I was very dissatisfied! The food was dry, the milkshake was not cold, and the fry's weren't filled up to the top. We ordered at stall 2 and we waited for 25+ minutes for our food. We went in and asked if our food was almost ready. Then a lady came and she got her food but it was mixed up with ours. It was very confusing and upsetting. We got it all figured out after, but we were missing a BLT we ordered and that took a long time to make. We spent almost an hour there for one order! As we were inside waiting it was freezing cold inside of there. After when we went to eat, there were no sauces or utensils. We were very frustrated. I do not recommend this sonic. I have gone her a couple times through the drive through and they normally take about 10-20 minutes to give you the food. I decided to give it another shot and order it though Uber eats. I have had two different Uber drives leave my order due to how long the food is taking. At this moment they have had over an hour to make 3 burgers, a medium fry and a slushy and our new driver is still waiting. I'm waiting longer for fast food than I do when I go into a restaurant. We pulled in after an hour drive we were very hungry and we ordered!! Pushed the red button and our order was taken and not too long after delivered. We got the large jumbo popcorn chicken ( very hot and delicious good sized chunks of chicken) with sauces honey mustard and bbq, a large onion ring ( they were very crispy lightly battered and fried and delicious ), a giant footling coney dog with cheese and chili was amazing, then two large sodas which were very bubbly and tasted perfect with carbonation. Traveling through town on a trip and wasted 30 minutes of driving time and left with no food. Someone took our order, the screen didn't work for us to pay, we sat and sat, bathrooms out of order. We were the only ones in the parking lot. We confirmed with them they didn't have our order even though they took it through the microphone, but with the order screen broken and us not being able to pay, and after getting out of the car to address the non-service, we told then don't bother. I was thrilled to see that the new Sonic in Troy is finally here! We discovered it on a cold afternoon in February. The establishment was bustling with happy customers and the staff seemed to be having a great time running orders out to the cars. I've always enjoyed their hot dogs and went with the foot long Chicago Chicago Dog Combo with Tater Tots. Their hot dog is all beef and was on a soft poppy seed roll. The toppings were fresh and delectable too! My wife had the New York Dog, which came with sauerkraut, onion and spicy brown mustard. Yum! It was spectacular. My daughter had the Corn Dog. Delicious! I am a fan of Sonic food and whenever I am in Troy I want to stop in. My latest stop was memorable, in a bad way. I pulled up to the parking kiosk but to my dismay, the Sonic wasn't having any food brought out. So I had to go through the drive through. The card swipe wasn't working so I asked if I could use credit card. The attendant said yes. So I ordered, drive up, and handed my card to the kid at the window. He gave me back a receipt and my card and shortly thereafter, my food. The food is always good. But when I got home I had an email alert from my credit card company that my card number had been used to try to make a $20 purchase. However, they didn't copy the 3-digit security code, so the purchase was declined. However, my card the. Had to be canceled and I had to wait ten days for the new card to arrive in the mail. I did call the store that day after I got the email from my CC company and spoke to a woman who identified herself as the manager. I told her what had happened and she said she would inform the owner. I wont be going back to that place. read more

Brand new Sonic opened recently and we hit the drive-through last night after playing some hockey at RPI. There are 2 lanes available for the busier times and the wait to pay/receive the food wasn't too bad (there were only 2 cars ahead of us). Full disclosure - I've never eaten at a Sonic before. I did bring Sonic to a friend once but never partook myself. After seeing the calorie count on most of the items, this is definitely a once in a while treat kinda place. The fun part about Sonic is that they have the retro car-hop thing going on...pull your car up, park, order and hang out to get the food delivered to your car. I've never done that, either. Last night, I ordered the junior burger (no cheese)...it came with mustard, ketchup and pickles. I shared tater tots and tasted the regular cheeseburger (loaded - mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato I think...). Burgers are decent - typical fast food fare. I'm a fan of tater tots and any kind of potato product and these were not greasy at all. The kid's burger (junior...that I had) is lower in calories...so that's what I chose. The other loaded burger had too many onions (in my opinion). If I ever go to Sonic again, I'd order stuff without the raw onions. They have all of these yummy looking shakes and lemonades...total sugar bombs...might give one of those a shot at some point. Good junk/fast food. read more

I didn't expect much because it's fast food, yet I was extremely disappointed. I almost thought I was going to like it, I ordered and the guy came out very friendly to take my payment. I hadn't reached the window yet, so plus.. I thought. Fast forward 11 minutes behind one person. The medium size is small, like toddler small. The fries cold and so much salt my kid said "who could eat this?" So I traded my potato nuggets. I'm pretty sure these were fried, got cold and refried because they were dry and pretty hallow inside. This Sonic has the slowest service I've ever seen at a Sonic restaurant. I'd advice that you go here before you get hungry. Otherwise you will get cranky while waiting. The last time I was there I had to have waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes easily. When I got my food, I noticed they had literally stuck the flatware packet in with the buffalo tender tray I ordered. Not only was it messy, but it wasn't partially sanitary either. They don't refund your payment for incorrect orders, so after waiting till Christmas, you'll have to wait again for it to be remade. I didn't bother trying to get my food remade today, but the restaurant does not appear very clean on the inside (so I would of liked too, but didn't have time to unfortunately). However, we all know what happens when you send your food back sometimes, so the no refund policy is quite tainted. I don't think I've ever said this in a Yelp review before (I've written almost 200 reviews to this point 01/2019), but I think this establishment should be avoided. I've been to multiple Sonic restaurants in multiple states and I've never had a negative experience. I also have a very good baseline for what to expect from Sonic restaurants. I don't want to be that guy, but there appears to be an expansion of Sonic restaurants in Capital District NY. There are others to visit. read more

They told us to call so they can prepare, didn't realize we had to make reservations for a fast food restaurant. They were probably the best tater tots I've ever had. They were fresh, crispy, crunchy, and oozed with flavor. Normally I need cheese for my tots, but these were so good I didn't. I ordered a medium slush, 3-piece chicken tenders and chili cheese fries but requested bacon instead of chili. It took like 35 minutes for my order to be ready to be brought to my car (I did the carhop method). That's not the end of the story though. As soon as I began digging in to eat, I requested Buffalo sauce for the tenders and they poured the sauce into like small fry containers and threw them in those aluminum foil-colored bags for the coneys and other stuff they sell and they DIDN'T BOTHER to put on bacon on the fries. There was deadass maggots in my moms milkshake last night 5/15/22. They said they were having an incident so they were only doing drinks. I got a slush which was fine and my partner got a lemonade which was also fine. My moms chocolate milkshake had multiple maggots in it witching the first sip. She honestly said she swallowed some. She threw up (probably out of sheer disgust) all night. This is actually extremely serious, and we have grounds to honestly probably sue them. If there's maggots shut it down!!!!!! Definitely feels like I'm back home in Oklahoma when I order here! And bonus, this location is right on the street where we bought our new house!
