See my original review for thoughts about Sonic (great for ice cream and slushies, not very good for hot food). This is an update on the operations based on a recent visit. This Sonic has done down hill a little and they need to invest just a bit more money into it to get it back into shape. I placed an order for pickup through the app. I pulled up, saw a sign telling me to pull into a particular set of stalls for mobile orders, and pulled in. Then, I looked at the app and it said to press the red button in the stall to summon the order, but those stalls didn't have any screens or buttons. So, I backed out and went to one of the normal stalls and pressed the red button. I waited ten minutes more more for someone to get to me over the intercom, and when I told him I was there to pick up the order, he told me that I actually had to go through the drive thru. So, I backed up again and pulled into the drive through, but there was some sort of impasses with two angry drivers ahead of me who'd both been routed to the drive through for things that took very different amount of time. I assume from the dispute in the opposite order of how quickly they could leave. My blood pressure was starting to rise. After a few minutes of frustration and imagining the worst for how this trip would work out, the guy working there ran up to my window and started helping me despite my not being at the window. The thing is, he was the only employee working there! He was an absolute champ. My order had gone through weird, and he was sprinting between me, the window, one of the other cars, etc., trying to make everything right for everyone. None of the systems seemed to set him up for success, but he got me what I wanted pretty darn quick under the circumstances and I was able to back out of the line and dodge any more of the chaos he hadn't caused but had to manage. The owners/management of this location are doing a bad job. Their built in systems don't work. They have an employee who is fit to run the place if they choose to empower him and give him the resources to do so. They should empower him to succeed (and pay him properly for that). If they won't, while I don't have millions to invest, I'd be willing to invest what I can in empowering him to get that business running well. read more

The good is good and juicy. But the only problem is that they put salt-wayyy too much salt on tne burgers . Im not sure if it was done on purpose ? As soon as I bit into my tripple smash burger? I was overcame by salt. I couldn't finish it,I got a head ache and I couldn't even taste the taste of the burger. The cheese and sauce has enough salt to cover sandwich. Please change the salt amount or dont put salt on the burgers. You will see a big difference. I just spent 27.00 on nothing but salt. I am so mad about this. I went through the drive-through on a late night. I ordered a chocolate brownie milkshake and they give me a peanut butter milkshake keep in mind. I am deathly allergic to peanut butter and I am so upset about this cause I was having a terrible day and all I wanted was sonic. Stopped by this Sonic yesterday to get a Large ICE Cream Blast.Was given a medium but paid for a large.Got to window and explained that it was the wrong size and was told by the cashier,"you ordered a medium".I asked for a large.Instead of giving me a large,the cashier decided to give me an additional small cup,which I didn't want..This cashier named Shamaul was really pissed and took the small and the medium and dumped them in a large cup and handed them to me.I immediately called the store and spoke to Bruce the manager and explained what just occurred.Bruce wasn't surprised,which quickly let me know that he had probably had complaints before and was aching to get rid of this guy,but he needs the help at this point in time.So,.Bruce prepared me a large blast that looked so professional that I almost teared up at his professionalism.I endorse this store,and I advise anyone who goes here that if you have any issues,please and quickly ask for Bruce the manager to sort things out. read more

Years ago, I was a fairly regular and very satisfied customer with this Sonic Drive-In. Since the pandemic and the restaurant reopening, things have gone from bad to worse. Based on my most recent experience, I wish I could give less than one star. I pulled up to the drive thru (there was no one in line) and asked if they had the pickle fries. The employee said they do not and asked if I would I like anything else. I told him I would and that I have a rather big order. (I was feeding 5 people.) The employee let out a big sigh. He asked "how many items?" I told him I wasn't sure but maybe 10. He said "dear god" in an annoyed and angry tone. He then said in the same tone "okay". I said "are you sure?" He said "what choice do I have?" I said never-mind and left. When I reached out to Sonic corporate later that night to report this, the person apologized but did not give much more sympathy than that. They offered me a Free Route 44 beverage WITH PURCHASE. I wasn't providing this information to get something in return except for the person who did this to be held accountable for it. That being said, for all my trouble, I was surprised that they were offering me something "to make amends" that required me to make a purchase. On top of it all, the offer could only be given to me by loading it on the Sonic app, which I do not have and do not care to have. I will not be returning to this Sonic Drive-In. We sat at the pull-in thing and pressed the button. No one came. We sat there for about 10 minutes before going to the drive thru. The woman who took our order could barely hear a word my mom said. She got annoyed and finished the order without ordering for herself. We had to wait like 10 more minutes for the food only for them to fuck up my Blast. Order was an Oreo Blast and they put Reese's in it instead. My mom had to repeat herself multiple times to the lady behind the microphone. When the guy came out with the food he even told her that it's an Oreo Blast. I hate peanuts and peanut related things so I gave it to my mom. She said it was alright. Food is great. Some of the staff is incompetent. We pulled up to the speaker and were asked to wait. 10-15 mins later she starts taking our order. My wife said one of the items and the employee immediately tells us "that will be $17." We weren't done ordering so my wife says the next item, then the employee tells us to wait again. 5 mins later she starts taking our order again. My wife had to repeat each item 2-3 times and at one point the employee started talking to her coworker. When we pulled around to pay the employee says "that will be $14". I haven't had sonic in a few years, but we stopped for breakfast yesterday. For the first time ever, I went through the drive-thru. Our food was good and I ordered a coffee. I was a bit disappointed to get Green Mountain coffee though. Isn't that the Keurig brand? I never thought there was anything special about Green Mountain, but it's still fast food coffee. What should I be expecting? My sausage and egg on a ciabatta roll sandwich was really good. The tater tots seemed to never end. My wife kept reaching into the bag and feeding me tots while I drove. Good fast food. They mixed up our order a bit, but they're still settling in and it was super busy. The location, while relatively convenient, was a bit awkward since the one set of stalls has you facing the southbound Dekalb traffic stopped at the light. But it's a welcomed addition to the area since we would normally drive to the Limerick location when we gave in to our fast food cravings and didn't feel like having Chick-Fil-A (which is our go-to fast food restaurant.) I don't come here very often but recently my family stopped by to get some slushies. The flavours were good, and they give you a large portion for what you pay. My personal favourite is the orange. The slushies come in a styrofoam cup that holds up pretty nicely. My only complaint about them is that you end up drinking all the flavour and then you are left with crushed ice. A way around this is to request a spoon and just stir while you sip. read more

I went thru the drive thru to place a quick order for the kids. I ordered cllassic cheese burger, (2) mozzarella sticks, a small rootbeer and an oreo Chocolat cookie custard. The mic was awful and I had to repeat myself during the order. The associate was hard to hear and I only heard the second part of the total amount for my order. After a brief wait he handed me my order and thanked me. It was not until I was nearly home that I discovered the custard item was missing. Aproximatedly 10 minutes had passed. Upon return and going to the drive thru I informed the associate of my missing item. He resonded "Oh it's sitting right here on the side for you." Alright I don't eat the normal food at sonic I think I had it maybe once years ago so I can't really be the judge of that. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoy their 1/2 price shakes after 8pm though! For the price you get a pretty decent milkshake! The strawberry cheesecake and the peanut butter Oreo are definitely my faves. We also just recently split one of the new custard concretes and they leave much to be desired. We got vanilla custard with Reese's and it was so thick to the point it didn't even seem like custard, and it left a weird aftertaste. I think I would just get a normal shake the next time. When we got the concrete, service was so slow. They only had one car hop and there was a fair amount of cars. We only ordered one concrete so our order was very simple and we started to notice those who came after us were getting their food. We were waiting for about 20 minutes which was so ridiculous. We actually had to ask them and remind them about us. However they did make it up to us and gave us the concrete for free, so I really appreciated the gesture! 2 years ago I first came to this Sonic with a friend during a lunch break between classes at Montgomery County Community College. I've been to a Sonic only a few times before my visit which were out of state, but I never really go due to lack of Sonic's in the Souderton area. I am a fan of Sonic despite how little I get to go, and I am impressed with this Sonic. What's not to love? The menu is impressive and the food just as impressive. I'm pretty much a raving fan of Sonic and especially like the East Norriton location. How can you beat a heated enclosed seating area with fireplace and big screen TVs not to mention free wi-fi? The food is a step above the usual suspects (BK, McD, Wendy's), more comparable to Chick-fil-A and you get it piping hot, not lukewarm. There's nothing I've tried that I haven't enjoyed. My go-to is the double with everything plus jalapenos. The fries are fantastic as are the shakes and drink selection. Btw, I'm not sure a lot of people are aware but they're open for breakfast. Best Sonic I've ever been to! I was there earlier this evening and I received quick and friendly service and the food was pretty good (as far as fast food goes). Their chilli cheese fries are bangin'!...Just thought I'd throw that out there. Also, there is sweet indoor restaurant portion of the drive-in with a gorgeous fireplace and nice plushy chairs nearby. I don't usually go out of my way to visit fast food establishments, but all those damn Sonic commercials convinced me to seek it out. Sonic's marketing department says "Winning!" I have visited Sonic a handful of times over the last decade, mainly when traveling in other states, so it was fun to be able to visit a location (relatively) close to home. What I liked about the East Norriton Sonic is that there is an indoor dining room. Generally, I don't like to eat in cars. I'll do it if I have to, but it was nice to be able to eat my Sonic meal at an actual table. They have a decent number of outdoor tables for when it gets nice out. Not sure if other Sonics have this as well, but this location gets props for having it nonetheless! As for the food, Sonic is pretty generic fast food. I got a small hot dog and a small hamburger. Both were pretty good, especially for the low price. They also have a wide range of fun beverages and sides. If go between 2 and 4 pm, you can get discounted drinks and sides. Service was super quick. Probably cause they are riding around on those roller blades/roller skates. Makes me wish they had Sonics around when I was a teen- I would have worked here in a heartbeat just for that reason! Overall Sonic is a pretty fun option if you are going the fast food route. read more

Wow. What a disappointment. Prior to this visit i have only had their breakfast sandwiches, loved them. I won't even go back for those. i had a cheeseburger and onion rings, my friend had chicken tenders and cheesy tots. Sadly we didn't do the drive-in thing we took it to go. I took one bite of an onion ring and literally spit it out--it tasted like a bowl of sugar. After seeing this my friend tried one of her tots, same reaction, minus the spitting out (she's classy like that). So the burger and chicken must be better, right? My cheeseburger was about 1/4" and had no flavor at all, it was tough and dry. Again, one bite before the trash can. Chicken fingers would have been good had they not been dredged in sugar batter. Oh, and for some reason the chicken came with a big hunk of sugary bread??? Not returning--in case that was a question. read more
