Lied to me about the "Certified" used truck I purchased. During negotiations the salesman and the sales manager told me there wasn't much room for negotiation because the Certified program ensures the vehicle is thoroughly inspected to find any issues. I took the truck in to a different Chevy dealership for an oil change and tire rotation and I was told the truck needed a front end alignment and they refused to rotate the tires because the wear on the front tires was too extreme. I reached out to Sonju and was told the sales manager would call me. So far, nothing. Beware and move on. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.​ read more

I brought in a Duramax that was in limp mode. The first week they ran up a huge bill without consulting me. With no other options close to me and thinking they must be close to having it fixed I let them continue. That was another expensive mistake. After 2 weeks, they wanted to "pause" working on it because they had no more ideas of what to do. So, after 2 weeks and $4200, they had no idea what to do. I took it home and also discovered the amp for my radio had gotten burned out while they were working on it. I took it to a diesel shop, where they cleared it out of limp mode, which was the original problem, in a very short time. They charged less than $300. Then I had to bring it to another dealership, no way was it going back to Sonju, to get my amp replaced for another $1000. I'll never bring anything to Sonju for repairs again. read more

Simple tire valve stem replacement and sent the wife in without me and now she comes back saying they HAVE to replace the sensor in the tire also causing the ticket price to triple. I called the same parts store they ordered from to find out not only is it a generic part but it's also the ONLY option they had available today. so, we are charged extra because they can't do the diligence. terrible to take advantage of people who aren't car savvy. do not go here for service. They will replace parts unnecessarily and charge you for it. read more

Service advisors were not available and when they arrived were rude. Only needed oil change and rotation, my work order was written as I needed major engine repairs! I made arrangements to buy a vehicle from Adam D. at Sonju. After making an appointment and driving almost three hours to get there, I found out he sold the vehicle before I arrived. He didn't even bother to call to let me know. He wasted six hours of my time, plus the fuel to drive there. I had prescheduled an appointment a mechanic to check out the vehicle that I had to cancel; and I brought another driver (that I had to pay by the hour) with me to drive the vehicle home that day. Then, I got all the way to the dealership, and he brought up a different truck, asking if I liked that one. I have never been so misled and upset with a dealership in my life. Adam used shady tactics and lied, trying to sell me something else instead of the vehicle I was there to buy. When I followed up later that day by phone, Adam just hung up on me. I strongly recommend finding a different dealer if you're looking to purchase a vehicle. read more

We recently leased a new truck from Sonju Two Harbors. We were told by Justin and Adam while waiting to do the paperwork that we needed to give all 10s on the survey. My husband noticed that the truck had a Class 3 bumper hitch and we needed a Class 3 Reese although the truck had a towing package. Initially, when my husband called Sonju, a manager told him that they could take care of it and would let him know when. In the meantime, the survey was completed and although almost all questions were rated 10, then were a couple that were not. My husband called again to see when we could bring the truck back and Adam (the product specialist/salesman) was obviously angry and said something like "I heard you really sliced me," and then said, "You didn't give us all 10s so I don't know how much we can do for you." After he said, "It won't be me calling you back, it will be Justin." No one called back. My husband called and asked to speak to the manager. He never returned calls either. The dealership was correct in that the truck was equipped with the hitch that was stated. However, the customer service there went to ZERO once they got their survey back without all 10s. So, buyer beware! If you want good service at Sonju Two Harbors you need to give all 10s whether or not they deserve them!!!! Yesterday, they had the nerve to call us wanting to know if we had the title for our trade although we filled out the paperwork for a duplicate title. My husband told them that yes we do but we aren't mailing it to them and they could have the manager call if he wants to know why. Again, no response.....We have at least five unreturned calls to Sonju. Management has not called back despite knowing there is a dissatisfied customer.. Next time we will be taking our purchase to a dealer who doesn't have employees who can't handle a survey which is intended to improve the customer's experience, not cause them to treat them poorly... read more

Wish i could give this place 0 stars. To start, he service team was horrible, not even subpar. Since buying my car 200 miles ago, i have found a fuel leak that was very easy to see, they never changed the air filter for the engine( has leaves and so much dirt it turned a white filter black) a oil change wasn't done even though it was clearly due. The timing for the engine has thrown itself of. I was expecting way more from this dealership knowing that they are a Ford and Gm dealership, both of those car makers have vehicles that are known for timing chain issues. They are overpriced on everything they have, the sales team knows absolutely nothing about cars. My sales guy tried to tell me my car doesn't have a transmission in it. The list of problems are only growing with this car, i hope no one else buys from them because the only way they get paid more hourly is by selling more cars. They don't care about you, don't make the same mistake i did and buy from them, go to someone else. read more

Saw a vehicle on the website and called to request a test drive. Was 95% that I would buy this vehicle without seeing/driving it. Was told that it was purchased in Canada and wouldn't be available for a couple weeks, but they would notify me when it came in. Received a call (today) that the vehicle was "...sold off the truck..." and that they would be happy to help me [I'm assuming to find another vehicle to sell me.] What ever happened to honor? Integrity? I was NOT given an opportunity on a vehicle they told me I could see. Obviously, quick cash is more important than following through with an implied 'opportunity' on the vehicle. I understand how business works, and there have been many times when I have wanted to test a vehicle and was told that it was "spoken for" - I get it. However, I was under the impression that I had "spoken for" this vehicle. I have been a Sonju customer in the past - will not be one in the future. I have to question the integrity of ANY business that puts $$$ before customers. At least I should have been given a "come see it today or we'll sell it". Caveat Emptor as far as expectations go. We bought a used truck from Sonju last month for over $20k. We wanted them to install a running board and they agreed to, adding $700 to the purchase price (600 for the part and 100 for labor). We agreed to come back the next day (1.5 hour round trip) and they said they would have it ready and that it would have a full tank of gas. When we arrived the next day we were told that it wasn't quite ready, but that they would finish it up while we did the financing and paperwork. After everything was paid for, we were presented a truck with almost no gas and no riding board. Someone drove to town while we waited and put a quarter of a tank of gas in it, and we were told that the riding board had been ordered and we would have to return to have it installed later. The sales manager agreed to have someone pick up the truck and drive it back to their dealership once the part arrived. But that was just to get us off the lot. When the part did arrive, they offered to give us a gas card so that we could drive it back and forth. When we asked for the part to be delivered to a local mechanic for us to have it installed without spending an entire evening, they initially refused to do so and then reluctantly agreed, with the stipulation that they would not pay for the labor or refund the labor costs that we had already paid them as part of the purchase. By the way the truck also stalled out on the road while I was driving home from work less than three weeks after we purchased it and won't start up again. I'll have it in to a mechanic next week and we'll see how it does. read more

WOW! Another bad experience at Sonju's! Several years ago I Had a terrible experience when my car was in for service and Actually damaged by someone in their Service Dept. - their Service Manager refused to accept responsibility for the damage. I vowed never to return. Years passed and I did go Back - BIG MISTAKE! I tried out a vehicle, liked it, was quoted a Price but decided to hold out for a bit. On the last day of the Month, THEY called me and upped their offer on my trade in. I said I wanted to check with my husband and My Credit Union where I had already been pre- approved. Then, Matt called back and said the price was wrong Now it was higher! I wasn't happy and said I needed to think About this for a few minutes and call them back. When I called Back, Matt was extremely unprofessional, highly egotistical, sarcastic, and the offer was no longer available as it had been given to another customer ! Unbelievable! read more

I took it in for an air bag and hitch recall. Those were fixed but they did something to my emergency brake that brought the brake light on. They fixed that when after a 24 point check (including fluids) was done and told me I needed a right tie rod and all fluids were just fine. I told them to fix it and they did it on a Saturday. My mistake... When I drove it home, it was smoking something terrible and 'stunk' of something burning. I went back expecting them to fix whatever they messed with but since I was already $279 into this process, Sonju chose to take no blame for the transmission lines now leaking and charged me $450 for the work and of course I wouldn't get my Jeep back unless I paid up so to speak. DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO SONJU for service!!! I'll drive to Duluth/Superior before I take mine back to these jerks. read more

they change oil with 5w30. my truck requires 0w20. I had to have the oil rechanged elswere. they did autobutler. Washed but did not rinse. Waxed over the top of the streaked mud. I took it to a body shop. They striped and rewaxed the crome but could not do anything with the paint. My truck is 6 month old but looks 10 years old. read more

Whatever you do, do not buy your vehicle from Sonju. My husband and I bought a newer car here a little over a month ago and have had nothing but problems. Head lights going out, wheel bearings are shot, oil pump needs to be replaced. Their service center is even worse. Went in because my oil light keeps coming on even though my oil levels are fine. Brought it in under warranty and was told they couldn't find a leak (not sure why they were looking for one when I already told them there was no leak) and that they couldn't do anything about it. Light still comes on and had to pay for wasting two hours of my time for nothing to be fixed. Won't replace my headlight under warranty, keeps trying to put off fixing the wheel bearing. Paid an extra $700+ for a warranty that doesn't cover anything, even though they advertise it as covering basically anything. My brother had a ton of problems with the service center here too when he bought his truck. Don't waste your time. Shop elsewhere. read more

Our Salesman was AWESOME! He took great care to expedite everything for us and provide a good experience. I had my financing in place going in, so that made that part fly by. The only thing that keeps this from being 5 stars was the length of time to actually GET my new car as they had it in to get cleaned and detailed. That would have been forgivable if I didn't have to pull over on the drive home and clean my windshield so I could actually see out of it. Good in all other aspects, lacking in the vehicle prep department. read more

No one called and no one would tell me status when I called at 11a.m. decided to go there and they said my vehicle was next and they would contact me when done. Asked for a loaner vehicle since I am here on vacation. They told me the one loaner they had the customer was in duluth and would let me know when he's back. 3p.m and still no call and the truck was done hours ago. Would have been nice to know my vehicle was done. I then get the bill and it's $310!! FOR AN OIL CHANGE!?!?! the price lists $100.99 but the service writer told me "every vehicle is different". Makes zero sense to me!!! NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK TO THIS BUSINESS. read more

Purchased our vehicle here and have used the shop for all major repairs (anything but oil changes). Dealership is 50 miles from home. Was in Two Harbors and the vehicle died. Called shop for assistance and they REFUSED to help. Would not look at car, provide a loaner car, would not offer a tow even! Service manager made it very clear that he was not going to help. Will never do any business with this establisment again. They do not give a damn about customer loyalty or your business. read more

I gave them Stock # the morning of the appoint to verify it was there, I was told it was. Get all the way to this crappy location and see them pull up in a different truck asking if I liked that one. I bought a car from here a few weeks ago. I drove from the Iron Range to do so. Although I didn't have a scheduled appointment, I was seen after a lengthy wait. The salesperson was dealing with 2 people at once. I wasn't informed about any options on the car I was interested in, they had to jump start the battery in order for me to test drive it. I was reassured it was serviced in their garage, so I trusted this was true. So I ended up buying the car. Now almost 3 weeks later, I'm having issues with this car. Come to find out, it is low on every single fluid optional! The transmission fluid doesn't even read on the dipstick, except for some BLACK residue at the very bottom. This is a Nissan, so the fluids are all extremely expensive, IF YOU CAN EVEN BUY THEM IN PARTS STORES! I'm calling the general manager right now to let them know and to see if they are going to fix this problem. I feel I was misled and lied to about the servicing of the vehicle. I cannot afford, nor can I even drive this car to get the fluids necessary. I'll be updating this review after talking with Sonju. We'll see how their customer satisfaction is really of importance to them. read more
