Every time we are in Independence, we visit Daylight Donuts daily for our breakfast!!! That breakfast very seldom consists of donuts, but ALWAYS includes Cajun Pies. These hand held pockets of goodness are just that. They use the softest dough & add the perfect amount of melty cheese, chopped ham & jalapeños. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack, these are the perfect item to grab when you're on the go. We love them so much, we order 4 dozen to bring home with us. I freeze them & we pull them out as we'd like to reheat & eat. Daylight Donuts is our place to frequent our entire visit. Not only are the Cajun Pies alone worth the trip, the staff is pleasant, their selection of delicious donuts, bear claws & other sweet treats is large, while the setting is that of a small town donut shop & that too is delightful! The best donuts around hands down, plus the workers are friendly, fast and all around great. I promise you won't be disappointed. My favorites include the cinnamon twist and the jalapeno sausage roll. read more

Daylight Donuts has been around since I was young. I've got MANY fond memories of my Mom taking my sister & I there before school which I cherish They have moved since then ironically very close to where I live. They are a busy place but there's never a very long wait. They are ALWAYS friendly. :) There's a choice of going in and lots of people do just to visit with each other daily which I think is really cool. Or there's the the drive thru if you want to pick up something on your way to work or school which is super convenient. It's always clean & welcoming. read more

Fantastic. I love this place. Very, very good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is another review on here that gives the place only four stars because there is a wait since they are always busy. That's true, but it shouldn't knock off a star. Those people are hustling and bustling, and the fact that they are always busy is telling of how good the place is more than anything else. read more

Straight off the top I'll admit it. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars, is because of the wait. Every morning the line for the drive through is lined up out into the street. When you go inside you have to stand there in line, while customer after customer is greeted by a friendly employee who actually acts like they are happy to be helping you. Along with this wait, you are forced to stare at the 2 huge glass cabinets (which are probably 200 Sq ft of donut real estate) packed full of delicious amazing treats. I highly recommend taking this time looking over all that they have, if you wait until it's your turn you are going to slow down the well oiled machine trying to figure out what you want.
