when Sonic advertises that they have half price shakes after eight, maybe they should honor it and maybe they should let teenagers that can't speak. This location sucks. Not sure if it's understaffed or bad management but for years now it has been slow and does not get orders right. Food is mid compared to other locations. It's clean but might be because no one comes here because they have to wait too long to get food. Very bad service, I waited in the drive thru for over 20 minutes, rolled up to the window for no one to be there, I then called sonic and got cussed out by a worker for asking if someone would take my order and said I had been waiting for over 20 minutes, there was no reason for this guy to have cussed me out for asking when my order would be took. Given the dearth of good fast food restaurants in the Southport area, this has to be the better one. Remember it is staffed by 16 year olds that make mistakes, but I have had relatively few on the 30+ visits I have made hear. First off, their Tater Tots are better than good, their Breakfast Burrito can be ordered at 9pm, (don't forget to order their own Picante Sauce), and their Sonic Double Burgers are best in a he area. You can order ahead on their App and save the Drive Thru wait. Their carhops don't wear roller skates, but who does anymore. I DONT recommend coming to this location, Food SUCKED!! A gnat flew out of my chicken tender box!! GROSS!!! And don't even get me started on the lack of sauce on my "bbq" popcorn chicken... They are extremely rude. Every interaction I had with the employees was horrible. They made me cancel the order through DoorDash because they didn't want it to affect their rating. Who doesn't like a cherry lime-aid (Diet for me, thanks) or an Ocean Water. Once a year, I get a craving for a cheap-ol chili cheese foot long with Tater-tots. Don't ask me why... I never go 2 hours without regretting it, but these guys do it right. Or the cheese curds. Like I said, once a year! My weakness is the Diet Ocean Water or Diet Lime Aid, though. I have had good luck with the Maple St location so I thought I would try this location since I was in the area. The app may be the best one on the market for ease of use. Ordered my meal and it was brought to my car in a few minutes. Ordered my burger with no ketchup. Got back to the office and started eating. Tasted a hint of ketchup. The "Asian Chili" boneless wings were 90% breading and the sauce was simply inedible. I have no idea what they were actually coated in, but it was not the least bit Asian. Like, seemingly all Sonics, this one attracts the loud, annoying high school kids crowd - but does nothing about it. This Sonic location is going downhill fast. I ordered the car hop classic tonight and was totally disappointed when I could not even see a burger sandwiched between the buns when I removed the foil wrapper. This goes down as the biggest bait and switch tactic ever. Then, to make things worse, I popped the lid off that burger to find one paper thin piece of meat that maybe covered 70% of the bottom of the bun, but it was placed on top of all the condiments. This burger, if that's what you would call it, reminded me of what a round White Castle slider would look like without holes punched in the burger, but only half the thickness. The original White Castle slider was nineteen cents for the hamburger and twenty nine cents for the cheeseburger and had a much better meat to bun ratio! I should have taken a picture of what you served tonight! The Sonic app picture for the car hop classic shows this should have been a two patty sandwich. The description states it to be a quarter pounder sandwich. The Quarter Pounder at McDonald's looks like a quarter pound of beef. The only thing that comes to mind when I look at tonight's sandwich, is a phrase from a very old Wendy's commercial. Where's the Beef? Literally the worst service I have ever received as I'm not sure I received a service. Tried to order with the digital board, it didn't work, had a guy take our order on the phone. Another person tried to order on the board and they gave up. Anyhow, the guy never put an order for us in. We waited and finally asked the "manager" if our food was being worked on. She said yes. A few minutes later (at this point a half hour) she told us our order was not put in and we could wait another half hour for our food if we wanted food. This was an awful experience far too many times now. I went to sonic to get two butterfinger blast both with double banana. One truck in front of me and very few cars in the stalls. I waited about 10 minutes for the car in front to get thier order. I pulled up and handed my card to the gentleman in the window. He ran and handed me one blast then said the other one would be right out. As I waited for the second one I notice the one I have was completely melted. Waiting for my second blast took 5 more min(keep in mind I have waoted 15 minutes for two blast already) to ask them to remake it. He comes to the winow and hands me a fresh ice cream. Now I admit I wasn't nice at this point and was clearly upset about the wait and quality. I let them know to remake me one that looks like the fresh one. He said okay. He takes back the ice cream and closed the window. Now at this point common courtesy would be to have a manager on duty come to the window. As i qm waiting for my remake I see two employees comeback from taco bell with bags of food. 3 more minutes pass and i get my ice cream remake back. As they handed me it back I noticed that it didn't get remade. They added ice cream to the center and put it in the mixer again. (Assuming bc i can't see in the wondow and thecup and lid were the same ones I handed them.) i grab my ice cream qnd go at this point. I waited almost 20 minutes for two blast. No manager, and food that was taken back through the window was not tossed(health code issue)what if I was sick and stuck my finger in it or something and you just put that back in a blender used for mixing others drinks as well.. the wait there is always bad and the ice cream is usually melted when i get it. We tried out this new location Friday night around 11:40 pm. There was one car in front of us and it took around 10 minutes to get our food. The gal at the window said it was because the car in front of us had 6 orders. I only saw one bag go out the window but gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe I missed the extra bags, maybe it's close to closing, plus they offered a free combo on our next visit. Fast forward to Sunday night, we go back for the free combo. We pull through the drive through and are the only car, 6pm. We order a hot dog combo, tots and drink. We pull up to the window and again wait for close to 10 minutes. Nobody comes to mention the delay and when she finally give us our food, the gal isn't sure if she gave us the drink. I couldn't see anyone else inside and the gal appeared to have a broken arm. I was hoping for better service for a brand new location but was let down twice in one weekend. Appears they need more staff.
