I was permitted to book an appointment with this office less than three days ago. I was confirmed for that appointment less than 24 hours ago. To be told at 7 AM this morning when I walk into the office, but they no longer accept my insurance their office never notified me and as a patient of almost 20 years, I could pay out-of-pocket to see my doctor or basically go screw. You can imagine how that could be physically upsetting so when I never threatened anybody in the office and never used any foul language, but was visibly crying, trying to advocate for myself because I would love to know if I'm walking around with pneumonia As I'm working it out or thinking I am with the office manager being told that they dropped the ball and it's their fault. I have poor Suffolk County police officers walk up behind me to escort me out when I was never asked to leave, but to the contrary, asked to hang tight while they figured out what they could do for me. A part of me feels terrible because the girls at the front desk were great and the first girl who brought me into my exam room was very sweet. They were great on the phone and took me in same day, but then the entire experience went downhill when the doctors came to asses my issue. I went in for ear pain. I explained my symptoms and told them, "I'm sure it's just a pimple in my ear, but I'd like to be safe and make sure." They check my ear and left to grab another doctor to get a second opinion. I hear them directly outside the door mocking me and calling me over dramatic. That I am "psyching myself out" and it's "just a little pimple" and they begin laughing to each other. I thought I must be hearing this incorrectly and being sensitive, but the laughing and mumbling that I'm pretty much making up my symptoms made me feel so beyond uncomfortable. I've never in my life felt so embarrassed and humiliated. These are healthcare professionals. I am simply coming in to make sure I am in good health. They then blame "anxiety" and completely write me off. It was a male doctor with blue eyes and blonde hair along with a short girl with long dark hair. I unfortunately do not remember their names. I always hated and felt uncomfortable in doctor's offices, and this experience will now worsen my outlook on the subject.

Also, every time I go, the secretaries tell me that my appointment is a different day/time. EVERY TIME I GO! So then I am left with waiting 1.5 hours for a bus ride home, for I cannot drive. They are unorganized, so I stopped going there and switched to Stony Brook Hospital Hematologists. I first tried seeing Dr. Yelda Nouri. She quickly stated something briefly. Then she rushed me out the door. I tried to ask some questions. She replied in about five words. Then she left the room to make more money by seeing more patients. She does not care about patient's health; works only for money. Dr. Nawaz is brilliant and kind, yet runs 45-60 minutes late. The Patchogue location has poor quality sensors for the water to turn on in the restrooms. The water turned on for only one second, off four seconds; on again for one second; then no more water at all from the faucet. I have never experienced such poor water sensors before. I almost began to bleed caused by so-called blood specialists. They seem to have no idea what causes eczema. My fingers within two minutes became cracked, peeling and almost bleeding from this location. Patients with eczema, beware. In general, NY Cancer and Blood Specialists has some good doctors, some not so good, and the quality of everything else is poor.
