I was contacted by Ms. Shelley Carlo a few days after I posted this review. Ms. Carlo is the Claims Operations Supervisor for Sonsio Vehicle Protection. The first thing she said after she introduced herself was an apology for the way my claim had been mishandled from the beginning. She gathered some information from me about the claim and said that she would be coordinating with the dent repair guy I preferred. She told me that she was confident that we could work out some kind of a settlement. Ms. Carlo was very professional and easy to work with. She was determined to make this right, and she did. By April 17, a significant payment had been applied to my account at my car repair place, and the repairs to my truck were on the schedule. I have upgraded my rating for Sonsio to four stars based on Ms. Carlo's exemplary performance and Sonsio's willingness to set this matter straight. I would have liked to give Sonsio five stars if the process had gone smoothly from the beginning, but it didn't. read more

These people talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. The absolute worst vehicle warranty program in the world! Avoid this trash with a 30 foot pole. They drag you on and on, make excuses in a hope you will go away and blame everyone else except themselves for the woeful service. No way a clear cut claim should drag on for over four months. Don't pay for this. It's a huge inconvenience. You have to put in all of the leg work in finding the maintenance provider then send in a quote for approval. I really regret paying for this would rather just pay for things as needed. Would do zero stars if possible. I just needed a simple key fob replacement which they claim to assist with. read more

going on 5 months and I am still fighting them. I had the coating to protect a lot of issues, one of which was Fading, my contract says it protects against fading VERY CLEAR IN THE CONTRACT. well, mine faded and they are not doing the right thing. all the experts they sent me to say the same thing, the truck needs to be re-painted. to this day Sonsio has not paid for what they warranty. Filed a claim for tire damage with this company & they denied it saying we didn't have prior authorization. When we showed that we did, they then denied it saying that we didn't keep the tire (we took pictures of it & the roadside assistance guy disposed of it, keeping a large tire wasn't feasible). When we explained it they then changed their denial to say it was denied because they couldn't guarantee what the cause was (even though the repair guy showed us & we had pictures of the broken belt, the tires were just one year old). Don't waste purchasing a protection package from this company, they clearly don't want to pay claims. I usually don't post yelp reviews but this company was so bad & kept yanking us around that I wanted to warn others to not be scammed by them. read more

This company should be shut down. I had to jump through numerous hoops to get my claim paid. They asked for photos, you give it to them. They want even more photos. They ask for the invoice, you give it to them. Then they say they didn't receive it. I basically had to end up threatening them by going to the BBB if they didn't pay the claim. read more

Joe L.'s review on 1/6/21 is exactly my experience. I had a covered tire hazard out of state & was told by a Sonsio representative to keep my receipt. When I returned home and tried to file the claim, they first told me they wouldn't pay because the warranty had expired (after my hazard incident). Then they told me they wouldn't pay because the facility I used should have given me a new tire instead of repairing the damaged one (how am I to know that?!?!). So they truly are looking for any reason to deny what should have been an obvious covered claim (and a replacement tire). I will NEVER use this company again. Each time you talk to someone on the phone, which I did to get clarifications on their instructions, you get a new set of instructions. Same as the others, send pictures of the tire, then they wanted multiple pictures of the invoice and installation invoice and inside of the the tire. No problem... Then they asked for a picture of the puncture going all the way through? I already had the tire swapped and the shop disposed of it! How am I going to get more pictures? Was a supposed to sit with a used tire at my apartment for weeks while they asked for more and more pictures? It's just free feel good insurance, but it's not worth anything. I guess you get what you pay for... so many online tire stores, i'll be looking elsewhere than Tire rack. Edit, got a follow up call from a supervisor, who explained what may have happened, and was able to help me resolve the issue. still some hoop jumping involved but happy we were able to work it out. read more

If I could give one star I would. Tire Rack should be ashamed using this company for warranty claims. Same experience as others. Jumping through hoops, photos, photos, photos. Receipts of original purchase of tires, two replacement tires, photos of two tires on ground with cuts in them, pics of each tire with the sidewall showing size. Just spoke to "Mo". Supervisor "Derrick" is going to overturn the denial and send me a check for the one tire. The check they supposedly sent on Nov. 18 will have to be looked into through accounting and resent. this company intentionally makes it impossible to file a claim in the hopes that you will just give up and they won't have to pay out!! read more

They claim warranty on tires, yet only give you $58.09 for a replacement tire that costs $291.89. So either Nissan dealer is marking up the tires by 70% or this warranty is a sham. read more

Made a Yelp account just to note how stupid my experience with Sonsio has been so far. Despite reading through Tire Rack's and Sonsio's claim photo guides, my experience so far has been poor. I sent them plainly attached JPEG photos of the tread, DOT, damage, full tire view, invoice AND receipt for the new tire and install with technician notes about being unable to patch. Instead of anything helpful I was sent back 4 confusing emails. "Paperwork Missing for Claim XXX" "Final Notification : Action Required for Claim XXX" "Friendly Reminder, Please Ship Tire for Claim XXX" "Missing Documents for Claim XXX" All of these emails contained different requests, signatures and contact emails for Sonsio. Each of them requested something different, with only some overlap. Not to mention the reminder to "ship the tire" didn't have anything to do with shipping a tire in the body of the email and instead requested another picture of the screw. I can't comprehend how anyone deals with these people read more

I had a smooth experience with Sonsio. I didn't have to pre-auth since it was after-hours PST when I had the issue. I think what's essential is reading ALL of the terms and instructions on TireRack. After sending in 2-3 photos, an invoice, and some necessary information, a check showed up in 6 days for the cost of my tire. Nothing unreasonable happened at any time when I called, emailed, or interacted with these folks. My thought is that many people have such a short attention span they can't spend 5 minutes to research the terms of the agreement. The frustration is confusion from not paying attention to what's being asked. At that point, they likely become abusive, and who knows what happens from that point. All you need to know is I submitted my claim 12/27, and my check was postmarked 1/02 -- nothing else to the story. read more

I mailed the invoice in, and after several more weeks, the company denied my claim due to lack of paperwork. Ridiculous--I followed their claim directions to a T. read more

Sonsio is a trash corporation they are hustlers and robbers shame on you I purchased 1500 dollars of rims and Michelin tires and thought I was good with the road hazard little did they tell you that your gonna pay out of pocket then they will reimburse you well I ended up paying 230 for a tire to be mounted and balanced on my car then sonsio had the nerve to tell me that they don't pay mount and balance they don't pay taxes so they paid me 165 for a tire that now costs 185 they also said they would pay for the replacement of the tire or the price of the original tire whichever is less these guys are crooks if I could I would give negative stars but after looking at yelp I can see they are trash TIRE RACK YOU LOST A CUSTOMER DO NOT USE SONSIO Now I have to road hazard my tires through a tire shop to get the service I would like and piece of mind read more

Terrible insurance company. Sonsio handles tire racks insurance claims. I've been back and forth with them over 20 times in the past 6 months for the same tire. Sending them 15 photos, had the shop that replaced the tire contact them twice and they still won't cover the damaged tire. The tire shop tells me it needs to be replaced. Every time i call, the person that picks up is rude. Honestly, the worst company i've dealt with in a long time. If i could give them negative stars i would. Don't buy your tires from tire rack as long as they use this terrible company. read more

I had my car jumped, and was provided a pdf receipt. I forwarded the pdf directly to Sonsio and later received a letter stating that I needed to provide a "legible copy" of the invoice. The letter referenced the correct invoice number, so obviously there were no legibility issues. If there were legibility issues and Sonsio wasn't awful at customer service, they would have contacted their own service provider for a legible copy of the invoice instead of hassling their customer. It's been over two month and my claim has not been paid. Had I know how terrible their service was, I would have walked accross the street, bought jumper cables, and had one of my coworkers jump my car. I only used their horrible service because it is offered as a free perk at my mechanic and I figured I might as well take advantage of it. Never again. Even if they eventually pay the claim it wasn't with the hassle. read more

sonsio denied my claim for "incomplete information received". i took photos of the damaged tire and sent them everything they asked for. i have purchased 50 or so tires over the years from tirerack and needless to say i will never purchase from tirerack or sonsio again!! i knew the 'road hazard" was too good to be true. i will be negatively reviewing this poorly ran company everywhere i can on the internet so that other potential customers know that they do not honor their road hazard warranty! read more

Sonsio is the insurance company for claims on tire defects for tires purchased from online retailer Tire Rack. The insurance company is a total scam and will never pay a claim. Our tire damage was a road hazard and the damage was in a repairable area (not the side wall). Taken to 3 shops and they all agree it can't be repaired. Made a claim with Tire Rack and got sent to Sonsio. Followed thru with their demand for about 20 different pictures and sent it all in. SURPRISE, claim DENIED. Buy from Tire Rack at your own risk because if there's a problem your guarantee is useless. I urge Tire Rack to get a legit insurance company because Sonsio is a scam and they will destroy your business. read more

I purchased Tires from Tires-Easy.com with a Sonsio Road Hazard Warranty. I picked up a nail and had to get the tire patched. The tire was 8 months old. It cost me $25 to get the tire patched all labor. I submitted the claim to Sonsio on June 5, 2017 via email. They emailed me back asking for the full invoice for the tire repair. I emailed the full invoice as my address was not clear on the first copy. On July 27, 2017, I received my check for $25. 52 days from the initial claim. In my view that is very good and I got my tire covered under the Road Hazard. I might be in the minority but I am very pleased with the communication and time to resolution from Sonsio. read more

I bought tires on TireRack almost 2 years ago. One of them got a puncture that was not fixable by my local shop. I bought a new tire at the shop, put the tech on the phone with Sonsio, scanned and emailed the resulting invoice back to Sonsio, and within days had a check that covered the original cost of the tire. I can't speak to the experience of the other reviewers, but I'm completely satisfied. Great service. read more

Ok, submitted a claim for two tires. Got an authorization #920478 from Sonsio submitted for payment DENIED! What? Please help me understand? Our business paid for the tire, they told us that they are now secondary, mmmm. Seems fishy. Did I, a company, still pay for a tire that included a payment to them for this warranty? I have been hearing Tire Rack! Tire Rack! Tire Rack! for years on NPR. Finally, went for it. Delighted with the ship time. Delighted to see 2 year road hazard insurance! 10 days later, stranded on Christmas Eve, a thousand miles from home I found myself with a flat. After a few hours trying to find a tire shop open we removed the nail and did not find the leak. Arriving home after inflating the tire daily I had it repaired. Only to be denied because my receipt was handwritten for the repair. Supported with photos as per their draconian rule book kindly sent to me in a pdf. I don't know what sort of advanced degree in technology they require, but the guys fixed my tire and wrote legibly. Jarod is a subhuman and should never darken the door of any establishment that has "service" in it's name. I have requested that he send me a recording of his call and he said he'd "get back to me, early next week." Holding my breath. While Tire Rack has been good, I'm inclined to find another source in the future only because they use this company that apparently is populated with pre-Obamacare health insurance reps that are trained to deny every claim until the claimant grows tired or dies. read more
