These hand held pockets of goodness are just that. They use the softest dough & add the perfect amount of melty cheese, chopped ham & jalapeños. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack, these are the perfect item to grab when you're on the go. We love them so much, we order 4 dozen to bring home with us. I freeze them & we pull them out as we'd like to reheat & eat. Daylight Donuts is our place to frequent our entire visit. Not only are the Cajun Pies alone worth the trip, the staff is pleasant, their selection of delicious donuts, bear claws & other sweet treats is large, while the setting is that of a small town donut shop & that too is delightful! Keep doing what you're doing, we'll see you on the next trip to Independence.

He had a sticker from another auction that wasn't going to sell him for 2 weeks due to 4th of July. So we pulled him and brought him here. What a joke. I feel robbed, stolen. We explained this when we dropped him off. Apparently the information went nowhere so they sold him for crap because they thought we were "traders"? I don't even know what that means!! I had to ask a cattle auction cashier where the restaurant was. She just looked at me and pointed. I found a room with some TV screens of live cattle being sold and the sounds of an auctioneer barking away. A girl appeared at the counter and asked if she could help me. I told her I'd heard they had a good burger and she asked what I wanted on it. I ordered a Cheeseburger & French Fries and a Tea. She asked if I wanted it to go... I said no, I'll eat it here. There were only a few tables but I found a spot. While waiting there was a group on local men (ranchers) behind me. They were chatting it up and having a good time and I'm from around here but I couldn't understand a word they were saying. A little fear creeped in as I was clearly out of my element. Just then the girl brought me my plate and I hungrily dug in. The first bite was amazing the beef flavor was the best I've ever had with melted cheese and what appeared to be home grown tomatoes and Ice cold crispy lettuce and great pickles. The French Fries were fresh cut and very hot and I salted them immediately. This turned out to be the best Cheeseburger and French Fries I've ever had and I've had them all over the United States. By half way through I needed more napkins the beef was so juicy that by the end I was looking for a garden hose to clean up with. I felt lucky to have escaped unharmed and I still don't know what those cowboys were saying, I'm sure they were plotting my demise so I just didn't make eye contact. The moral of the story is, when the girl asks you if you want it to go, get it to go!!!
