After soaking at Murrieta Hot Springs, we spotted this place across the street and immediately detoured for a limeade slush situation because there aren't really any nearby for some reason and suddenly I felt like I was back in Oklahoma. The setup is kind of chaotic in a fun retro way. Giant drive-thru, car hop stalls, confusing parking lot routing through the shopping center construction, but honestly worth figuring out. I got the lime slush limeade and it was absolutely delicious and also nearly medically dangerous because I gave myself one of the worst brain freezes of my adult life trying to drink 32 ounces of freezing cold happiness too quickly. I showed up around the time for my pick up. I parked in the first parking spot and checked in with the app. I was talking to a friend on the phone so it didn't seem so long but I did wait about 10-15 minutes past my pick up time. When my food arrived it was hot, the employee was apologetic and smiling. Even though it took longer, he made it a positive experience. I just wish I had gotten his name. I order some chili dogs since they were on sale. They are pretty good, plenty of chili, but I could have done without the fake cheese hahaha next time I'll just ask them to hold it. Currently waiting to order at the drive through. 10:30am on a Sunday (opened at 9). No cars in drive through except me. Was greeted with "just a minute" and then a few minutes later with "just so you know, it's going to be a 10 to 15 minute wait" didn't even ask what I was ordering... So how do you know that? It was late, almost midnight. I dropped by after a visit to the hot springs across the street. (Their restaurant closed at 7pm.) I don't have a Sonic located near me so thought I'd give this a try. I pulled up to a parking spot with a menu board and pressed the button to place my order with Devon who was pleasant. He was just as pleasant when he delivered my food on roller skates. His great attitude made the last few minutes of my bday a good one despite just minutes from closing. My chili cheese dog was good and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside. I didn't discover a utensil was included with my dog till it was too late. It was a nice thought to avoid getting messy. I learned I did not like their sweet chili dipping sauce. I was expecting it to taste like the kind from the Asian market or restaurant but it was more tangy than sweet. I favored the BBQ sauce with my fries. Sonic is probably better known for their drinks but I did not get one (due to sugar in-take plus a long-ish drive home). As a tradition my wife and I always go to this location after a day at the hot springs. On this visit we were appalled at the service that we received. We asked asked before we ordered if this location accepted Apple Pay. After confirming that they did we placed our order. When the car hop came to the car they explained that their system was having a problem and promptly took our order back as they waited for the system to work. After a half an hour from ordering , our order was brought to us by another car hop. The order was not only cold but was missing items. We asked to speak to a manager and were dismissed. They brought the burger 15 minutes later and asked if we still wanted it. Dispute this the burger was cold and the cheese was not even melted. The manager on duty offered no apologies or and regretfully refunded our order as if it was an inconvenience. Even after we received the food we were cautious to eat the meals in fear of tampering in regard to the way we were treated We were kind and patient but that did not seem to make any difference. It seems it's made with chemicals and has this fluffy fatty look, tastes off, doesn't seem as cold but doesn't melt as fast, seems like it expands like shaving cream. My wife and I drove into Sonic's carhop service section today at a few minutes to 1:00. There was only one other car in the car hop section and no one in the drive through lane. We pressed the red button to order and the button lit up so I think they heard us. No one answered. A few minutes later a car drove into the drive up and they ordered immediately. So I pressed the red button again. Another car came into the drive up and ordered. I'm on a strict diet and carefully counting calories, so I ordered a burger with no cheese, no pickles, and planned to eat it lettuce-wrap style--saving the buns for my dogs. Instead, I received a burger with cheese, pickles, and no lettuce at all. I politely went to the window and asked for a remake, and the girl snatched the burger out of my hand with zero courtesy. When they brought out the new one, I clarified again--no cheese, no pickles, add onion, right? She said "yeah" and walked off. I opened it up: nothing but bacon. No onions. Still no lettuce. When I brought it up again, she tried to take the whole burger back. I offered her the bacon if that was the issue, but she insisted on taking the entire thing.
