Also, seems lately he comes like at end of month , because he is needing funds, he'll do the required work, but, this was the last straw.. he said my hedges needed more watering ( so I corrected issue. He quoted me $500.00 for 2 treatments. 1st treatment was watering down my hedges with water, then he said he'd follow up a week later. I had no problem paying him right away. Main problem with this service is charges a lot for work ( no issue of quality of work) , but, the issue of charging for major additional work, paid now, without warning or in writing. It feels like I'm a bank. Now he has basically stolen money for projects not completed and no show. Work is good, but, he's business practices $$$$ not ethical. Now rippoff. If you pay on time, he takes more and more advantage of this. Starts charging for large amounts for projects and tells you if you want it done , you have to pay NOW. After requesting bids from a number of landscaping and lawn companies for some repairs I needed to…read moremy irrigation system, I picked S&J to do the work and I'm definitely glad I did. Here's why they stood out: thorough, personable, and timely. I asked five companies for estimates and S&J came out quickly. John arrived on time and was very thorough. He walking through the yard with me, noting the leaks and offering suggestions for things that might be causing them, took detailed notes and asked specific questions to ensure what he was seeing matched what I'd seen with the problem over time. Basically he ensured he was diagnosing the issue as accurately as possible. No other company did this. Some took more time than others, but none of them were as thorough as S&J. When I received their estimate, it was competitive, and included references to the notes John took during his assessment. The attention to detail and the desire to walk with me through all the problems I was seeing made the difference and I asked S&J to do the work. John was the one who returned to do the work. I don't know if that's normal, but it was nice that he knew exactly what the problem was. Even so, his notes were thorough enough that I have no doubt another technician could have addressed the issues just fine. During both visits John was personable but didn't waste time. He started right in on the repairs and finished them in several hours. The work included a decent amount of digging to make the repairs. It was clear his experience with irrigation lines, plant roots, etc. allowed him to be careful but quick, and not cause harm to the plants the irrigation lines were there to support. He left me feeling like the work he (and S&J) was doing for me truly mattered and wasn't just another job. When he finished, he tested everything, and whatever he had to dig up or move to make the repairs was put back properly including cleaning up any dirt and gravel from where it didn't belong. The wonderful people in the front office who sent the estimate, scheduled the project, and did the invoicing were fantastic too, including Rene and Jimmi. Talking to them was like talking to good neighbors. S&J provided just the kind of service I (and you?) hope to get when you decide to have work like this done on your property. I'll definitely call them back for the next project without hesitation.
