I visited my local Sonic to fulfill an evening crave. I am subtracting one star from my previous review due to slow drive-through service and an incorrect order. I really appreciate the manager coming out and giving me as well as several cars behind me a free hot fudge sundae because of the excessive wait. Closed early on me the first time, literally shutting the lights off 45 minutes before posted closing hours and this time, No one is here during open hours and open sign is on. Don't go at 8 am if you are in a hurry. Waited 20 mins for a breakfast sandwich. Was told they don't open until 8, so they had to let the grill warm up first. This location has been struggling for so long. The facility is in bad shape. Many of the stalls are missing or broken. The chicken strip meal was AWFUL. burned toast, soggy tots and chicken strips with wierd pieces. The meal was tossed. The DIET cherry limeade was NOT diet per my glucose monitor. It was tossed so my blood sugar went straight to 250. and those signs that say "no tap pay (app only)? Mom asked me to grab her a burger, so being the most amazing son ever, I obliged. Figured I'd order something for myself as well. Ordered on the app, grabbed the food, and ran it to Mom's. She's under the weather, so it was a drop and run. Upon leaving, I checked my burger...and it was what SHE ordered. Called mom, she came back out and we checked hers... IT WAS ALSO WHAT SHE ORDERED! I am constantly finding myself here because I must hate myself and I am constantly disappointed in my decision every time I say, let me try again. It is that darn app that says 1/2 off a drink that gets me and so I also will order some sort of "quick" bite to eat as well. The food is usually low grade and and the service slow. I always order via the app and the food takes just as long had I waited until I got there and ordered from the parking lot. Then, and this is every time, then when the sign at the stall says your food finally is coming out, it takes another FIVE minutes. Seriously, I timed this. Finally. Unless you want to turn right and immediately right again at the light, when you try to leave, that will realistically be the only choice. If you just have to have an exclusive like a limeade there are better alternatives in Boerne for burgers and chicken and you will thank yourself for not going here. We order slushes at least a few times a week from a different location. This was our 1st and last time coming to this location. We ordered through the App, checked in and proceeded to wait almost 20 minutes for our 4 slushes. ALL OF THEM WERE MELTED & WATERED DOWN to the point that we threw them away. We kept the smallest for a photo to upload here but then in the trash it went. This is so disappointing and disgusting. I know they are short staffed but seriously they put them in the drink carrier to bring out and KNEW by sight and feel they weren't frozen nor anywhere close to it. We ordered 3 grilled cheese double burgers and tots last Friday 6/9/23. When we got home to eat one of the burgers didn't have any meat. Since then I have tried calling Sonic three times no answer (phone just rings and rings to no end), tried calling the managing partner and left voicemails- no response. Called Sonic Headquarters twice and the second time they guaranteed that someone from the store would call me (6/12/23) within 48 hours and still no response. When I say this is one of the worst Sonics in all of the lands, it's an understatement. Pull up. Not even busy. Press button to order. Wait 10 min. No one answers. So I walk in and order. They look dumbfounded that I walked in to order. Then I wait another 15 min for a drink and a plain burger. Comes out and the bread is soggy like it's just been sitting in there. And no napkins. We go at about 10:30pm because we are both shift workers and it's the only thing open at this point. They're open until midnight and we are the only people there. Cool. We sit at the car hop menu and decide what we want on the app which was going to let me order on there until 11pm and then decide to just hit the button instead. It takes them like 3 minutes to even answer the button and then beavis and butthead on the other side of the speaker are giggling and say that only the drive thru is open. You can't be serious rn. The food was cold but it was alright. The food has a great taste. The location is alright. This Sonic is the worst sonic location I have ever been. They had my order correct, but left out parts of the chicken tender meal. The chicken strips had one normal size tender with two extremely skinny tenders hidden underneath . The chicken tenders and tater tots were so overcooked ( or should I say recooked over and over), that they were tough and hard to eat. The strawberry shortcake snowball treat I ordered had no whipped cream and looked like someone just dumped it in a cup. Even my drink had a cup filled to the brim with ice with very little soda.
