I love what they are doing with the program to get more people eating whole, fresh foods. If you are on food stamps (SNAP) and are willing to make a small effort, one can come near to doubling your benefits. Basically every $20 spent on a daily basis for foods other than fresh produce will result in a $20 coupon for fresh produce. The key is to shop and keep you purchases as close to $20 as possible. Most cell phones include a calculator. I make of list of what I need, I check sales ads to see if anything I need is at a sale price and make my purchase, then I keep my fresh produce separate (note: packaged salads that contain cheese, nuts, dressing does not count as fresh produce) but go for all other fresh produce. And if you don't see it out, don't hesitate to ask for assistance; they get new deliveries all the time. Love the people, love having a store that offers fresh deli, local bakery, and fresh beef and dairy. And the produce is the cherry on the top of the cake! I was thrilled when I saw three children picking out what they wanted and calculating price per pound for their favorite items.

Love this store!!!…read more PROS: Even though it's very very small, the variety is outstanding. Seriously, it's almost as good as a Reasor's. The fact that it's small means you're not spending 15-20 minutes going from point a to point b like you are at Walmart. Prices are decent. They honor the Homeland weekly ads so if you purchase items that are in the ad that week, you're getting some really good deals. The staff is very friendly even though they do seem to have a high turnover. CONS: The produce and meat departments are run by professionals that have been doing their jobs there for years so if you have questions, they can answer them. Unfortunately the dairy and frozen food departments have a revolving door of head clerks so those areas can be hit or miss as to whether something is in stock or not. Some days the dairy department looks like a tornado hit if: broken eggs all over the place, empty shelves, expired milk, etc. I'm giving them four stars out of five. I definitely prefer shopping here versus Homeland or Walmart.

I told the manager I could only get 4 items iut was all I had cash for he stood there lookingndown his nose at me and would not ring up the 4 items. I repeated myself 4x before he did. I was so humiliated me and my granddaughter could not get out of there fast enough. I will NEVER go back to that store even though it is closest to my home. I am 62 trs old my daughter is disabled so I have to shop for her and I have never been treated ike this!
