the reviews set high expectations that for me fall short of them. Our octopus appetizer was good and the dressing made it better. However the 3 pizzas we ordered were all too oily on the bottom - didn't hold the crust straight. The ambiance was fine and the service was attentive for a late lunch. read more

Food is really good but prices are extraordinarily high for the portions. Bottom of pizzas are soggy. Dessert is really good.

This was my second time eating here. I would say it was about the same as the first. Middle of the road. The service was excellent but the dishes were average. We had the fried pizza and the second was sausage and broccoli Rape. Neither were stand outs by any means. The Bronzino lacked flavor, the pasta with triple meat sauce was good and the gnocchi with truffles was probably the best. The deserts were also very average. There are many other places with great pizza's and pasta to choose from. Oh, and, the big turn off was the 90 minute time limit. read more

We had the calamari which was fresh, light and delicious. Ordered two pies - a prosciutto with black truffle and a vegetarian. Both were delicious. I don't consider this a family restaurant and there is nothing wrong with that. It's a small but lovely location with much more of a date night vibe than pizza Friday with the kids. The prices reflect that. If you know that going in, you won't be disappointed. read more

Don't have their act together yet. Pressure to order quickly (almost as soon as we arrived) because the kitchen was scheduled for a break. QR code on the table but the menu is very hard to read and understand on a phone. One hard copy finally brought to the table. Kitchen very inflexible. Menu only, and exactly as stated. No substitutions or modifications however small. The food was very good. Portions are too small, however, and prices too high.(4 pastas, 1 pizza and 2 appetizers: $150++ Will not return. read more

Granted, ingredients are top quality but the pizza came warm and it got cold quickly. What puzzled me,they balked at giving me change for a dollar to put money in the meter even after I told them we were eating there. They claim they don't keep coins in the cash register but they do accept cash.Go figure. Lots of places to get good Neapolitan pizza in North Jersey and more likely better service read more

Song E Napule - Gnocchi Sorrentina - Pizza Near Me - Rutherford, New Jersey

I love love love this place!! I have been here a few times and everytime I come I love it a little bit more. All of their pizzas are to die for! This time around my friends and I ordered calamari and Caesar salad as an appetizer which was really good. Then we split two pies (Margarita and Diavola). I think about this pizza frequently the dough is just that good. Then we ended our dinner with the coccole which was drizzled with Nutella on top. This was outrageous definitely recommend if you have room for dessert at the end. Great service with great ambiance. Totally will be coming back. read more

Had dinner with my wife there yesterday. The food was good. I was in the mood for a creamy pasta but I don't think they have this on the menu but it's ok. The pizza is delicious and a bit overpriced. Overall it's an expensive restaurant but that's ok since it's BYOB and you save a lot on alcohol. The calamari was good. It was very light. The servers and the staff were all great. I was happy that they didn't play the mask theater like they do in Montclair restaurants. Joy who was not our server but we did speak to her was absolutely amazing. She had so much positive energy that we needed to feel. Overall this place is great! We will go back for sure and we already recommended to our friends. One thing that I wish was different would be the decor. It's a bit cold and the walls need some pictures for sure. read more

The server Joy was excellent very nice and friendly. Very attentive. The food was awesome. The appetizer fried calamari and meat balls were delicious. The gnocchi and paccheri allá genovese were also delicious. Will recommend this place. read more

My first visit and I loved the food. Had Caprisi Salad; it was fabulous. Next course, Burrata Pizza and it was beyond fantastic. This is a different kind of pizza with a light airy crust and really fresh ingredients. The prices are great. Also, it's BYOB. There is a liquor store right across the street if you forget to bring a bottle. The decor is lovely. A bit small but I'm sure they will be expanding in no time. You must go. Let's keep this place open! read more

Pizza pizza pizza! Finish off with the Nutella pizza! The service is great, music can get a bit loud, and it's a bit pricy, but the food is 10/10 read more

Best Pizza around and wonderful service especially Joy! It's just like being in Italy! A great addition to Rutherford! I highly recommend it! read more

Disappointed to say the least. The pizza was soggy and undercooked underneath, but the outer perimeter crust was done right. There was way too much cheese on the pizza that contributed to the soggy mess underneath. It just was not our table, but the surrounding tables also had soggy pizza. They either need a new pizza chef or a new pizza oven. The decor was beautiful though, especially the tiles on the pizza oven. Also, the tiramisu was excellent. read more

The food is cooked to perfection , the fried calamari was incredible , not greasy at all , burrata and prosciutto di Parma cut fresh to order was succulent. The wait staff , incredible people , best service ever. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Will definitely be back. Very well run restaurant. read more

The pizza is good but nothing special. The service was good. The biggest problem is that the tables are on top of each other. So you're basically sitting at a table with strangers. It's awkward and uncomfortable. I wouldn't go back read more

Had a pizza and it was great. Me and the spouse enjoyed our time together here. We didn't feel rushed so it was a nice experience

Everything was AMAZING! I came here with my mom and my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time! We ordered the Burrata & octopus salad to start and had pizza for our entrees and everything was out of this world!!! Our waitress was very patient with our questions (we had several LOL) and the vibe of the restaurant is so cute! Felt very welcomed and well taken care of our entire time at this place. Overall food was amazing and service was as well! Will most def be back again! read more

Worst service . Food was not with the price . Small and get hot in summer . They are quick to clear your plates but not quick to service . Second hand service was horrible I needed to keep asking for water refill and simple cup of coffee . Go to Suprema instead read more

The food was very good, and all the service was great and quick. There is inside and outside seating in a good area.

Excellent service and delicious food. Seating is comfortable and the whole atmosphere is great! Will be back again soon!

Highly recommend-great pasta dishes, the best pizza around. Authentic Italian food and owner, who was beyond gracious and very friendly with all customers. The wait staff was also super friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back! read more

Overrated pizza, extremely rude staff members/poor service. Don't waste your money there's much better pizzerias in the area

Service and food was great tonight. We had burrata, calamari, 2 pasta dishes, pizza and dessert, all great. We will be sure to come back.

Nathalye was AMAZING, very attentive server the food was Very phenomenal!! Ambiance felt like I was in Italy

True authentic pizza not only made with love but made from the heart like a true Italian.. best pizza I've ever had and Manuel and the staff are amazing friendly and make you feel like family. read more

First let me start out by saying they do not answer their phone for reservations. I stopped in the day before we wanted to go since nobody answered the phone all afternoon. When we stopped in I told them that nobody answers their phone and the hostess proceeded to tell me that their phone rings off the hook and it goes to voicemail...wrong! The phone did not ring once when we were there and they told me they only take reservations the day of dining so it was a wasted trip. We go back the next day...but before we go I called them several times with no answer - right to voicemail. I told them the same thing that nobody answers the phone and she told me the same lame excuse (phone did not ring once when we were there). I should have known then that it would not be a good experience. When we sit down for dinner that evening the waiter starts out by telling us what he doesn't have - basically everything that we wanted to eat (almost all the fish entrees on the menu). He gave us some dumb excuse. We should have walked down the block at that point to another restaurant. Sooooo with that being said they totally screwed up 3 out of 4 meals. We ate them anyway but they were not good. From then on we got an attitude from our waiter in addition to the manager. We ordered two espressos after that and they were cold. How does that happen? While drinking our cold espressos the manager asked us to leave because they needed the table. Needless to say we will not be returning. Side note - I think they wanted to push their pizza which was mostly dough and less than appetizing to me. Pasta dishes were sparse and not appealing as well. read more

This place is authentic Italian. All the kitchen staff is from Naples and the pizza, which is really great, is Neapolitan style. The entrees were really good, the branzino was great, squid ink pasta was also great. The staff was very friendly and the service was good and surprisingly fast. They play Italian music and it seems like you are in Italy. Rutherford is a dry town so it's byob. Highly recommend this place. Very enjoyable! read more

We went to Song e Napule for my daughter's 21st Birthday. We ordered 3 is the octopus dishes. Mine had a good amount of octopus, the other two only had about 3 in each plate. The dish was mostly made of cherry tomatoes. The flavor was delicious, but the portion was very little. My son and husband had the bolognese dish made lamb, they enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was great and the servers will very warm and friendly. I would return, but would not get the octopus dish again. read more

So my niece booked res. 2 days before res found out they had been exposed to COVID so called to cancel. Open table said call restaurant directly. Was told cancellat fee was $20. Per person. I don't understand why people crazy about this restaurant. Pasta and pizza were below average and so noisy inside. One star is for kind staff and comfortable chair. Don't get distracted by stupid sweet reviews. read more

Original Review: The service staff at the restaurant was extremely rude and ill-mannered. The wait staff was consistently reaching over our plates during the meal before asking if we were done, and interrupting conversations with our guests. At one point one the attendant brought us additional bread and literally flicked it onto the table. I was appalled. At the end of the evening when the bill came there were numerous additional erroneous charges and the waitress had the nerve to bring the hand held credit card machine over to the table, and blatantly hover over my shoulder trying to see what tip I was going to leave them. The service staff truly ruined the dining experience with their unprofessional behavior. The restaurant has limited indoor seating available so they seem to go to the extreme to rush customers out the door. The food wasn't bad, but there are a few Italian restaurants within the neighboring towns that serve wood fired pizza and an excellent choice of entrees, where the service staff are professional and courteous. Save your self the aggravation and stay away from this restaurant. Response to Owner's Comments: I certainly appreciate you taking the time to respond to my review. I would like to clarify the fact that we did not have a bottle and therefore did not require a "corking" fee. We actually drank sparkling water during our meal. The erroneous charges were actually errors on the food charges on our bill. With respect to the "attentiveness" of the staff, I will reiterate the comments made during my original review. The issue was not attentiveness, but rather poorly trained staff reaching across the table BEFORE asking whether we were finished with our courses. As an owner I would ask that you take the criticism in a constructive manner and provide proper training for wait staff on how to conduct themselves as professional wait staff. I look forward to seeing the resolution of the service issue at your restaurant. Best of luck in your future endeavors on this restaurant read more

So disappointed! The hype is not worth the cost or my time. I realize we are getting back to normal dining space, but I still do not want to have dinner with the people next to me or share a wine bucket. I was excited to go because I have celiac and online they show gluten-free options for every pasta dish. Well...they DO NOT offer any gluten-free pasta options for any pasta dish and the waitress really didn't even understand what celiac, gluten-free was.. she suggested I get the fish and skip the roasted potatoes.. potatoes are naturally gluten-free! Such a shame! Wasted my Saturday and didn't enjoy anything!! read more

I ordered online for pick up and it was ready on time but the maitre d was "Mr Pablo Personality", told him I was picking up my order, he went to check and instead of handing me the order, he pointed for me to get it. He does not smile, looks annoyed. If he does not like his job he needs to quit. Your maitre d, staff makes a big part of your business that's why people come not only because of your food. The food was good that's why we keep coming but the maitre d's attitude makes me want to reconsider how to recommend your establishment to my family and friends. read more
