pay our regular tree guy). We had to use Soto's son as the translator to explain that increasing the price wasn't fair since they had seen the pictures of the trees ahead of time and knew exactly what was needed. We were going to cancel the job and that's when they agreed to the first quote that they gave. We had him cut trees at two houses and we traveled to the houses with him. He knew we had two houses that needed trimming. We told him the distance between the houses ahead of time and he agreed that it wasn't a problem. The houses are 10 minutes apart. On trimming day, when we got to the second house he complained that it took him longer than 10 minutes to drive there. But note that he was driving way below the speed limit because of his equipment. But he was upset anyway and argued with us about this as well. During their prep work they threw their tarp over some of the other flower plants. We had to ask them to move the tarp so that flower plant would not get crushed. The high school aged son apologized for his dad's behavior (owner of the company) because he was getting a little mouthy over and over during the job. Their website also says they will accept check or cash. He wanted to mail us a statement and told us to send cash in the mail. We said no, obviously. They took our cash right then and there and we asked for a receipt. They took a long time to get us a receipt via email. Didn't seem like they had a receipt planned. Overall impression: not good. We have multiple properties and unfortunately will not be using Soto a second time - thank goodness these were the last 3 trees we needed cut this summer. As a first time customer, I would expect better customer service from them. They got the job done and cut the trees but with so much unnecessary complaints from him. Not worth your time. read more

Soto's Tree Services did an every-8-years cleanup of my grove of 37 Afghan pine trees, and pruned a half-dozen sumacs.
