The nice X-ray tech took me back and was very professional and concerned about what brought me in today. He asked me a few questions, took my X-rays and I was out in 10 minutes or so. The facility opens at 8am, however the X-ray side doesn't open until 9am so keep that in mind if your going for X-rays.

They couldn't be bothered to put a notification on either their phone message or their website?!

After arranging to make payment with my HSA account the office went ahead and illegally used my debit card to run full amount, which I knew I didn't have enough for which is why I gave them my fsa card. Now they refuse to fix it for me and give me anything saying why they illegally used my card without authorization putting me in a difficult situation. Don't go to these people they are doing thing illegally and don't actually care for patients well being. All they care about it money. Worst place ever will definitely be telling my insurance and primary not to refer pts here.

I went to Quest at 9:30 a.m. My appointment wasn't until 10:30, but since I was already out running…read moreerrands and in the area, I decided to see if I could be accommodated as a walk-in. When I arrived, the waiting room was empty, and there was no one in the back having blood drawn. The phlebotomist told me she needed to take her break, so there would be a wait. While I found the timing surprising since the office had opened at 8:30, I understood that I was only asking to be seen as a walk-in and didn't mind waiting. A few minutes later, another man came in and asked if they were taking patients yet because he also wanted to have his labs done early. I told him, "No, she's on her break right now, and even before that nobody had been called back while I've been here." When the phlebotomist returned, she called the man back first. He told her that I had been there longer than he had and that she should take me before him. She replied, "No. She has a 10:30 appointment. It's your appointment time now." At that point, I left because I wasn't willing to sit in the waiting room for another hour after arriving early to see if I could be accommodated. I returned at 10:15 for my scheduled appointment, only to find the doors locked and no one in the waiting area. I then tried calling Quest to find out what was going on, but that turned into a complete circle. I looked up Quest's phone number and sat through a long hold before finally reaching a live representative. After explaining the situation, I was given the phone number for the very Quest location I had just left--only to discover it was the exact same number I had originally called. There was no direct way to reach the location or get any information, making the entire process incredibly frustrating.

When I came in the whole place was empty to my surprise but I was glade hoping I could be seen right away. I think there has been many insurance changes and maybe that is why it was so empty. Come to find out there has been many new policy changes one being u could not be seen unless you tried and were unsuccessful to be seen by your primary doctor first before coming to them which obviously I did not know that change.So they have u fill out a short form stating just that that tried to be seen by your primary and was not successful so I called my primary and they did not answer and they were almost closing as it was Saturday n they closed their clinic at noon so thankfully for me they did take me in to be seen. They close their facility at 2pm on Saturday. So I filled in my new patient information and the nurse took me back for my vitales blood pressure height n weight then directed me to the room where the doctor would see me. I sat n waited just a couple min and the doctor saw me asked me my symptoms and checked my ears n heart and oxygen thing on finger. She prescribed my medicine n sent it to my pharmacy and I was done to go home n wait to pick up my medicine. So I was very grateful for my experience the doctor was a woman and was very pleasant n treated me well and I was in and out in a very short period. The inside of the office looks lit up with light n clean and so was the waiting room n exam room. I would recommend this urgent care to anyone who needed it. God knows I did that day.

However, when I arrived, I was told that they don't actually go by appointment times -- the online system is only used to check you in and verify insurance. Patients are still seen in the order they arrive, regardless of their scheduled time. If the online system is simply for pre-registration, that should be clearly communicated. It's frustrating to be told to make an appointment to avoid waiting, only to find out that you still have to wait just like a walk-in. Transparency about how the process really works would make a big difference.

Doc was supposed to be back from his break at 7pm but rolled in at 7:20 (8pm is closing time). They won't call in your prescription, you have to physically drop it off. Let's face it, you're going to urgent care because your regular doctor can't see you soon enough or it's after hours. Avalon gets the job done if you just need some meds and you get there early enough. Tips: Call first to make sure the doctor's break isn't coming up (he's the only doc there). Expect to wait at least an hour. You can wait outside for fresh air and they will get you. Don't cut it too close if your pharmacy is closing soon. I arrived at 6:30pm, was out of there by 7:45pm, made it to Vons pharmacy by 7:55, and by some miracle they filled my prescription by 8pm closing, but only because I begged (it was for my sick little boy). That was unnecessarily stressful because I waited to the last minute to go, hoping my kiddo would improve. Avalon is the only local urgent care that takes my insurance, otherwise I might go elsewhere where the doctor is friendlier. But given my limited options, I make the best of it.

Even though the waiting room was EMPTY they said to come back at 2:30. I asked if I could get on a list and the woman just waved me away and said come back later. She barely looked up from her mobile phone.
