I have to admit i thought we were being pranked when we entered our room. We looked for the closet and then realized we were actually in the closet, they had just added a bed. We were just looking for a place for a quick overnight and we tend to enjoy historic, downtown hotels like this one. This hotel was obviously just renovated and was very clean, but when we got to the end of the hallway on the second floor and had to go down half a floor to a small section of 3 isolated rooms we thought things were a little funky. It was past midnight so we just wanted our bed and did not do anything about the fact that room 244 (I think) was just some rejigged storage room that had an old bathroom attached and barely enough room for the queen bed. There was no room for a dresser or closet and the shower could barely produce warmish water. The door to the bathroom could not close and the gaps around our front door were so big that the hallway lights flooded into our room. It was hard for 2 people to get around each other for such a snug of a room it was. But, the funniest thing to us was that with so many things missing, it DID include coffee pot on one for the night stands (priorities, right?):) This room is an afterthought, and with the price we paid it did not reflect well on what might be a nice place and experience for others. At least put just a single bed in it so there is room to move in there, and then maybe they could add a dresser. We did not bother to take the time to address our feelings, because we were up and out early the next morning and it gave us a running joke for the rest of our road trip. read more

The Sonora Inn is an historic hotel located in the heart of Sonora! It's a beautiful old building with a lot of charm and history. I enjoyed the old style of the bathrooms and took a long hot bath in the deep old bathtub that you can't find anywhere. The rooms have modern beds that are very comfortable and clean and upscale sheets and pillows. I love the old style of elevators back from the 1960s maybe or early days when I was a child. We had a nice new air conditioning unit that cooled off the room very nicely. I recommend you check it out and have an open mind about the way things were back in the day. read more

We drove about four hours out to get to this hotel, it has a gorgeous exterior, and offers close proximity to the downtown area, however we were turned away upon arrival. They told us we couldnt check in due to us being 20, not 21. Nowhere on the website, or in the terms of service does it state anything about a minimum age requirement. When we were turned away we were promised a refund as we weren't able to check in, few days later they charged our card anyways, absolutely unacceptable service To the owners, please update your website to reflect your true policies. read more

From the moment we walked in the door we felt so welcome, and the enthusiasm from Bryanne at the front desk got us so excited for our trip. She was extremely helpful and had so many recommendations before we even had to ask what was going on in town tonight. Her warm and inviting attitude set the tone for an amazing trip, and we are thankful to have been helped by her! On top of everything else, we requested two rooms close to each other, and she upgraded our rooms to ensure that happened when other options booked up. I stayed at the Sonora Inn four times this year when I went skiing at Dodge Ridge. I drove up from San Jose. Really like this place. Restored old hotel in a great location downtown with a basic but good continental breakfast in the morning and a friendly staff. 0 Stars - Maybe as Last Resort if your in Sonora, CA if you had a choice of sleeping your car. The Goods: My room looked clean. The TV is decent size. It is a historic place for Hollywood elites back in the day. I can take a squat and lean over to brush my teeth at the same time in the bathroom. The Bads: There was no place to set my luggage in the room. No hotel store to buy water if you checked in late at night, so it's faucet water for you. There is a vending machine outside, but they are a cashless hotel that can't give you change for the machine. The pillows need replacing. There is no microwave. Be sure to bring your own soap and shampoo, because you get a tiny wafer bar of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo. The shower water pressure was worse than a 3rd world country hotel I have been to. They are not business friendly, because if you finish your job and don't give them a 24 hour notice, they will price gouge you an additional day and label it as early check out. Overall, I had a pleasant one-night stay at the Sonora Inn. I want to call out the excellent customer service at this business. Before making my reservation online, I called and spoke with a very kind person named Jaron who answered all my questions and laughed at all my jokes. I reserved online and checked the box to sign up for an account on the site. I called the front desk to advise of my arrival time, and Christine was very helpful. She advised me of the closing times of restaurants (usually around 9pm). When I arrived, she helped me stash my items in the office so I could pop down to the Thai restaurant for some take out before they shuttered for the night. Grisham was friendly and helpful - he helped me carry stuff to my room as I now had a bag of takeout. I had a room with a king-size bed on the 3rd floor over looking the back of the building. I was concerned about noise, but the AC unit in the window created quite a lot of white noise, so I realized that wouldn't have been an issue. The bath tub was wonderful - a very clean, tile-enclosed old style clawfoot tub that was plenty long and deep for a nice soak. The bed was clean and comfortable. I didn't hear anything from any of the other rooms. I used the fridge and microwave in the room - they were clean and free of any signs of wear or use. Sure, the much maligned carpets are a bit dirty looking but what do you expect when you have a high volume of guests who never take their shoes off in the rooms after going hiking / camping / rodeo or whatever? I brought shower sandals which I wore in the room - I don't expect hotels to have floors as clean as my home where I enforce a strict "no shoes in the house" rule. I was surprised that the TV was sitting on a dresser -- it would have been great to have that on a wall mount with a swivel to adjust angle. My most critical feedback is for the online experience. When I got an email with a password for my "Sonora Rewards" account -- it had a password in plain text. I went to the website to login - I discovered that I could not uncheck the "Subscribe to our news" box without also putting in my birthdate which was a mandatory field. That's not a great customer service experience - make sure our PII is protected, and there's not really any reason to require a birthdate if you have a name and email address. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!! Not only did I make a reservation ahead of time, I was told in a written email that my room would be $119 a night. I come in to check in and they charged me $144 a night!! I received a receipt with NO TAXES, just the charge for the room. And then when I get into my room that they told me would take an extra 30 minutes to clean, was freaking DISGUSTING!!!!!! There was CLUMPS of hair all over the walls of the bathroom, toothpaste stains on the bathroom counters, and HAIR in my bed!!!! When I went to complain about the lack of cleanliness in my room, I was told they would go up and clean it. So I left for OVER AN HOUR to come back and NOTHING was clean. It looked the same. Stayed before, Reception is bare minimum just like the brunch in the mornings. That happens to be at the a crack of dawn 6 AM instead of 8 AM. It actually feels scarce in that environment like they're trying to hide the food or make it so that not everybody can get a chance to get the breakfast. Just tried to call for reservation help for tmrw, and see if we could check in before the odd 4 PM check-in time and they policy mongered us. So Martha Got frightened and hung up the phone on us accidentally because we were reasonably bothered by them not accommodating us in any way then talking about "fairness". Martha had nothing to say back to me when I told her that "fairness" and poor "policy" leaves everybody losing. She thought I was so upset I hung up. I was just making sense and on point. These people are used to low energy people they can intimidate. Excuse me! I'm a guest paying money! The pool is closed under "maintenance". Aka "we closed it, we're not going to get it fixed by the end of day, and we will not accommodate any hotel guests now, fairly" That's sure how you get good reviews & well known. This place seems to have regulars that treat it like a house and ask nothing of the staff because they're friends. This is an issue. Professionalism isn't at this Inn so much as it would be at in n out Of course. Then when we tried to cancel which we successfully did, they graciously charged the cancellation fee, they were trying to tell us at the pool an extra. Do not stay here don't understand Customer Service, hospitality, and have no idea what industry they are even in. This place is basically just a hotel for homeless and people trying to a bedroom to a brothel - per their own staffs attitudes. Pool when working is very nice and not crowded but basically good for 1 family max. People do not have pool side manners though here and hotel guests aren't the most normal looking, I remember, from the last visit Policy over hospitality here. No way you can check in before 2pm or use the pool if they feel like not maintaining it. They said "it's closed" like it wasn't a today thing. If you wanted pool time definitely stay somewhere else that provides hospitality and not bare minimum with older / young BOTH immature staff. The front desk manager actually argued with me. He sounds like a 27-year-old boy who very intellectual. Martha decided that she needed someone else to eloquently put forth that even though I told him my bank will reverse the charge. He's telling me that they won't. Yeah right, when the banks know that hospitality business is not providing hospitality, I will show them the receipts. Game over guys. To all staff: people pay excess money to hotels for hospitality - not for a basic room and shower. Amenities that are under maintenance. This wasn't the first time. Their pool always needs maintenance and 1/2 times I stayed it was down. Then I tried to stay this time and they basically spat in our faces (me and my lady) and charged us per their favorite word: policy. Well here's my policy: an honest review on your business. I'm a loyal customer and I won't even stay there now and will be charged $50, and I will go spend $200 to stay somewhere else. You will lose a customer, you will P someone off, go ahead treat us like crap and get your competitors paid! good job. Enjoy your brothel Inn with no pool and low energy insecure staff everyone yelped about. The only thing left for this place to get wrong is cleanliness and let's just say the carpeting on the floors look like it was done 30 years ago so they could probably use some new carpeting for the people like them who think they can just not have guests? You're gonna argue with me when I'm canceling my reservation yeah I get it. It's a weekend. Capacity is high. but we were loyal customers. They chose policy over hospitality every time and argued for bad policy instead of telling the owner that that person is a fool and helping the owners competition by letting these issues persist. read more

Hire more front desk staff, I have stayed here for work many times over a decade, I live/work out of hotels 75% of the year - and this hotel takes the cake as the most excruciatingly slow check in process I've ever endured, even when it isn't busy. 20 minutes a customer is absolutely absurd, don't blather about every attraction within 50 miles while there are a dozen people waiting for an hour behind the person you're "checking in" with the speed and excitement of creeping molasses. They can peruse the rack of tourist pamphlets on their own time ffs. If Motel 6 can service customers 10x faster than an upscale historic hotel, you're doing something terribly wrong. ONCE CHECKED IN!? Beautiful hotel, unbeatable location. Management can undoubtedly afford to solve this painfully obvious, embarrassing problem. I booked this hotel for one night on Thursday, 6/18, and was charged $245. The blonde woman I spoke to at check-in was incredibly kind. I even overheard her speaking to a guest on the phone about additional charges on their card, and she was very understanding and accommodating. Later that evening, I decided to stay an additional night. I was charged another $245 by the night shift front desk woman. However, the next morning, a different woman (not the blonde) told me I hadn't been charged for the second night, and charged me again--this time for $268, a higher rate than I was originally quoted. Once I realized I had likely been charged twice for the same night, I called the front desk to try to clarify. The woman I spoke to (the one who charged me the $268) was dismissive and rude, even though I was polite and just asking for help. She told me their system didn't reflect the double charge, said there was nothing she could do because the transactions were pending, and insisted I come deal with it the next day in person. She didn't apologize or offer any explanation--just a cold and curt tone. When I returned, I spoke to a different front desk woman (curly hair, glasses) who was kind and understanding. She checked the system and immediately confirmed what I had suspected: I had been charged for three nights instead of two. She left a note for the manager to address it in the morning. Unfortunately, when I went to check out, I once again had to deal with the same woman who had previously been rude and unhelpful. She claimed she still didn't see the extra charge and couldn't do anything until it posted. While I was trying to calmly explain the timeline, she repeatedly interrupted me, gave inconsistent information, and at one point accused me of yelling--despite me never raising my voice. I simply asked that she stop cutting me off and let me finish speaking. I told her I found her tone disrespectful, which she clearly didn't take well. To make matters worse, my bank statement later reflected a fourth charge for $256. My bank also informed me that the hotel attempted to charge my card a fifth time for $356, which was declined due to insufficient funds. In total, I was nearly charged $1,000 for a two-night stay at a hotel room that didn't even have a window. I was in town for a friend's wedding and stretching my budget to make the trip happen. I can't say enough kind things about the blonde woman and the curly-haired woman who genuinely tried to help--but the overall experience was soured by the treatment I received from the other front desk staff member, whose attitude was unprofessional, unempathetic, and frankly insulting. I don't know if I was treated this way because I'm young, but I felt completely dismissed and disrespected despite staying calm and polite. I left feeling upset, overcharged, and deeply disappointed. read more

Never stayed at such a dirty hotel in my life and check in was totally bizarre. Booked two rooms one for my teens and one for my husband and I as "treat" to finish up a week of camping with a nice hotel room and shower. . Friendly front desk clerk was fast and efficient and I was excited to go to my room. Never in my life has this happened: the room was occupied! Yes I walked in on a family watching tv, how is this even possible?! Front desk guy wasn't so friendly the second time: told me with an attitude that he didn't make the booking (as if I care who made the booking.) Finally found us a new room. Told us it was room number 338 and I clarified and asked him "338?" "Yes" No room 338. Took three tries to get to our room. Which was gross. And dank and smelled weird. I made this reservation for our family to take some nice long overdue showers but the shower was AWFUL: dirty and hardly any water pressure. A trickle. Couldn't even wash my hair. My teens in another room didn't fare much better: their shower had a roach fall out of the spout and they refused to bathe. Great waste of my money! A/C was great, room was nice and cold even with it being 100°+ outside. Nobody at the front desk asked me how my stay was or I'd have let them know. They must not ask because they know the answer. The carpet was so gross I wore socks and never took them off. My daughters pillow had some kind of white goo on it- omg. Quaint, historic inn nestled in a charming town. I'm giving them 5 stars even though some upgrades will be recommended. Clean rooms, very friendly staff and comfy beds. Staying in an historic inn you can expect some things aren't upgraded - but hopefully the below are on their to-do list. The sink has individual hot and cold facets - makes for a challenge trying to wash your face with warm water- the shower/tub was in need of major renovation. Be ready to hold onto the grab bar to step into the tub- the side of the tub is about 24" tall- getting out is another adventure. Then, once in, the attempt to upgrade the shower head was an epic fail. Water pressure was almost non-existent. The caulk and shower curtain had mold and the two bath towels supplied were poor quality. The toilet in this room was newer but we were moved to this room after the toilet in our first room wouldn't flush pee. Oddly, no plunger in the building. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend just know you aren't getting 21st century amenities. read more

I can deal with cosmetics as I'm just sleeping there but when the shower rod falls on your head at 6am it doesn't start the day off well. This one is a rough one, so buckle up. Tonight, we check in and there's some construction going on. Water, dust, pipes, wrenches, are falling out from holes in the ceiling on the floor of the lobby below. The water had been shut off and they expected it to be back working within an hour. No problem. We were going to have a bite to eat in our room before showering. Big problem- it's been 2 hours. The water is pouring brown/yellowish. The sink is clogged. And at this point I've given up on even thinking about a shower. I'm afraid of taking a shit as it possibly might shoot back up on me in some furious vengeance from the pipes below. That's just the bathroom. The bedroom is a litany of other issues. The sheets look like they were used in a pig pen but the staff only managed to lightly sprinkle it with water and called it good. If the floor was vacuumed, the damn thing is broken because it didn't pick anything up. Notwithstanding it looks like it needs more a shampooing than a vacuum. The walls are botched with holes and scuff marks. I see the high marked reviews for this place, and I'm confused by what I'm seeing on the webpage and their experiences versus what I'm experiencing. I'm literally afraid to sleep in the dark here for fear that some mishap might occur overnight. The toilet exploding. The pipes bursting and filthy piss water pouring on to my face while I slumber. A creature crawling out from underneath the cot and feasting on me. Needless to say- I believe in places picking up and making changes necessary to accommodate future guests. A one star review doesn't and shouldn't mean that an establishment is forever locked in that rating. But it'll take quite a bit of effort to improve aesthetic, functionality, and cleanliness of the Sonora Inn for someone such as myself who had such a sucky experience to even consider coming back. This location is pitched as a historic location in downtown Sonora and it is. My wife and I were very excited to stay here during our spring break as the last 13 months have given us little ability to travel and discover charming small towns. We were very excited to book here for what seemed like a reasonable rate at a fascinating hotel. There are even ghosts that haunt the place! The problem is that this place is haunted alright - by horrid and apathetic management. My wife and I arrived to our room and were initially a tad disappointed. The windows were hard to open and faced the immediate building which did not offer any nice views. The windowpanes were not cleaned and it seemed like no one has cleaned them for awhile. Dear reader, this is not the only thing that had an indeterminate date of last cleaning, and I will now describe all of them to you: The sheets had a film on there (not a piece of cinema) and felt like they had not been cleaned in a week. I'm pretty certain they do not clean the sheets in between guests. The bed cover was also filthy and we quickly concluded that nothing had been changed or cleaned. They seriously expected us to sleep in someone else's sheets The shower had a hair in it. The hair was present before either of us entered the shower. Picture enclosed. Their lack of cleaning between guests extends to the bathroom as well where the only thing that changes is the trash. Needless to say, we concluded that our room was filthy and something needed to be done. Here is the worst part of this: after heading down and discussing our issue with the woman at the front desk, she simply replied that she could refund us for THAT NIGHT and that we could stay somewhere else. As I was describing what was wrong with the room I could tell halfway through she stopped listening, like she's heard the same story many times before. I can recognize when someone isn't actively listening and she stopped pretty early on (she also couldn't keep her mask above her nose the entire duration of the conversation). I asked that our room be deep cleaned, she said 2 o'clock was their hour to clean (check in was at 3...I probably should've done the math on this earlier) and we agreed that that would happen at that time. My wife and I arrived back at the hotel around 11:30 that evening (a scant 9 1/2 hours after our room should have been cleaned) and the trashes were taken out. The bed had the same unchanged sheets, the hair was still in the shower, but the garbages were changed. Infuriated and tired, I want downstairs to see what could be done and the answer was: not much. They were allegedly fully booked (checked and they were accepting reservations for that evening) and couldn't relocate us. The only thing the attendant (different from before and actually attempted to be helpful - thank you) could do was send a maintenance man to give us sheets. We had to put on our own sheets to replace the soiled ones the Sonora Inn just left there. On our vacation. We had to change our own sheets (which didn't even fit properly). The night ended badly and we slept terribly, again. If you don't want to manage a hotel - maybe find a different line of work? There are people who work at this hotel who do want to assist customers instead of offer them filthy rooms but they do not have the resources to do so. This goes back to management which is only as effective as it is concerned that I have a nice trip (so, not at all). Dear reader, if you are still reading this I want you to know something. If you have a booking for this place queued in another tab and you're doing a final review check - close the tab. Close the tab and book somewhere where the full staff believes you should have a nice time. I did not have a nice time and ended up wasting my money wishing I could go home like a parent who hates Disneyland. Avoid this abomination at all costs unless management changes. read more

You can see this hotel used to be quite something many years ago, but now? Location can't be better for being in downtown Sonora but parking is across the back street at their other motel, which gets filled up rather quickly. Reception reminds me a bit of a seedy hotel but staff was friendly and efficient. We got a room in a weird location where you take the elevator to the 2nd floor but then have to walk down steep stairs to the 1 1/2 floor which only has like 3 rooms. Lots of fun with heavy luggage! The a/c and tv worked well but the refrigerator had two open and spilled coke cans in it making quite the mess. Staff came and cleaned it up at once when we told them about it. Room had no phone so we had to walk back down to let them know. The bathroom is a marvel if you're a hobbit but not made for normal sized humans. The toilet is right next to the sink, I mean directly next to it, so that if you're sitting on it your face is in the sink, I'm not exaggerating. Beds were soft and comfy. Breakfast hours are weird, 6:30 am to 9:30 am, and they warn you at about 9:15 hurry and finish up so they can clean. Breakfast itself is ok in a seedy motel kind of way (no hot food). If you can get a good price (under $100 a night) this place may do but otherwise, spend a bit more for comfort's sake. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The room was large, which was great. It was the bathroom. The tile was cracked and so old mold was there, and the bathtub was stained. The products they had (soap, shampoo, lotion etc) were just bad. The soap was so thin, it broke during unwrapping. It smelled like the powders they used to put in soap dispensers in the 60's. I literally had to go out and buy a piece of soap! When I first got there, I opened windows, as there was a musty odor. The location was great, and had a nice old time feel. You can see they are working on the place, and the room had updated dressers, it had an iron and board, dryer and plenty of closet space. Of course you are going to hear the town, as the room had a view of the main drag of town. I like the hustle and bustle...just shut the windows. The heater/ac was one unit and the heater portion was great (I didn't use the a/c). Really regulated the room nicely. The staff told me the bathrooms are on the list to be renovated. read more

This place is a mess overall its under construction although the staff are nice and friendly but somewhat incompetent. They couldn't even print out a copy of my checkout bill to review. The bathroom doesnt even have a shelf and the toilet was from 1963. On top of that the elevator doesn't work and that violates state and county codes. We couldnt get breakfast because it closed at 9:30 and the road noise never stopped. There is no restaurant no bar And not even a bottle of water in the spartan like room. Two little pieces of soap in the bathroom and one chair to sit in all for $169. Check in is at 4pm and they sent me a lame email offering early check in for$35 never seen this before. There are many uneven surfaces and steps throughout that creates a tripping hazard. The place smells like 1896 and stay away from this ripoff! read more

Upon arriving to our room, the first thing we noticed was that the door was not "square" to the opening, there were gaps at the top and side of the door frame. Although the door was able to close, we had light streaming through the gaps of the door from the hall corridor. There is a step up/down to enter the bathroom, this is not marked and both my husband and I tripped several times as we entered and exited the bathroom. After the almost near falls, we had to remind each other by loudly saying "Step"!! Every time we went to the bathroom. Needles to say we were quite surprised that it was not marked. At some point during the evening the electricity went out. When we arrived to the room, we had to fumble in the dark to get to the flashlight that we travel with. My husband went to the lobby and was told, it was only our floor that had no electricity (however there was light in the corridor). He explained that they had no electrician on duty or available and had no idea when the power would be restored. He offered to change our room , but it was late, we had just returned from a wedding and reception and we did not want to have to try and pack all our belongings by flashlight. We were not able to use the shower that evening due to no light and again, the step into the bathroom was stumbled over in the dark. We really are fortunate that we did not injure ourselves as we were able to catch our balance and not fall. The Hotel has some history, Yes but come on! you can't afford to upgrade the 40 year old carpet and outdated plumbing? I've seen gas station restrooms more modern. read more

Honest review of Sonora inn king room. Overall 2 stars. Only reason I'm giving 2 is because the employee was extremely nice last night. She deserves a raise. I believe her name started with a J. I chose this hotel because of connivence and pet friendly. Parking was decent. Now the bads. The shower tiles are broken and disgusting. It hasn't been cleaned in a while. The bed sheets were stained with red spots. The towels also had black spots on them. Bed is extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. I asked to be pro rated for the day because of how terrible this hotel is and they refused. Money down the drain but lesson learned. I'm leaving a day early. There is no hairdryer which is odd because it's 2022. The toilet is inches away from the shower, I have to sit sideways on it. I called down to the front desk today and got hung up on. Waited 45 minutes for someone to show up. I would have been out by 8am but they want their money. Do not recommend this hotel. Learn from my mistake, I didn't trust the reviews. read more

Cute looking hotel from the outside. Perfect location to walk to everything. Rough when you get in the room. The room had not been dusted / cleaned for awhile. Bathroom was dirty with hair in Drain. Bed had hair in in (not ours lol). Property is no smoking but to get into lobby must pass thru the smoking area- great for my asthmatic family. We could hear everything going on outside from people yelling , car alarms, semi-trucks regardless of what time of day. Staff was nice but for 2 nights @ $300 we could have stayed elsewhere and should have. Would love to see some TLC given to this place. read more

UPDATE: We received a misc charge of $150., 8 days after our stay. Upon calling to ask about it (had to call 2 days in a row to get a response) we are informed that it's a Marijuana charge! The Staff member proceeded to explain that we "smoked weed" in the room! Well, this is not correct, we do not smoke anything nor do we use any Marijuana products, in any form. I have left a message for the General Manager, no response, I have emailed the General Manager's office, no response. We will pursue this as far as going to Court. BEWARE. They keep Credit Card information, and possibly SCAM Guests with extra charges. Hopefully they aren't scamming people, will update with the outcome. I will also leave the original rating, as this isn't the fault of the Desk Staff. For the hotel is quaint, obviously vintage. The rooms and common areas are very clean and all necessary amenities are provided. The location is great if you want to walk and enjoy the stores restaurants and bars on Washington street. The staff is always cordial and welcoming. read more

When we arrived, we got the keys to our room and when we opened the door the room was full of another family's suitcases, clothes, etc.. It was clear that the room was occupied and that could have been a very dangerous mistake. We went back and let them know, and they assigned us a different room that they assured was a king bed like we had paid for, and when we walked in it was very cramped and had a very small bed that was clearly not a king. We went back down for a second time, and they finally assigned us a decent and vacated room. The staff were friendly overall, but something about this situation was very off-putting. The hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. The bathroom in our room was pretty gross, the sink was leaky, and roll of toilet paper provided had very little left on it, and was extremely poor quality. The carpets in the room were filthy and clearly have not been cleaned or replaced in many many years. One of the lights next to the bed didn't work. The TVs are all positioned very weirdly and difficult to see from the bed. The other room we had reserved had no soap, so we had to go down and get some. The breakfast was terrible. Disorganized, and zero fresh or healthy options. The waffle maker also kept breaking and there was constantly no coffee left. There were fake flowers everywhere which felt cheap and dampened the overall quality of the hotel. When you go to a hotel you want to feel taken care of and luxurious, and this hotel did not provide any aspect of that. read more

As a normal hotel it's probably a 3. This rating is based on it being a historical inn. Considering the age I found the property to be very clean. Rooms, while small, are cozy and well kept. Bathrooms were clean while looking aged. The air conditioning unit worked great. Breakfast definitely left a lot to be desired as they ran out of juice well before the 9:30 cutoff and the garbage was overflowing with no one emptying causing folks to just leave their trash on the tables. The walls are a bit thin if you end up near children. The location, however, was excellent. We spent Saturday night bouncing between a couple bars and it was very convenient to just walk across the street when we were ready to go. For what you get the price seemed fair. We would likely say again. read more

Historic perfect location downtown the remodeled Lumberjack is adjacent -- free breakfast! Can't do better in Sonora

Place was horrible as soon as we got into the room after checking in there were hair on all the beds, towels on the floor and all the trash cans were full. The worst part was the ac didn't work so it was 85 in the room. Never come here the service was horrible. read more
