This is where I went wrong. I pondered tater tots and landed on "ched'r peppers". This was a $3 purchase of 4 chile pepper wedges with American ( not cheddar) cheese smashed on top enrobed in a bready crumbly,deep fried coating. They came with ranch dressing. In a little packet. I had hopeful visions of these jalapeno poppers I used to eat at a dive bar in Yuma with my Latino guy friends. Dunked in salsa and ketchup per tradition and chased with beer ( oh ok and shots of tequila) they were charred chile explosions of heat and cooling cream cheese or gooey cheddar and crispy coating in my happy, probably inebriated mouth.
