The folks here initially said it would be a bit because they were so busy but would call back when they could schedule me. That took about two weeks which was ok. They came when scheduled, provided a written estimate. It was similar to a number I got from someone else and was reasonable. It took about 2 weeks for them to get the custom cap for my chimney. The communication with their office manager was always a pleasure and they were on time for the install. Bottom line is it's been 30 days and several major storms and no leaks. Would definitely recommend them

From the first interaction I had with Andrew and Adam, they were incredibly professional, very helpful with any questions, and providing detailed rationale for everything they recommended in the estimate for my roof in an easy-to-understand manner. The crew was very efficient and worked incredibly hard to ensure that everything was done to top-notch standards. In addition, they provided frequent communication with pictures on how the roof replacement was progressing, which was super appreciated and provided re-assurance. They also recently came in under a week and fixed a small issue with a lifted piece of siding, and cleaned out a clogged gutter I was unaware of. I'll use M.A. Thompson for any roofing, siding, and gutter work in the future and I will be recommending them to anyone in the North Hills.

These guys are the real deal - if you are in doubt, doubt no more and read…read more We reached out to 3 different companies to perform cleaning and level 2 chimney inspection and cleaning for a home we recently bought. 5 fireplaces, 4 gas inserts, one log burning, all in a historic 1870s home. Being out of state, we used Yelp and read good things. Pricing wise, they were not the cheapest, but there is a reason. FireTec was super communicative on what we are to expect, and super responsive to questions. They called to confirm the day of appointment, and showed up on time, masks on, shoe covers, and armful of floor pads and coverings (more on this later. The tech came and was friendly, respectful of the COVID situation, and careful with our home. Every fireplace they worked on was meticulously prepared and protected to ensure no damage or dirt would get on our floor. During the visit, they even updated me on findings as they went along and also how they were going to charge me less than estimated as certain chimneys did not require the level of inspection requested or originally thought to be needed. At the end, 3 of our gas inserts needed new control modules as the batteries leaked and damaged the units. They showed me the issue and again were transparent on what was needed. Now, I could leave the review as is, but this is what going above call of service means. The tech, bothered with a small finding in the video inspection, called me back after he left asking if he could come back and recheck one of our chimney. I am glad he did, as he discovered that one of our fireplaces was blocked off by previous owner, and it was not safe to be used. Being a father with 2 kids in the house, this is the kind of service expected. FireTec ordered the new gas inserts control modules and called me much earlier than the scheduled appointment asking if I was available to get the gas inserts fixed with the new control modules. Apparently their tech was freed up and available. Fast forward, our fireplaces are clean, inspected for safety, and gas inserts working as expected. And as if that wasn't enough, they send a thank you card. This is how you are customer centric. It's hard, but not impossible!

Our back deck had been a disaster since we moved into our house. It was a previous homeowner DIY…read moreproject that was used with incorrect materials, and because of this it was causing the deck to sag in multiple locations. It also did not have any steps for access to the backyard. We spent a year and a half contacting contractor after contractor, no one wanted to help us get our deck up to par. Not one person that came out to look at the deck would give us an estimate on what it would take to fix the deck. Some told us they would only give us pricing for a new deck, others just ghosted us all together. Enter Mark Skerlec. Mark listened to our needs and then gave us a variety of options that could rectify the issues with the deck. After making our final decisions Mark quickly scheduled a date to begin his work. He was clean, he was quick, and he did incredible work. Our deck no longer sags. It no longer bounces when you walk on it. I also finally have direct access to the backyard. The most amazing part is Mark was able to take the time to match up the parts he used with the current design of the deck. Looking at it you would never know that it was once a monstrous atrocity.
