Next time reminder, skip lettuce and tomato. French Fries are seasoned and were good. Place has nice seating capacity and appears to be clean. Worth a stop corn beef, pastrami sandwich also yummy.

He became…read morean executive chef as an adult, and when he moved to CNY and decided he would open a restaurant, he wanted to provide something that CNY was scarce on - soul food and fresh, home made pastrami. Lockhart opened Harts Cafe & Deli in the ALDI shopping plaza on 31 in Cicero, with a menu consisting of sandwiches where he makes ALL the meats himself including pastrami, corned beef and pulled smoked chicken. He has a breakfast menu with platters, sandwiches, pancakes & waffles, offers different coffee options, fish fry Fridays, and Soul Food Saturdays. I went into Harts today after reading a good review about them, and I work pretty close. I LOVE pastrami, and it is not easy to find home made pastrami in the area, so I was immediately interested. Chef Miguel gave me a whole run down of what he offered, told me how everything is fresh made from the pastrami to his whole grain mustard, so I ordered a half pastrami sandwich with a side of his seasoned fries. He also has one of those machines that squeezes fresh orange juice, something I've only seen in one other restaurant here, and I love fresh orange juice, so I ordered once of those as well. He went back and made it immediately. My sandwich was fresh and hot, with thick slices of delicious pastrami on a roll with his home made tangy musatard, leaf lettuce and tomato. The HUGE pile of fries were seasoned well, and I can't place what the seasoning reminds me of, but it's different than any other fries I've had here and they taste great. A half sandwich, large side of fries and fresh squeeze juice cost me about $20. Chef Miguel was extremely friendly, and has a lot of stuff on the menu I want to try, cause I'll definitely be going back.

They have all sorts of coffee items but also breakfast, lunch, Smoothies, locally sourced baked goods, and more. They also have many shelves of retail items to buy such as hats, shirts, cups, and more. I got a Caramel latte and an apple fritter. The latte was good but I couldn't really taste the Caramel. The fritter was not overly sweet and very fresh. I forgot to get any pics but if you're in the area, stop and check it out.

It has a reasonably sized parking lot which leads into an entry way full of plants before you enter into the cozy seating area and counter for ordering. I got the keto bagel which was good, but the egg was definitely overcooked to the point of being reminiscent of a hard boiled egg with a yolk that's gone green. Staff was friendly, service was fast, and overall I enjoyed my visit. They have a few shelves of crafts to shop while you wait for your food and it's overall a welcoming place to browse or stay and drink your drinks and eat your food

I've had just about all the chain sandwich shops you can imagine, but strangely hadn't had a Firehouse sub before until very recently. Firehouse seems to hang their hat (helmet?) on supporting first responders and service members, and I commend the for that. Looking for a quick dinner, I stopped here to get a sub for the ride home. Right away, I was struck by all of the hot options they had on the menu. I was very tempted to go with a meatball sub but this was going to be a car dinner and no one needs a meatball on the floor or sauce on the shirt. I landed on the Sub on a Club - honey ham, turkey, bacon, Monterrey Jack, and the fixings. It took a bit longer to prepare than I anticipated but I think the wait was worth it. The bacon was freshly prepared and the sandwich was served warm - nice! The person checking me out and the sandwich maker were very welcoming and friendly. I always appreciate that at 8 pm on a Thursday night. The sandwich was excellent. Nice mix of meats, crisp bacon, and their deli mustard had a nice flavor. They have one of the Coke Freestyle machines if you like to full alchemist with your drink choices. Conveniently located on Route 11 and near a 481 on-ramp, Firehouse Subs is a nice spot to hit when your sandwich alarm is going off.
