Update to my original review: Do not book services with this company. Turns out the owner wrote my appointment day down incorrectly, and still failed to show up to the new appointment. Haven't heard from this company in 2 days even though they made the error of appointment date. I have been stood up twice at this point with no word from the owner still. Horrible service, don't waste your time. I am giving a 1 star review and haven't even received services yet from this company and I have already had a bad experience. Everything about poor communication from previous negative reviews is correct, they seem like a great small business but don't have the bandwidth or flexibility to accommodate new clients. I contacted the business on a Monday via Yelp regarding a dryer repair for my tenant, and the owner responded quickly and was very helpful. We planned on having a technician visit my unit on Friday for a 2pm timeslot, and the technician would be calling my tenant directly to get the address and additional information. On Thursday, my tenant still had not heard from the company to set up that information so I called Sooner Repair and the owner apologized and mentioned that he would take care of it asap. Well it is currently 12pm on Friday and my tenant still hasn't heard from the technician and I can't seem to get in touch with the company via phone or messaging on Yelp. I have used Ryan for various and sundry appliance repairs over the years. Most recently, my dryer stopped working. I scheduled a service call. Then it started working. I called Ryan to let him know. "It's the motor." He had me screen shot him my appliance model number and ordered the part. He called me when it was in (on a Sunday) and scheduled the repair for the next day. Once at my house, he realized my dryer's drum was also starting to crack. He welded that back together for me. Had I gotten a new dryer, I would have also had to have replaced my washer as mine are stacked. He did all of this while I worked remotely in my office. When he left, you couldn't tell he had been here. I hope I won't need another appliance repaired in the near future, but, if i do, I will use Ryan/Sooner Appliance Repair again and again. read more

Every part of everyone else's poor reviews on here is exactly what I've experienced with Sooner Appliance Repair. I'm angry that I have to even give him 1 star! I have been going back and forth with Ryan since JUNE 15th, and as I type this on September 23rd, the issue with my ice maker/refrigerator still isn't resolved. Shame on me for letting it go this long- getting responses like "let me check my schedule" (and then giving him the benefit of the doubt, trusting that he will in fact do that.) Only to not hear anything back until I have followed up 15 more times... If you can't or don't want to fix my ice maker Ryan then please just tell me! It's actually a super simple concept. It's called communication, and is a basic thing we do in every day life, but ESPECIALLY when you're running a business and charging people money. We found Ryan on Yelp, and we are so glad we did! What a difference in the service quality, professionalism, and knowledge. He did an excellent job for us. Ryan was very responsive, and when your refrigerator is leaking water, you can't wait a week for somebody to Service it. Ryan was here the next day. We had contacted our warranty service through Samsung and LG, and they sent out their service people before Ryan, and both service professionals misdiagnosed the refrigerator and the washer. I continued to have problems with both of them before Ryan. As soon as he got here, he made us feel so comfortable., He was very personable and dedicated. He went up and above the original service call and helped me answer a few basic questions and diagnose our microwave. I would highly recommend him; it is hard to find a good quality shop where the owner does the work and cares about his customers! read more

I wish I could leave a better review for Sooner, but I wanted to share my service experience with them. We originally reached out to another place, but they were busy and recommended Sooner. We had Sooner come out and look at our refrigerator, which had quit working altogether a day or two before. They quickly identified the problem and said they'd be ordering a part for it, which is heavily back-ordered. We decided on expedited shipping and was advised it'd be received in 4-5 days. 5 days came and went and I hadn't heard anything from them, so I had to call them to get a status update. I left a message for the tech and didn't get a call back, so I had to call the main line and left a message with them. I then got a call back from the tech advising they haven't received an update yet, but they'd call me back at the end of the week to let me know where things stand. The end of the week came and went and I didn't receive any updates, so I had to call back both numbers again only to get a screenshot of the order status in return. A call would have sufficed, but what was interesting about the screenshot was that it showed the part wasn't ordered until DAYS after they initially came out. Fine, whatever, as long as the part comes in. The part comes in couple weeks after it was first ordered and was quickly installed, no problem there. Fast-forward two weeks and my refrigerator is acting the same as when it was going out the first time, so I contacted the tech again to see what my options are. After leaving a message they texted back and we set up a time two days later where he could come out. That day comes and they call hours before saying they may not make it and are trying to find another tech to cover. No problem. I say I'm out at a certain time but they can come later if they want. They understood and said they'd try to get someone out still. My original time comes and goes without hearing from them. At the time I'm scheduled to be out I get another text saying they couldn't get out to my place, which is obvious at this point. I then canceled the service call because of a few different reasons, mostly based on the fact I'm not satisfied with the service and didn't want to be strung along any longer. Here's why Sooner gets a low rating: 1. I am myself in a service industry, so the fact that I had to be the one to initiate getting updates isn't satisfactory, especially when it's a major appliance like a refrigerator is out of commission. This didn't happen just once - it was every time. Whenever I was told I'd get an update at a certain time, I never got it and had to follow up a day or two later to ensure I got it. 2. The reason the tech wasn't available to come out this last time was something that was certainly known in advance and should have been taken care of there internally to ensure the service call was covered. I'll save the tech the embarrassment of the excuse, but just know that it was something that is certainly able to be planned around. 3. Seeing that the part was ordered days after they initially came out, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that it took that long. Whether that actually affected how long it took to receive the part isn't relevant (because it probably didn't), but the fact it took that long to actually order the part makes me wonder about overall effort. Sooner receives 2 stars instead of just 1 because the technician was actually a nice guy. He was nice in person and was quick with identifying the problem and installing the board when it came time for the repair. However, the rating is still low because of the level of service and the excuses. read more

Sooner has been at my home several times to repair our dishwasher and our built in fridge. I do believe they are honest and are knowledgeable about repairs. However, my low star rating is due to incredibly long waits for parts to come in (7 plus weeks) on 2 occasions and little to no communication regarding these. I had to chase them down several times for follow up and constantly moving estimated arrival times. Super frustrating. Before all this came to light I had recommended them to a friend for her dishwasher repair. She experienced the same, to the point where she gave up and ordered a new dishwasher. I understand that things occur out of their control but Sooner's lack of communication was so annoying. Don't tell a customer parts will come in in a week or 10 days and go radio silent for weeks. Having said all this, I liked Sooner in that I did not feel they were trying to upsell me and I appreciated that. I you do use them I suggest that you ask for specifics when a part might arrive. read more

Ryan is full of excuses and promises, but the bottom line is that we did not get what we needed and he disappears. Now we have to hire someone else to complete the repairs. Sooner earned my vote after repairing my oven hinges which failed after a few months, but were under warranty. They realized that a part of the door was damaging the hinges so they replaced both parts without labor charges and Andrew even took a quick glance at my ice maker. When my refrigerator stopped working correctly I sent a quote request via Yelp and Ryan was extremely fast to respond. Not only did he ask several follow up questions to better understand the issue, when he arrived to look at the refrigerator it was absolutely clear that he knew how all of the various components of my GE model worked. I think that's a big deal considering how many brands, models, and differences there are. This is a different kind of appliance repair company. They are professional, fair and honest. We had a problem with our Samsung refrigerator. The freezer side was not able to keep things fully frozen. The tech (Andrew) came out, did a full inspection and diagnosed a coolant leak somewhere in the system. He gave the fridge a re-charge so it would hold temp until some parts were ordered/received. Samsung parts take a LONG time (nearly 3 months) and Andrew warned of that, estimating 7-9 weeks. Here's the best part. He came back with the parts and after doing another level of analysis concluded the leak was not in the parts that had been ordered, but in the lines buried in the back of the fridge. Those are not simple to get to. Additionally, since the re-charge held for almost 3 months the leak was either pin size and would take another 7 years to become an issue, or the dye he injected to help find the leak had plugged it. The end result was that a potential $1,000 repair became $200. Note that he could easily have replaced parts and I wouldn't have questioned it. Wow! That is not only rare in the appliance repair, but auto repair, HVAC repair...you name it. I will not hesitate to refer business to them and use them again. If I need another re-charge it'll be $100 and that I can live with for a while versus spending $4K on a new fridge :-) read more

Sooner Appliance Repair responded and performed the repair on my dryer the same day. Lenny was very competent and quickly diagnosed the problem and performed the repair (replaced heating element on dryer). The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is the estimate given over the phone to replace a heating element was $150.00 but I was charged $170.00 and that supposedly included a $25.00 discount? That means the charge was actually $45.00 more than quoted. Not sure why the estimate would have increased so much as it ended up being what was discussed on the phone. read more
