A bag full of the random old food he thought would pacify me.

So after ordering and waiting 30 minutes, a girl came to my car, looked in and said oh you havent got your order yet, I'm sorry, I'll be right out with it. 20 minutes later (I only waited bc my son really wanted this) I called inside spoke with mgmt and he apologized said he'd come right out with my order...he brought out 2 bags of old food NONE of which I ordered like he was doing me a favor. He tells me how the other locations are down, short staff etc...I told him to cancel my food but I needed my sons order. Finally he brought out my sons food. Glad u checked bc now the bread was so hard you could tap on it...I then went to the door and asked for a fresh bun!!! For what they charge u would expect better...I will NEVER go back...wish I could show u the video of the chicken sandwich that was so old it turned colors

Order was incorrect. Service was great. Very busy yet lacking of staff was wonderful and very apologetic for the error.

Customer service was OK. The food was bad cold fries, cold wings. I ordered then went to Popeyes across the street.

A most wretched morn at McDonald's-…read more Attend, dear reader, to the sorrowful tale of my breakfast venture, a woeful saga penned in grease and despair. I arrived at yon McDonald's in the early light, belly rumbling like thunder o'er a stormy moor. I sought but humble fare: a sausage biscuit, golden hash browns, and sweet orange elixir to wake my weary soul. Alas--what folly. The line, long as Hamlet's soliloquy, did not move but crawled, as if each patron were requesting a feast of fifty hens. The staff, though present in form, did seem lost in spirit--wand'ring aimless like ghosts in Macbeth's heath. Twenty minutes passed, though the sun seemed not to shift. I aged in that queue, a man undone by time. When at last my name was called (or rather, mispronounced thrice), I was handed a sack--a trojan bag, bearing not what I ordered, but what some other soul must now lament the lack of. Bacon lay where sausage should have slept. The hash browns? Gone, vanished like fair Ophelia. My juice? Replaced by naught but air and disappointment. I returned to the counter, voice trembling with morning grief, only to be told, "We're short-staffed." Aye, and shorter still on care or correction. In sum: Service slower than a tortoise in a tragic play. Orders more wrong than Iago's intentions. Atmosphere bleak as King Lear's moor. If breakfast be the most important meal, then surely I was doomed from bite one. I left not fed, but philosophizing. Would I return? Only if cursed. - Ty, Son of Hunger, Mourner of Mornings Past

I came to Pepper Jax in the Old Market to see if it's a more affordable spot than other places to eat here. And...with my bill coming to $15 for an entree and tip, it's not, really. But it is faster than other places and is convenient. I got a rice bowl with sausage and all the grilled vegetables, including jalapeño and banana peppers. She asked me if I wanted something (I forget what they called it but it is the juice from the pepper jars). Yes please! I don't like cold toppings on hot rice bowls (lettuce? No thanks). But I did get more jalapeños and banana peppers put on there. "You like it spicy." She said; she made sure things were the way I liked them. I appreciate that. There were not a lot of customers dining in (zero actually, although there were some people getting food to go). It is a large space there, and dimly-lit. It did not seem appealing in the winter evening, though it is probably nice on a sunny day. So I took mine back to my apartment. It is a big meal. I did have enough left over for breakfast and lunch, so that made it a better value.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

But do not let that detour you from trying this gem. I usually like to grab one of my go-to orders, like the poutine burrito or the Croque Garcon Burger, plus whatever the daily special is. Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. Despite the space being crowded whenever I come by, they do a great job of keeping the tables cleared and clean. Service has always been top-notch for me.
