Nowatas local sonic has had some menu issues with their stalls, but overall is an above average sonic compared to others.

Inside, nicely decorated. The railroad motif matched the building. Halloween decorations were strung from the ceiling. Good timing for us. The café cleared out quickly. These ranchers had to get back to work. The kitchen staff is fast; we had food in just a few minutes. My usual. My wife had pancakes and an egg. Very good food, good coffee. The building is a genuine old train depot within a few inches of an active rail way line. While I was enjoying my bacon and eggs, all that I could think of was a derailment. A frickin' big devastating derailment; like you see on the national news. What if? Could we get out of the building quickly enough if we had to? And then it started. At first a low-pitched rumble. A little vibration felt in the floor. Ripples appear in my coffee cup, Then the ear-splitting train horn, a warning of your last chance to clear the track. That train had to be rolling at 60 miles an hour. The windows on the track side of the depot were covered. You couldn't see the train. Only the flash of the sun between each car as it screamed by. Each rail car had its own signature sound. Some smooth, and then an occasional skreich form a worn wheel bearing or locked brake. That's the sound that worries me. The clatter lasted a few minutes, faded, and vanished. Quiet again. Café sounds return. Tableware clanking together and plates rattling as the tables were being cleared. (Check the video and turn the sound all the way up.) That was pretty darn neat! A real railroad depot café, that features an actual train rumbling past while you enjoy the food. Disney World can't beat this. You have to try the Nowata Depot Café. Call ahead to get the schedule for the next arriving train.

The best breakfast in Chelsea and for miles around in any direction…read more I really like this old-fashioned diner/cafe. Small cozy comfortable old building, the walls lined with historical photos and advertising. Welcoming friendly staff keep your coffee cup full and the big menu selection covers all three daily meals. Daily Specials are hand written on the white board by the counter. Grab a table by the window, relax and watch authentic rural Oklahoma life pass by on the street. Or select one of the limited stools at the counter, ponder about the weather for the day with the locals; or visit with the staff and watch Granny make delicious homemade meringue pies. As I was paying the bill, Granny walked by with a chocolate meringue headed to the pie safe (display case). It was stacked high with light fluffy whipped egg whites and then baked just long enough to give it that perfect pie suntan. The young lady at the register said the restaurant had been in business for over 30 years. It is an icon in the community. My wife and I both had the 2-egg breakfast, with bacon (came with four strips of thick smokey bacon), hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. All cooked country diner perfect. Great service. This is where you eat breakfast on 66. It may be the best for other diner style meals too. I have reliable sources that have rated the burgers here as excellent. Check out the old brick paved street on Pine St. on the N.W. side of the restaurant as you walk back to your car. Across the street viewable from our table, there is a controversial sign on the building stating that Chelsea was the location of the first oil well in Oklahoma. There are three or four other sites in Oklahoma that claim the same, as the first. An unsettled Oklahoma controversy. Quiet, friendly little town, a relaxing diner with excellent food.

Their burgers are reasonable AND aaaammaaazzzing! Forget paying McDonald's or Wendy's prices when you can get burgers this tasty! And don't leave without first trying their Hell Yeah Tots! - well, that's my preference the tots. The chef made me a peanut butter and pepper bacon jam slider for me one day - now that was my jam! My husband really likes the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, but he adds mayo and replaces the Gouda with Cheddar. The servers are always really nice and everybody's so accommodating! They're the bomb! A must try!

It definitely isn't what most people would consider a slider. My point? It's a great value. I don't know if you could go wrong with any of the burger options. My new favorite is The Belle ( Homies Sauce, Pickles, Onions, Smoked Gouda Cheese, Bacon). You must order the Hell Yeah Tots. That garlic-parm topping is amazing. I've never been here other than for lunch so I would like to go and get the full bar/lounge experience. It's a seat yourself place but the wait staff is super friendly and efficient.

Still terrific service and terrific burgers made by the same family. They have a new (to me) bison burger which was excellent. Moist and wonderful meaty flavor that makes bison stand out over beef. Unfortunately, this establishment is drive through only from Monday-Wednesday which is when we came by. Not a big deal, a bit disappointed but nothing an excellent meal can't fix and the menu looked promising However, this place is not built for drive through food. Their burgers were served in paper wrappers which within seconds the grease had gotten through and poured into my lap. The only ranch they had was salad packet ranch and they provided no containers to pour it into. Another example of how they are not set up for drive through operations. The food took a very long time to get to us and when it finally did the burger was disgusting. Had an extremely off taste like maybe the meat wasn't quite fresh and it actually made me sick. The only reason this place doesn't get a 1 star is because the kids meals came on cool cardboard cards that was really neat and the chicken nuggets were not terrible. Other than that, at least as a drive through option I can't recommend a since that is 50% of their operations it's definitely a poor mark against them as an establishment.
