Cute little shop with very nice pieces of jewelry. They make everything by hand, sculpting, engraving, carving different metals (golds, silvers, etc.) into intricate designs and cut stones to match. It's a family-run business, so you can expect great service and honest dealings. Ask for Josh if he's there, because he's awesome. Many of their pieces feature opals, which is my mom's birthstone, so I'm planning on maybe picking out something she'll like when I go back. They also offer smaller services, as I'm replacing a clasp on one of my necklaces and possibly resizing a ring. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood. I am so happy that Something Fine was recommended on Nextdoor as a local jeweler that does amazing work. Very small hole in the wall jewelry shop. I had been to Main st. Many times, but never noticed this shop. I needed a ring resized and this shop was recommended to me by a friend. I went into the shop and the people working here were very helpful. I wasn't sure what ring size I needed and they had me try on their ring sizes to find the right fit. I did not want a pre manufactured ring from a corporate store. I wanted a custom made ring and came to a little mom and pop store here in Seal Beach. Had it made and it was a little big. We asked if we could design it smaller and they did it with no hassles. This was the best decision ever. The owner was very professional and since it was a wedding ring she knew the importance and never once tried to upsale us or pressure us into anything. My husband and I went to Something Fine with questions about reworking my wedding ring. Stacy looked at my ring with a loop and actually gave us some good advice. The problem comes down to what I discovered when we got home and looked at the ring myself with a loop... 1) One lower facet of the diamond was covered in a dark substance. Yuck! My first thought was...wow, I can't believe she didn't offer to clean it for me. At the very least tell me about it. 2) I couldn't believe my eyes when I see that 2 of the 6 prongs had worn down completely beneath the edge of my center stone (COMPLETELY GONE). At this point I'm really upset. How could a professional jeweler look at my diamond under a scope and not see this? I went to another local jeweler who looked at the ring and immediately told me NOT TO WEAR THE RING ANOTHER MINUTE! I was extremely lucky I hadn't already lost the diamond. So, it certainly wasn't her fault that my ring was in such bad shape. But I absolutely cannot understand how she could miss the fact that the integrity of my ring was completely compromised and I was at risk of losing my center diamond at any moment. Disagree with previous reviewer; don't even think about window shopping or stopping in to just look because it just isn't possible. Stacy and John's creations are just down right luscious and you will never see anything like their one-of-a-kind creations.
