I normally dont eat at sonic. Always loved the blizzards. I once ate at this same location when they first opened and had a chicken sandwich which was very nice i could recall. Upon this time our food came very fast. It was around NOON. I must say the food is alright altogether i got a burger with the special sauce they have for it. Which came with fries i had cheese on. And a chocolate shake! As much as i love tater tots, i never ordered taters! I dont know if they ran out of fries. But i ended up with cheese tots. The burger had nothing wrong with it but for the price of it id rather go save money and have a better tasting burg at Mcdonalds. Or spend the same amount for a way better burg. That sauce saved it though. But guys! Let me tell you! I am NOT a chocolate shake guy! Some guys like the sky more than the ground, some guys prefer cooking rather than eating out, and some either order vanilla or chocolate shakes. Vanilla gang all the way for me. But i don't get it. I like chocolate shakes but its a rarity cause a-lot of chocolate shakes don't do it for me. The flavor profile of some chocolate shakes are just not good to me. But SONIC has one of the BEST chocolate shakes. I cant undo that statement. For a run of the mill shake with nothing added to it or anything special to taste that good is insane. I got it twice from this place and both times had no flukes. Imagine a Hershey bar just melted in with milk. Sat in the drive through for 15 minutes without being helped, hearing the employee talking through her mic without being aware that we could hear her about how there were people waiting but still never took our order. Decided to go inside to see if I was able to get service (I wasn't). I waited for 10 minutes for a single employee to acknowledge me. Now sitting at 25 minutes without any interaction. The employee finally takes my order, I waited another 20 minutes inside of the store, still without food. The manager walks out to the drive through counter, without helping her employee. Did not acknowledge a single customer in the store either. At this point with a clear line of customers still waiting for their orders to be taken. I finally ask to speak to her, and the employee that took my food asked me to pay again before talking to her because they're computer didn't take my payment half an hour ago (it did) and that my food would be another 5 minute wait. If this could get 0 stars, it deserves it. This is the worst fast food location I have experienced having traveled through 37 of 50 states. The orders are usually slightly incorrect. The wait times are so extreme that one could go to a place like Applebee's, get seated, order, eat, and finish paying in the time it takes ON AVERAGE to get a meal served, regardless of whether it is ordered in the app for drive-in or ordered at the drive thru. This location was tired and depressing. The bathroom was dim, no paper towels. The menu was broken. Service was really slow. It took a while to get our order taken and much longer to get our meal. The staff was nice, but mostly out of sight. The fries were sad looking and more small pieces than regular fries. The tater tots were the highlight. The cheeseburger was fine, but not great. Came around 11:30 and ordered a Garlic butter cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, and tenders all after the order taker was rude asking "anything else" back to back. She slowly brings out the food and i hand her 40 dollars in cash and tell her to keep the change as a tip and she walked away giving me no receipt. We were on our way to catch a flight when we decided to make a quick stop at the Sonic Drive-in at 3808 Brewerton Road, North Syracuse. WHAT A JOKE! First, no one responded for 10 minutes to the curb-side service button to place an order. So we changed to the drive thru at that point, only to find that the speakers produced only static. Tried yelling into the speaker anyway to place the order. There was one car at the window with cars backing up behind us. After 15 more minutes the car in front was still waiting for their order but the clock was ticking to get to the airport. there is NO access to go around the car in front or to back up - STUCK!. There was an unlocked, unmarked door next to the drive thru window, with people visible inside, so I opened the door and stuck my head in to very politely ask if the food would take much longer. The very young, very rude, self-proclaimed "MANGER" named Cole, immediately threatened me with calling the police in 5 seconds. I asked to speak to his boss, and he promptly replied that he owned the place and was calling the police. I'm not thinking that a 70 yr old woman, politely asking a question is in any way threatening or requiring police. If this is the type of employee that you hire, who you think is representing your company well, then SHAME ON YOU, SONIC MANAGEMENT! If ANYONE worked for my company, who displayed 1/10th the RUDENESS to a customer, that this "MANAGER" did, he would be fired on the spot. We have been here 3 times this season. I don't know why. I guess because we hoped it would be like it was before. The wait is so long. I placed an order on the app and waited 40 minutes before going to the drive thru and they didn't want to help. We only get drinks. It's not even a meal. The last two times, we've waited forever, just to get a gross drink that isn't mixed and has no flavor. I took pictures because our strawberry drinks were red at the bottom and clear/white the rest of the cup. Each time we went!! I really hate leaving any business a bad review but this is so sad. The last two of three times I came here the wait to order is long and then the wait for food too. Definitely what I'm used to with Sonic so it's hopefully just this location and not a corporate trend. Food is fine. Last time they gave me a leaky cup that I didn't notice until I drove off. If you come here pay cash... that way you aren't held hostage and can drive off if it takes too long. It's near airport so I come a lot after a flight. It's only been the last three times so I hope to give them a good review in future. The waitresses have been nice and courteous...just not what sure whats going on in the back. first time download the app and order some food. everything was fine until I got home and reached into the bag pulled out which I thought was a napkin turns out to be a toilet paper. but the napkin was indeed under the burgers. I'd rate them 0 stars if I could. I ordered 4 items straight off the menu, then I waited 15 minutes. Finally my food came out, I paid, then had to wait another 10 minutes for change. Opened my bag to find out the grilled cheese burger I ordered was something else I didn't order. Also didn't find out until I got my change 10 minutes later (because they never brought me a straw) that my slush was also the wrong flavor. Went inside to get a refund, before I got to the counter the girl at the counter disappeared for 5 minutes, then when I asked for a refund because I'd already been there over 30 minutes and couldn't wait another 15 minutes for them to fix it she told me they don't offer refunds. I recommend anyone that wants Sonic to go elsewhere. Avoid this place like the plague, worst service I've ever encountered. read more

Let's be honest with ourselves, Sonic is barely food to begin with (why are even your tater tots sweet?!) but fast food that takes longer than a busy sit down restaurant is something that makes this location a "never again." I pull up to one of the stalls where four others are and as I've always done, press the button and ...nothing. I give them time because hey, maybe it's busy (it wasn't), ten minutes later I say eff it and go for the drive thru where there were five cars waiting. Two minutes or so go by at the speaker and someone says it will just be one minute. Five minutes later, after two people have pulled in and since left after not being afforded the same courtesy, I finally get to give my order of two burgers, two sides and a drink. TWENTY FIVE MINUTES LATER I make it to the window and am able to pay, after taking my card and asking me what I ordered the quite rude and slow person yells to the cooks to start cooking my food and she closes the window leaving me for what seems like an eternity. She finally comes back and opens the window and tells me they had to cook one of my sides fresh and asks me to pull around to the handicapped spot out front (over a half hour after it was ordered.) Another eternity later and my food finally comes out (from a guy who is the only person there that is polite and apologetic) one of my items was incomplete and one was the wrong size and all of it was stone cold... 48 minutes in total for cold food that isn't great when it's hot. Literally everyone (except the dude that runs food) should be fired, cooks, cashiers, and especially the management. Close for a week, fake some renovations and train a new crew, you will lose far less money in the long run, I promise. The commercials make these restaurants look amazing, with great food and great service. However when I got there, I was very disappointed. I placed my order and then waited. And waited. And waited. After 20 minutes of waiting, I got out of my car and went inside to find out what happened to my food. When I went inside and told them I had waited 20 minutes, the person behind the counter looked at me like I was from another planet. After explaining my situation and the manager came out, I was told my order had been lost and that's why I had not been served. The manager assured me that my order was at the front of the line and would be out in 3 minutes, I returned to my car. Where I waited another 10 minutes until my food was brought to me. When I looked in the bag, my drinks were missing as well as part of my food. At that point I had had enough and told the server I didn't want the food and to just refund my money. I was told the money would be refunded and that the food was free. I took it and left. When I actually ate the food it was very lacking in taste and had way too much sauce on the burger to the point that the buns were soggy.
