This is NOT the place to get a decorated cake. I had to get a birthday cake for a child with celiac disease. It's hard to find gluten-free bakeries. I was a bit dismayed when I went to pick up the cake. Especially since I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them needing additional time to decorate the cake. It was also expensive ($100). I ended up redecorating the cake myself. So instead of saving myself time and effort during a stressful time, it was expensive and became an unwanted project. I'm attaching before and after pictures. The cake flavor was decent (a little dry), and people ate it but it wasn't good enough to save for leftovers. I wanted to write this in case any other family is looking for a decorated cake for a birthday party. You might want to order one of their regular cakes and not ask for it to be decorated. They seem like lovely people. I feel bad leaving this review, but I wish I had known this upfront because I would've ordered from somewhere else. read more

I just tried their dairy free lemon drop cookies which I found in the freezer section of a specialty store. The cookies were terribly dry. There was no "use by" date on the packaging so I don't know if they are always this way or were "out of date." "Use by" date should be added to packaging for these products. read more

I ordered online when I saw they were giving away free dinner rolls with any purchase. I got an order of baguettes, croissants, and a pumpkin whoopie pie. When I went to go pick up my order, the person behind the counter took forever to find and then when he couldn't repacked it. He didn't add the dinner rolls until after I asked and only gave me one of the three baguettes from the order. However when I emailed them, they resolved that issue and sent me two for free. The pastries are okay, I've had better whoopie pies and the croissants were really thick. The baguettes have good flavor but their integrity isn't great. I would consider ordering here for another bread item or less complicated pastry, but it won't be my first choice. read more

Ordered the gluten free rolls online. I am out of state and love these rolls when I visit legal sea foods in MA. I ordered them by 2PM and got them the next day, luckily. I have already eaten 12 rolls in four days, they are perfection. I'm SO greatful SSWE offers to mail their gluten free items, such a gift! read more

I recently tried placing an order through the site, and was really excited to try stuff out, after seeing what was offered. Imagine my disappointment, when I find that everything I ordered was just tossed in a box with two small pieces of bubble wrap, and then sent off across the country to tumble along the entire way. Everything was smashed and squished. I didn't even get an initial response until I had said I was going to do a charge-back through the bank. To top it off, it took almost a month to finally get refunded, and not even for the full amount of the order. She shorted me for just under 5 dollars. What a crooked business. Dry, dry and dry. Was also dense and tastless. The company Schar, which you get at a grocery store in the bread section(not frozen section) is way better. Its soft, light and really tasty I don't know who does the taste testing but they need someone new. Abdolutely awful!! read more

So confused by this place. Went there last week at 11am on a Saturday. Thought I was going to a bakery per the yelp adds but nope. Disappointed to discover although yelp said it was open, it was not only closed but looked like a distribution warehouse. Door was locked and there was a large box for order pickups (or deliveries). I rang the door bell then called the phone number - no luck. So much for my cousin getting a birthday cake as I promised. Maybe they moved. I went into the Woburn location yesterday to pick up a friends order. I was planning to purchase some items myself but immediately changed my mind. Unfortunately, the guy helping me hasn't learned how to properly wear a mask yet. At this point if your nose is fully exposed, you just look stupid. While masks should always be properly worn .... if you are someone working in the food service industry .... you should be vigilant in properly wearing your mask. You have lost me as a customer, as well as the friend I was picking up for. Hopefully your staff can be respectful enough to be safe or smart enough to at least give the impression your taking Covid seriously in front of customers. read more

We ordered for the first time a few weeks ago- we had our order shipped as we do not live nearby. It seems to take 5 days to get to us- we are at the other end of MA (2.5 hours away). Ordered Tuesday/arrived Saturday. Ordered Monday/arrived Friday. The 1 day shipping was just too high for us. We loved the oatmeal bread and the cider donuts. We enjoyed the apple and blueberry muffins. The dinner rolls were a little bland/dry. The chocolate croissant was a little hard/dry. Not sure if it is because we are eating them 5 days old. In store/fresh must be wonderful! Customer service was great. We had an issue with our first order and it was corrected immediately. read more

I placed an order to be picked up the day after Thanksgiving. I checked to make sure they would be open ... got there and 1 1/2 hours after waiting for the store to open and calls, I reached the general manager who said they were open and called to see what was going on. The general manager called me back and said informed me the manager had decided to take the day off without letting anyone know. Luckily the bakers were there and got my order. I got home to find my order was wrong and when I informed the general manager, I got offered nothing for th wrong order, my inconvenience or anything. The cost of that order is down the drain and my family gets no dessert. I really hope the Woburn manager enjoyed their day off without consideration for the customer!! read more

I went to the Woburn location and was massively disappointed. Everything they had was frozen . I usually go to the one in Arlington and the selection there is great cake pops were my fav so I had high expectations. And no one ever came to the front. I heard that the two locations are merging so I hope the quality doesn't go down and the variety shrinks. Also my favorite sub shop that was near the Arlington location gets their bread from there I hope this doesn't change things that would stink. It's 3 A.M. but the gluten & dairy free chocolate chip cookie was so good I had to write a review........ OMG. This cookie is moist, solid, crumbles apart perfectly, and just tastes like heaven. It tastes so good I feel sorry for the allergy-free suckers who believe Famous Amos cookies are the best on the planet. They aren't dry and they don't fall apart like most gluten free baked goods. Everything about this cookie was A M A Z I N G. Oh yea the best part is they are 80 CALORIES, 11 CARBS. I thought I could give up sugar completely, but these cookies have me re-thinking my diet strategies. read more

So my mom is gluten free and soy free, so it is so hard for her to find food that she can eat! Before developing these allergies (About 5 years ago) she used to eat so much, bake so much, cook so much- and now she doesn't because she can't even enjoy it. Last year for christmas I got her a gluten free bread cook book, which she liked, but had to buy all 20 ingredients that were expensive to make anything! Now she just does the pizza dough. Her biggest complaint about gluten free stuff is that it just never tastes the same. Having been in the area last weekend, I have never seen a gluten free bakery, or at least a bakery completely devoted to this- so i had to check it out! I left with SO much to bring home for my mom. I tried to get a general mix of everything- i got a banana bread, whoopie pies, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, lemon cookies, and a few other decorated cookies. Needless to say, my mom was so impressed and so happy! As a gluten-free food connosieur, she said everything had LOTS of flavor and tasted as similar to real food as it could! She finished the cookies immediately. My dad and I, who try not to eat gluten-free, tried the banana bread- and I liked it better than normal breads! so fresh! Overall, my mom (and myself) were really impressed. I think it is such a good idea to offer a completely homemade, gluten-free bakery, because the sensitivity/allergy is so much more prevelant! The manager was very professional and informative, and seems to really understand the customers and buisness! I really hope to see this place stay around- and maybe even expand so that my mom can get stuff without traveling far! read more

I have been gluten free for 2 1/2 years, and I have a serious sweet tooth, so I am always on the look-out for great bakeries. This one definitely impressed me. I first found out about this bakery, because we carry some of their items at the school that I work at, so, I decided to visit the store front itself so that I could sample more goodies. I was not disappointed! Christine, who is one of the owners, was so nice and welcoming! Everything that I tried was wonderful, but my favorites are their whoopie pies, cranberry bread (great for sandwiches) and pumpkin bread. I will definitely be heading back there soon! read more

Cakes, brownies, cookies, breads, pastries, pies, pizza, pita chips, and more. They are always putting out new and seasonal products too! They are certified gluten free. No nuts are used either, and most products are without dairy. I eat gluten free (for the most part, except when I have an opportunity to write a review for yelp ;) ) Sandy and Christine are the owners who are super helpful and accommodating. The cake part of the cake is good. But the frosting is unfortunately not natural or made with butter but seem to be the same kind of waxy frosting that you get in the grocery store. It is some kind of vegetable shortening and is pretty much inedible. (Whole foods uses real butter in their buttercream.) The decorations is nice. The price is very high though. I stopped by here the day before my wedding to see if I could find some gluten-free cupcakes for one of my bridesmaids so that she wouldn't have to miss out during cake time at the reception. The woman who helped me - I think she was one of the owners - was super nice and very helpful, and the price of the cupcakes was surprisingly low compared to other gluten-free places I had researched online. The best part of the whole experience was seeing my friend's eyes light up as she took her first bite of cupcake - she said it was delicious, and saved the stickers from the package so that she could go back and get more of their treats. My friend and I met Christine at the Whole Foods in Lynnfield this afternoon and tried the Cinnamon bread, Harvest bread, and Jalapeño bread. I've been gluten free (allergy) for over three years now, and I can't believe I haven't tried these breads sooner! My friend couldn't believe they were gluten free either. They cost more than the usual Udi's or Rudi's, but the loaves are way bigger and not "holey" like the others. You actual get your money's worth. Christine and her associate were beyond friendly and even gave us ideas for the bread (cinnamon as French toast and the jalapeño toasted and cubed as a topping for chili). This bakery, in an industrial section of Woburn, makes the best gluten free desserts. Some are also dairy free, but I don't think any are fully vegan (I could be wrong about that; check with them). I love SSWW! My first visit to this bakery was actually for the purpose of trying the gluten-free cupcakes. I swear that one of these days I will actually get around to trying them. The trouble is that every time I go in, there is some other delicious treat speaking to me either from the display case, or from the racks of fresh-from-the-oven goodies. On the first visit, it was the huge chocolate chip muffin (still warm!), which I must say is absolutely, hands down the BEST choco chip muffin I have ever eaten, whether gluten free or not. Since then it has been the cookies, the cinnamon rolls, the tea breads, the brownies, the apple cider donuts!, more muffins, the.....you get the idea. The muffins and cinnamon rolls are my favorites - moist, full of great flavor, great texture. The cookies do tend to dry out if you don't eat them up within a day or two (not usually a problem for me). Probably the only treat I didn't really like was the brownie. The texture was great, it wasn't dry, but the flavor was...different. Maybe I was expecting a stronger sense of chocolate, but it was very mild and not exactly chocolatey. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't impressive. The only thing I have tried so far that didn't cater to my sweet tooth was the croutons. They had a good flavor, but they weren't really crunchy so much as they were hard, and it just wasn't pleasant enough to deal with in my salad. I'm looking forward to trying the pizza crust and breads (and cupcakes!) in the near future. I read more

I needed a GF carrot cake on short notice and the Arlington bakery was sold out but Woburn had plenty of treats to chose from including a carrot cake and carrot cupcakes!!
