The trail (non-paved) to the beach is moderately steep. Loose gravel in some points so be careful. It's pretty narrow too. The paved walkway backup is also steep and will get the cardio going. Along the trail are many picnic tables to sit, eat a snack, take some pics, and catch your breath. Only downside is parking is limited. Go early if you can. Overall highly recommend.

The Gnome Trail goes left and a Loop trail to the right. There are So. Many. Gnomes! It was a lot of fun to slowly wander, looking side to side, trying to see all the gnomes! There are a couple of sections of trail with almost no gnomes, but most of it has plenty. An abundance if you will. They are everywhere! Hanging from limbs, on logs, under leaves, on tree trunks, in crevases, off in the distance. It's quite fun trying to spy them all. I like the idea of bringing a troll to leave. I would like to leave one in a less populated area. A momento of my visit to Maple Valley. This is a fairly easy trail. There is one steep incline, and some rocks and roots under foot, but the trail is a nice width and fairly easy to follow. Much of it is well blaze. An excellent trail to bring your pre-school child or anyone who enjoys a bit of whimsy.

There are numerous parking areas along this tail and it connects up directly with the Interurban in Tukwila and Kent for those looking to keep going south. At dusk and dawn you can find a TON of bunnies and perhaps even a coyote. Most areas have good lighting, but I wouldn't recommend using this trail as it gets dark.

I have been visiting Tiger Mountain (AKA Fraternity Snoqualmie) Family Nudist Camp for about 7…read moreyears. During the summer it's the best time to just lay out in the sun and swim in the heated pool. You must be nude to swim in the pool. I've always found the locals and residents at the park to be warm and helpful. There is a full covered kitchen available for anyone to cook in and eat at the picnic tables just outside. Being publicly nude seems strange at first but that soon goes away. No one cares what you look like, just who you are and they are willing to get to know you. A couple of years ago they built three small cottages next to the restroom/shower facility. They are called the "Birdcages". All three use the established facilities so it is a bit strange but worth the place to stay at a very reasonable price. I plan on going back there for my annual summer "migration" to the park. It's worth calling them at 425-392-6833 and talk about any concerns. They are very professional and concerned about your privacy. Cross it off your bucket list if for no other reason.

I wanted to go to see/visit Troll at Point Robinson Park, this troll photo popped up on Seattle's…read moreYelp activity page and it was giving me hints that I must visit before I leave, hehe. 3.21.2026- On the day of our visit, I asked my wonderful hubby to add Point Robinson Park to our schedule, on the drive there it states one hour, funny, not knowing we have to take a ferry to get there. As we got closer the map had all water, hehe. What a nice spontaneous surprise, we decided to do take the Fauntleroy Ferry to Vashon Island. ( will do a review the Ferry after). Who doesn't love the Ferry?! After we got to Vashon Island, it was about a 20 min scenic drive to Point Robinson Park, So happy we are here! Keep in mind the park gates closes at dawn, I was worried about being stuck there and we arrive close to dawn. Plenty parking, very nice park with lighthouse, beach, trails and picnic area. First things first, lets look for the troll, which his name is Oscar the bird king, made by Thomas Dambo. Thomas Dambo is an artist based in Denmark, Thomas makes sculptures out of recycled materials. This sculpture is part of series of six site specific installations called Northwest trolls. I need to find the other 4 during my future visits to PNW. Wow, super cool to see and visit Oscar the troll in real life, a little scary but so interesting. Thomas is super creative and got skills. Oscar is huge in real life, hehe. We took our photos, observed the artistic skills, greeted him with Shaka, then after that we went to explore the rest of Robinson Park. Trail, beach and we finally got to the lighthouse, another reason to visit. There's a lighthouse tour during mid May-September, which I would love to learn more about. All in all, What a great day to make it a great day here, trolling Point Robinson Park, LOVED every moment!

The trails were muddy this time of year so wear better footwear than I did. The beach by the lighthouse was lovely. There are lighthouse tours Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. Lots of benches surround the lighthouse to take in the ocean. It's crazy to think a huge city is just across the water from this beautiful small island.

I gave up after like ( minutes, but at least there are business cards and flyers everywhere at the start point so you can contact them then and there. I like that there is evening seating arrangements at the ground level where you are about to enter or exit from the hike for people to dine. Parking was :/ , though, so had to go to a nearby house where they charged $10. They take cash, Venmo, or Zelle, so thank goodness that there was space there because the lot for this hiking trail is extremely limited!
