I had been a patient of Dr. Sophia Boulkas for over eight years, and initially, my experiences with her were pleasant. However, my husband and I have been deeply disappointed by the abrupt way she discharged my husband from her care. This decision seemed to stem from the consistent rudeness and disrespect exhibited by her mother, Barbara, who manages the front desk. Barbara, or "Mama Boulkas" as some might call her, has been a nightmare to deal with. She never listens to our concerns and constantly harasses patients for insurance information, often in an erroneous manner. My husband and I never faced similar issues with any other healthcare providers, which makes this experience particularly frustrating. The hasty decision made by Dr. Boulkas to discharge my husband--who suffers from multiple medical conditions--was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It feels as though she sided with her mother rather than considering the well-being of her patients. Barbara should not be in a position to impact patient care in such a negative way, as it creates a clear conflict of interest and poor judgment within the practice. I wholeheartedly encourage others to consider this situation before committing to Dr. Boulkas as a healthcare provider. It's disheartening to see a once-reliable physician compromise her practice's professionalism in favor of familial loyalty. Caveat emptor! read more

DR SOPHIA BOULUKOS - Smithtown I am a native Long Islander for 62 years. I have taken a lot of time to find the best health care professionals possible for me. These doctors are amongst the best!! I am a patient of Dr Tsarkalis and Dr Boulukos. They have been my doctors for many years. First I would like to share that the office is very well run. The staff is efficient, professional, inviting and friendly. I have always felt like family during my visits. The physical office is organized, clean and arranged in a way that welcomes all patients who enter. One of the many attributes of this office is that you are never made to wait very long. They don't over book or triple book appointments. So that boils down to a minimal wait time to see the doctor. I have had the pleasure of seeing both of the doctors. I've been seeing Dr. Boulukos since I was in my teens. I'm 34 years old, and can tell you that she is my favorite doctor I've ever had. Very kind, very caring, very knowledgable, and very professional! She's seen me through a lot through the years, as I have an extremely intense medical history that brings me to doctors way more than the average person. Because of that, I've seen more doctors than I'd like to think about. Dr. B is one of the best out there. Don't take this lightly, because good doctors are very hard to find. Dr. Sophia Boulukos has been top notch! I have been to several doctors to figure out what has been wrong with me and was referred to her office. She was the only doctor that was able to get the root of the problem. Realized I had a co-infenction, lymes and babesiosis. For those suffering with lymes, this can be paralyzing. I was so grateful for the treatment and I am starting to feel like a person finally. I had to write this review. So thankful! In addition, when dealing with lymes, you are have to take many blood tests.
