110 Grill - Thai Sesame Salmon

I dined with friends who live in the area who come to this restaurant often. Of all the 110 Grill's…read moreat which I've dined so far (and I'll undoubtedly visit more in the future), this is probably my favorite at the moment. The quality of service, food, drinks, atmosphere were all very good. Turnover here is also very good, as there was no wait for an almost-full restaurant at 7pm on a Friday evening. Drinks were flavorful, but strength seemed a bit inconsistent. My Patriot's Pour, a bourbon drink, seemed a wee bit stronger both in flavor and perceived alcohol than the martinis we were served. The ice cube with the restaurant's name in it was a nice touch. Our dinners all came out at the same time and were, as mentioned, enjoyable. I did notice that the counter in front of the kitchen, where dishes are placed waiting for pickup, seemed to have more plates on it than the could be under the heat lamps. Hopefully folks' dinners weren't inconsistent in temperature. My Thai salmon was done the way I like it, firm and crispy. Parking outside is ample as well, there were several spaces free near the entrance at any time. They do a good job all-around here.

The salad arrived split on two separate plates which was a nice touch, and the sweet mustardy dressing balanced the bitterness of the kale and brussels - only comment is it was bit overdressed. The mushroom ravioli was tasty and had a good filling to wrapper ratio with a solid amount of cream sauce. The pulled pork mac was on the sweeter side and also had a lot of sauces - the bechamel, sweet bbq sauce and ranch. It was a touch too many sauces for us. Portions were a good size, a bit larger than expected. Service was attentive and fast, and the space is clean and comfortable, but could use a bit of an update, the upholstery on our booth was noticeably worn down. Overall a good meal, just note dishes tend to be heavier on sauces / dressings - we'll request to go lite on sauces next time.

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!

Including a beautiful "little free library". There is a gift shop with locally made goods and their own spice and dip mixes. So if you love the meal you can buy the flavors. They also have a greenhouse in the summer. They have one menu per month, it includes a dip, a soup, a salad, a bread, an entree a dessert and two beverages. The peach raspberry tea is wonderful, the lavendar lemonade is a treat and the mocha coffee is delicious - though it is decaffeinated. (You can get regular caffeinated coffee to stave off your food coma on the drive home too) January 2025's menu was delicious. I had the beef wellington and it was so tender. The flavors on all the dishes were wonderful. The restaurant does 3 to 4 seatings per day where everyone eats at once so the meal is like a very charming assembly line - all you have to worry about is enjoying. Excited to go back and excited for the upcoming menus. I hadn't eaten here in many years. I feel like I've been missing out.

I had to get more garlic awesomeness spice as I was running low since my last visit. Also got a few soups and other dips for use at home. We were seated in the greenhouse as requested during my reservation. I mentioned to the person that I was happy the greenhouse was still available since it was my birthday. I wasn't thinking that was noted or that I would get a candle with my dessert. Service was flawless by a great team of ladies that took care of us. My friend and I loved every course we were served. I also liked that they replaced the mango lemonade with a blueberry lemonade. Good change. Everything was absolutely delicious!! After we explored the grounds again and found the new location for grandma's bed and the big bad wolf. Nice to see them again and it adds to the appeal of the experience. I noticed the tree was getting some renovations and stopped to talk to the gentleman working. Turns out that I was fortunate to be talking to the artist that works on the tree. He mentioned that it took him about 6 months to finish the tree. Also found out where some of his other pieces are located. I noticed that the butterfly on top of the tree was replaced by a cardinal. I forgot to ask if this was a permanent change. Until next time Pickity Place!

A lot of places double up on the tortillas for this reason, but no need here. We ordered the birria, carnitas, and cabeza tacos, chicken sopes, beans, rice, sweet plantains, sweet rice pudding and horchata. Standouts were the carnitas and cabeza for me - very delicious in their simplicity, the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Birria was also very good but overhyped IMO (novelty factor). The chicken sopes were way bigger than expected, could easily be a meal on its own and the masa tart was pretty good. Our table liked the green sauce to add zip to the food. It was very sunny when we went, so it was blinding and hot to be sitting inside, hope they install a shade at some point. They seem to only serve in takeout containers, so eating at a table requires getting a bit creative for a "plate" etc. There's a small lot behind the building and street parking is pretty easy. I will definitely be returning to try the lengua and more things next time!

We got the carne asade and chicken taco especial, the hibiscus tea, and churros! The tacos were delish! I usually opt for flour tortillas, however they make their corn tortillas and they are the soft ones, so I wanted to try it as it comes - I was not disappointed! The tacos come in 4 to a meal, so we so split two and two. Naturally, I prefer steak but both the chicken and steak were phenomenal. Lots of flavor!! The taco especial, has onions and cilantro and a nice lime squeeze on the side that is a nice flavor burst and addition. If you want the lettuce, cheese, tomato, etc. then you want the americano version. The tacos come with two sauces, both of which were spicy but you can tell were made/fresh! But that hibiscus tea - wow!! So delish! It was sweet and flavorful and a sip of freshness!! The churros were also incredible. Not that I didn't think I'd like the dulce de leche filling but it was um-yes yum! The outside was nice and crispy obv coated in cinnamon and sugar and then the inside was soft and doughy but not raw dough, just perfection. The dipping sauce was excellent too - they could provide a little bit more of it but we made it work. Anyways, highly recommend. It's fresh and authentic- clearly homemade with good ingredients!! Can't wait to try more from the menu!
