The owner of this company was driving down to 215 with a truck with no safety net on stuff blowing out of the back of his work vehicle. I call him on the phone after a rock flew and hit my windshield. He laughed about it and was very nasty over the phone when I have it on video cause I drive a Tesla in the video captured it. I gave him the opportunity to fix the Windshield, but he has nothing but a huge attitude and denies it even though it's on video. I highly recommend you don't use this company. If this is how they treat you on the roads I can only imagine what they do on your trees. read more

Luis did a great job. Good communication, great price, completed 7 tree removal, ground stumps and clean up. I want to recommend A Cut Above. read more

It took 6 days to get a response to my request for a quote, and then the only response was to send pictures. That's not unreasonable, but 6 days is. In the interim, I was able to see that there is no license listed for this company. Despite all the good reviews on Yelp, people are taking a chance with an unlicensed business, which is, by the way, against the law here in Nevada. read more

Excellent service and very competitive price. Arrived at the time agreed and did a great job trimming a large Mesquite Tree. Brought a bucket truck as requested and thoroughly cleaned up after they where done. Highly recommend. read more

I had a large mesquite tree, a very tall palm, 2 large shoestring acacias, and a flowering plum that was infested with borers and needed to be removed. Luis and his crew went above and beyond to improve the appearance and health of my trees and did a thorough cleanup afterward. Price was very fair, and I will definitely use them again! Luis and team is awesome! read more

Great Company, excellent service, Fair prices, I had 2 huge date palms removed. I highly recommend A Cut Above Tree Service. Thanks Guys

Owner operator Luis responded quickly to my request for a quote to trim 4 very large Cypress trees and Canary palms. Within a few days his very efficient crew was here and did a great job. They cleaned up after as well and the price was reasonable. Luis showed me his license and insurance information as well. Excellent service and value. read more

Great service from Luis. Got me a quote for stump removal and was able to remove it the next day. Price was good for the service. Will definitely use them again and recommend to anyone. read more

Tree pruning needed. 1 large pine & 3 overgrown citrus. Luis responded quickly to request - I texted pics to him & he also came quickly to do in person quote. He recommended cutting down pine tree - many limbs dead ,- tree dying so it would be more costly to keep trying to trim branches as they died - plus ugly! Luis quoted an extremely reasonable price for the jobs. I highly recommend! Fast response, great communication, friendly, reasonable pricing, great work & clean up. My pine tree is gone & my citrus trees look 100% better. Thank you to Luis & his team read more

I got in touch with this company about a tree in my front yard that had died suddenly. They asked for pictures, which I sent, and I never heard back from them again. I even went into Yelp and asked them to let me know if they didn't want to do my job (perhaps because it was a small job), and still nothing. They had been recommended to me, so I was very disappointed. read more

Luis and his crew were prompt and professional. They removed a huge pine tree and trimmed three other trees in less than three hours. They did all we asked and more, including cleaning up afterwards. Very pleased! read more

My back yard is full of palm trees. Previous owner put in about 25 trees. And now they've grown so much it's a hazard to trim. I wanted the tallest 5 taken out and put out a request on yelp through projects. I got 7 out of 8 requests back and 6 good quotes. One guy obviously didn't want the job and bid $4500 while everyone else was 1100 to 1800 range I decided on A Cut Above for 2 reasons, they seems like good people and they were going to use a crane to remove the trees. I didn't want an all day affair where they take them down in sections and destroy my grass and yard by throwing the sections down leaving divots in my lawn. They showed up on time, but we had to wait for the crane a while. Once the crane showed up they were quick. Cut the tree at the bottom and hoisted it out in one piece. Was really impressive. They were done in a couple hours and no damage to my grass Highly recommend read more

Absolutely awesome company. The team arrived right on time, removed the tree stump and all the debris from the tree and branches. They also took extreme care of my gate when bringing in the grinder for the stump. They removed the gate and put it back afterwards. Lastly, they did an excellent job cleaning up the branches and debris after everything was loaded onto the truck. I would highly recommend Luis and his team for all of your tree service needs. Luis is the best! Friendly, professional, and great to work with! Very reasonable pricing as well. Highly recommend

I requested to cut 2 trees that kept growing wild hitting our home and street sign. A Cut Above had great communication and price. When Luis arrived, he said the pics I sent didn't show how big the trees really were, but he didn't raise the price. The 2 man crew worked quickly and efficiently completing the job surprisingly in an hour. I'm usually too lazy to write a review, but I was really impressed with this company and how friendly they were. They weren't able to grind the stumps due to the nearby irrigation lines, but he was able to cut it low enough to the ground and cover it with some rocks that I didn't know where the stumps were until he pointed them out. read more

Luis and his team removed a few small trees, a very large tree, and trimmed a very, VERY tall tree in front of my house. They were responsive via text message or phone call and they arrived promptly and on time for all 3 appointments that they set. From quoting to project day, everything went off without hitch. Some of the branches of the tree fell onto my neighbors lawn and they cleaned up every piece of debris. I left my gates open and totally trusted the team to do whatever they needed to do while I was away at work. When I came home, it was as if they hadn't been there and the trees I magically disappeared and my tree was trimmed. It gave me such peace of mind to know that the tall tree branches wont be crashing through my rough during one of these insane stores in NV. It was an excellent experience and in my opinion. Luis's prices can't be beat. I got some INSANE quotes and this company was by far the most reasonable. They're very nice and super professional. I am so glad I found these guys read more

Luis and his team did a fantastic job cutting our palm trees. We were not at the house during the service but when we came back everything was nicely cleaned up. I requested last minute to look at some additional palm trees and Luis looked at it the same day and provided a quote. If you need fast and great service; this is the place to go. We will definitely continue using Luis and his team! Thank you! read more

I was really hoping to have a great experience with this company the way so many others have shared. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I included several images in the post regarding the condition our property was left after they completed the work. This job started on Monday morning, they even arrived a bit early! There was confusion over what we agreed to as far as what would be removed, so that should have been a sign I guess. I did message the company prior to them coming out about exactly what they would be doing, and he only responded to the part regarding the price, so I thought everything was clear. Once we came to an agreement for an additional cost, the crew started working rather quickly to cut down the trees. When they got two of them down, they went and got some drinks from McDonald's and such--it was hot outside, I completely understand. They came back and continued working and started grinding the stumps. Of the three trees on one side, one of them was ground PERFECTLY! I was so excited, until I saw the other two. One of our trees was planted with a ReBar (metal) stake and it grew inside of the tree. I didn't blame them at all for not being able to grind that stump completely because none of us knew that was in there. The other tree had no issues, it was just not ground completely. So I'm not sure what the excuse was there. All of the workers ended up leaving Monday and told us they would return in the afternoon to complete the cleanup and collect payment. They came back and removed some of the large wood pieces in front of the house that they left behind, but didn't come back onto the property to clean. I messaged Luis the next day to touch base with him, sent him pictures and everything that needed to be finished. He came to my house alone and with no vehicle to clean up, but insisted on collecting a significant portion of payment for the job. I explained to him why I felt uncomfortable given the circumstances with giving him more than half of the compensation when so much still needed to be done, including showing him the trash his workers left behind (drinking cups, water jug, powerade bottle). He said okay fine keep your money until we are done and stormed off...that was on Tuesday. Two days later (Thursday) I get a message in Yelp that he will be here between 4 and 6:30 to complete the cleanup and collect payment. The two men showed up at 5:41 and started cleaning the pile...but connected a hose to spray it down. At the time I wasn't sure what they were doing, but when they came to the front door sometime after 7 to collect payment, I was over it. I gave them the check and they left. My husband came home and looked at the mess that remained in our yard to utter disappointment. Today, after the mulch had more time to dry, I took another picture of how much they left behind. This is not what I paid for, not what I asked, and certainly nowhere near the level of service others have received. I was hoping to use them again to remove the remaining trees when we are ready, but now I see that would be a disaster in the making. The one star is because the experience started off fantastic, I just don't know where or why it fell apart. read more

I honestly did not want to have to write this. The first of communications were spot in and very courteous. We discussed several options for my project at my home and decided on a basic trimming down of our tree at home. The agreement was specific, Trim the tree, clean up and leave firewood. We would have been happy to keep our own wood from the tree but were convinced to exchange it with their stock of dried wood ready to go for usage. We specifically wanted firewood for our needs at our home. After getting the job completed, I reviewed the work and the grounds. I was disappointed to see a large, dangerous and unsafe block of tree limb dangling in the air above where my wife stood. Fortunately, I was aware of this and took precautions myself to remove this from the tree above us. Essentially, I believe the limbs were cut in a brash, swift way to get the job done quick rather than effective. We were promised day after day, week after week that we will receive firewood from their stock. Due to high winds over April, I understood for a reasonable amount of time the delay. Now, May 26th, and all there has been have text conversations saying, "we have not been forgotten", "happy to drop this off at your home on the side of the house" etc etc I am mostly disappointed because I was kind enough to tip the young gentleman an extra-large bill for his communication, kindness and multiple attempts to stop by my home prior to the job to fully understand what we wanted. But since this job has been completed, it's cash in the pocket and out of sight, out of mind in my opinion. The job was somewhat appropriately priced, and I thought it was kind of me and my wife to offer a tip in these times where people can use a little extra for their pockets. I feel as if the amount paid, and the agreement not being met is grounds for a small claims suit. These experiences lead me to be much more cautious while negotiating jobs through YELP, Angies or any other business platforms and ultimately leaves a bad taste in feeling confident with small business such as "A Cut Above Tree" services. Let Down! read more

We really needed our dead tree removed and replaced. A cut above got back to me so quick and came over for a quote within an hour! We also decided to have some plants replaced and backyard cleanup. The price was within our budget and I thought it was great! They were able to come out the next morning. I'm very happy with their work and quick responses. I also received a year warranty on the tree and plants. We got a palm and I love it! We will be using them for future landscaping needs most definitely! read more

The quote was good for stump grinding but we weren't told it would cost $180 more to dispose of some of the mulch. We had to clean our yard of the mud and dirt left behind by them. Amazing service! Amazing owner! I requested a quote through yelp and got a response within 15 minutes. I had an obnoxious/ugly tree stump that needed to go! First the convenience, it was great that I could text him a picture, without having the hassle of giving all of my information and having to schedule someone to come out and see it. After reviewing the picture, we spoke over the phone and he was kind, down to earth, and professional. He explained to me the different options, the process and what he thought would be the best option. He was detailed and knowledgeable and I never once felt pressured to make a decision based on profit. Next, his price and availability. I had received quotes from other companies and this was the best price. It was extremely fair and affordable. He was also able to come out on the same day! Finally the service. He arrived on time with his crew. When he arrived, he explained the process, and then got right to work. I really appreciate how hard they worked, especially in this heat. My tree stump was not an easy one (about 3 ft. width), when it was originally cut down the company that cut it said it was too thick and tough and that they could not bring it any lower. Luis and his crew had great equipment and spent the time to ensure the job was done thoroughly and properly. This owner cares about the quality of his services. I highly recommend this company and it will be my go to for tree services! read more

Luis and A Cut Above Tree Service did a great job at our home! We moved in recently and there were 4 California Pepper trees that were approximately 25 years old and all ranging from about 35-50 ft tall. After reaching out for quotes on Yelp, Luis showed up the next day to look at our trees, offer his advice, and gave a very reasonable quote. Just a few days later, his crew came out and did a great job removing one of the trees, trimming the other 3 extensively, and cleaning up after themselves. The removed tree made way for a future pool and the 3 trimmed teams needed the work badly as they had not been trimmed during the entirety of their life and held a few large limbs that were in danger of falling due to being too heavy. We'll reach out to Luis and his crew for any future tree-trimming needs! read more

JR was recommended to us by a friend & neighbor in our historic neighborhood. He was able to come look at our queen palm that needs removed. He came within a couple of hours of calling and asking for an estimate. He was super friendly and gave us a really fair price. We ended up using the company that services our community space vegetation in our gated community, but only because they could remove the tree and trim others for the same price due to their constant work here. If that was not the case, JR with A Cut Above Tree Service would have been the best option. Definitely worth a call for an estimate! read more

Called them out to do two very tall palms. Prices have gone up for all services lately but they were competitive and were able to come out quickly to get the job done before the seed pods started popping into my pool.
