I was starving at work and couldn't wait to go grab a bite to eat from Sonic. I was looking forward to having a 3 piece chicken strip meal with fries and a dirty Dr Pepper, however, when I got back to work and sat down to eat (I work at the airport which is about 3 miles from Sonic) my chicken strips were over cooked, very dry and cold. The fries weren't any better.... loved the Dirty Dr Pepper though! I'm not a complainer and rarely leave negative reviews, but the food was so bad that I just threw it all away.... So that was a wasted $10, time to go pick it up and I was still so hungry and had to wait until I got home to eat. read more

I went to the patio area next to the playground, and tried to order on the machines multiple times for 20 minutes, and no one ever picked up. I decided to go order at the drive-through because the patio ones weren't working, and again, took more than 10 minutes to get someone to reach. When someone finally answered, they had very hard comprehension skills as to our order. Eventually, the order was sent in and when it said our waiter was coming, she never came. nd then the machine said thank you for your service as if we never ordered anything. So after waiting just to make sure it wasn't a mistake, I went up to one of the waiters delivering someone else's food and asked if they had my order. I have never been more rudely talked to in my life. She was very dismissive, claiming she was too busy to hear me ask if she had my order, and rolled her eyes as she stormed off. And thinking things couldn't get any worse, they got some of our drinks wrong, and forgot the main part of my meal. To top everything off, there was a hair in one of the burgers. Very disgusting, couldn't finish the burger after that. I strongly encourage y'all to improve your customer service and to fix the attitude of your workers. read more

I had got the new pickle slush and saw what I thought was a pickle on top. Once I had bitten into it you could clearly see and taste that it was a jalapeño in there. I had went to the front and asked the workers about it and not one but five workers had continued to tell me that it was "hot pickle" you can clearly tell the inside difference of a pickle and jalapeño. I was very dissapointed in the lack of concern the works gave me and continued not to own up to it. read more

This sonic is still the slowest sonic I have ever been to. That coupled with the fact that the electronic menu boards are constantly out of order, you cannot use your credit card and have to wait while the carhop goes back inside to run the card. read more

(Deserve a -2 rating) Please help me understand the lack of quality in food, the dissipating taste that seems to have emerged in Sonic's declining customer satisfaction repertoire. The quality of food at store # 529 has been horrific for the past year or so. This is not my first encounter with total dissatisfaction with the quality at this particular location. I usually travel to Sonic's on Barrow St., to purchase the best Slushie in town and the service is excellent, which is lacking at the locations on N. Judge Ely Blvd and N. First, which I had reviewed before and did not hear from anyone regarding the situation that occurred. The Manager at the S. First location is highly unprofessional, and I try not to patronize either site unless I have no other choice. When my woman brings home food from Sonic's I always ask her which one because she knows that Barrow street location is the only acceptable location and has the best quality. Today, she was tired and wanted to surprise the family. However, she did not want to take an 18-minute drive to Barrow st. Therefore, she went to the one which lacks the most, N. Judge Ely Blvd. She purchased me a Slushie, and a foot-long hot dog with onions, and no cheese, so she thought. As if anyone could have predicted, they did not remove the cheese as requested, and the wiener appeared somewhat dry (old). The Slushie, the nasty tasting slushie that generally tastes like mop water from this location once again, did not past the taste test. The photos attached show you that the mixture is off, usually, a strawberry flavor slushie is darker red, and the taste is full and pleasing (at Barrow's location). There are times that my kids and I are craving for a few hot dogs and Slushies but chose to order a pizza instead of driving across town to Barrows for a Slushie. We now have fewer hot-dog night parties since the quality is lacking. I guess when I am not craving for a slushie, I and my family/friends can go to Wienerschnitzel since their quality is always at the top, only if they would invest in a slushie machine. I am not expecting a call from your establishment since I did not receive one when I reviewed the N. First location. However, that is understandable from a franchise that does not value customer inputs or takes the time to inform the customers of the corrective measures taken to improve their quality or at least get it back up to average, if that is what the company is striving to obtain. read more

Food was good. Patio was enjoyable. Our carhop was Selena, an all around beautiful, sweet person. There was an issue with the size of my tots was very quickly rectified by another awesome carhop, Ahkeem - really great guy. Order size not an issue as they basically ended up giving me my large, and letting me keep the small free of charge. In trying to provide a fair, accurate review, only negative I can think of is the messed up handle on the men's restroom door, but it worked - so letting that slide. Ordered a shake and the only good part was how quickly it came. My issues arose when I ordered the shake with no lid, no cherry and no whipped cream and got all three. Bill came to $3 and change and I paid with a $5 bill And told the kid to keep the change. He looked at the $5 and literally shook his head like he was discussed with my tip. We were staying the night at Abilene and my son wanted a hotdog for dinner so this was the nearest Sonic I found. We ordered our food and when we brought it back to the hotel I was pretty surprised. The footlong coney I ordered came in Two smaller buns because they didn't have the big buns. That didn't bother me. What bothered me was my sons hotdog. It was shriveled up and dry. My son was starving and he tried to eat it. He only ate two bites but that was enough to give him food poisoning. He's been in and out of the bathroom all night. I also have an upset stomach. I should've known better than to let him eat the hotdog so I guess part of the blame is on me. Avoid this place! read more

My favorite car hop is Jessie, but when he's not here I wanna die. Schedule him more pls.! One time I got a slushy and it tasted dusty, but usually we Gucci. But tonight we got two shakes and one somehow got in the bushes I'm not too sure how? But nonetheless it got there, it actually gave it the little kick it needed to get you to 4 stars. Absolutely the worst Sonic in Abilene. I love Sonic, but will not go to this one anymore. It is so conveniently located for me though that its hard to say no when the kids want to stop for drinks on a hot summer day. But every time we have stopped here for the past several times, it's SLOW - even when there are very few cars there. I always seem to pull up to a broken speaker. The food is bad too. When we order milk shakes, the flavoring is always clumped at the bottom of the cup. One time we sat there for 30 minutes waiting on a corn dog kids meal and a vanilla shake. Never again. read more

I would give them zero stars right now if I could! I just really don't understand how hard it is for a group of trained employees to get one single order correct! My husband ordered a burger and some tots and I ordered some chicken bites with ranch dipping sauce and tots with 2 RT 44 cokes. When the car hop got to the car, we had a burger, 3 tots, no chicken bites, and 2 cokes. It took them forever to bring the correct food out. By then we were frustrated and went home to eat. Unpacked the bag to find our food was still not correct. My husband's burger was wrong and they gave us 4 different types of sauces and none of them were ranch dipping sauce! I guess you can make excuses all day but how hard is it to put a bag together correctly. I've worked in fast food. This sonic is terrible. I worked here for only 2 days because no one seemed to care about getting the correct orders out in a timely manner. No one CARES! And i said "i cant work in this environment". Never went back. Any time we come here for drinks, they never get it right. Ever. And act dumb about it. I was a carhop at a different sonic for 2 1/2 years and I know how things work, and they act like what im asking for is not possible, well let me go inside and ill hold your hand and show you how its done!
