Not a fan. I received a necklace from here as a gift and wanted to like it so badly because the design itself is cute and the gesture from my friend was touching. Despite the piece being gold plated, the coloring looks so fake and feels like I'm wearing a piece of children's jewelry. I can't layer it with any other gold plated jewelry from other jewelry stores because the coloring from gorjana is far too yellow. Definitely think twice about purchasing any gold plated pieces from here and make sure it fits the color palette you are personally going for. Apparently the unusual coloring is intentional--customer support has told me that the jewelry is designed with a "bright yellow gold tone. This is part of the gorjana aesthetic and gives the piece a vibrant, eye-catching finish. I went here recently to pick up some pieces I'd ordered online. The two stars is for the jewelry. The pieces look exactly the same in person, and I'm excited to pair them with future outfits. The three removed stars are for the service. It was not a positive experience. The customer service rep that was on the floor when I entered clearly saw me, but pretended not to. There were only three people present at the time: myself, the rep, and another client she was speaking to. I wasn't arrogant enough to expect the rep to immediately exit the convo and pivot to me, but she went too far in the opposite direction. Even a polite nod or quick smile to acknowledge my presence and let me know I'd be helped would have been fine. After waiting for what felt like an hour, another rep came to the front. I shifted my gaze to her and she asked if I'd been helped. I told her no and that I had a pickup order--which she promptly grabbed, then thanked me for my time and that was that. Those who know me know if someone is being rude to me, my skin tone is dead last on the list of what I assume is the reason. However, as a WOC who has lived in predominantly white areas for a bit over half of my life, I'm now usually able to recognize when someone is treating me differently based on color versus something else. They're lucky I'd already paid for my order ahead of time, because I assure you if I'd received the "service" I did while attempting to purchase in-person, I would have intentionally left empty-handed. read more

I was hoping they could repair it in house and the associate said they could send me a new piece as a part of their customer satisfaction promise. The associate working that day was very attentive to my needs and still managing the other customers in store. The process took about 10 minutes and I browsed around in the meantime. The jewelry for the most part is great... Customer service at the 2nd and PCH store, not so much. We have purchased here several times and we have never received great customer service. For one, they need to learn how to tie the ribbon on their bags. Every time we have left the store, the bag falls apart. I purchased a chain from there, got home only to find it completely tangled. I went back and they acted so irritated. The reason for this review is from our trip yesterday. My daughter purchased a pair of silver hoops less than a month ago. They turned a goldish color. We went to return them for a replacement pair. First of all, they looked at her and questioned that she bought "silver" earrings. They then proceeded to look and make sure that they were their product. I asked if they needed the receipt to "prove proof of purchase" and they acted taken aback by being called out. The girl then handed us the plastic zip lock type of bag with the replacement and never gave my daughter the original pouch she brought in. This store is absolutely terrible and we won't be returning again after so many instances of terrible customer service. read more

I stumbled upon gorjana while Christmas shopping at the fairly new 2nd & PCH mall. It was exactly the store I was looking for to get a gift for family and myself! Hehe They have quite simple designs, mostly in gold, but they specialize in customizing and using crystals or stones with healing properties. With their simple designs, they mix and match different necklaces to give a nice, layered look as well. In fact, they were selling a couple necklaces together for a discounted price and they could each easily be worn by itself, so I went with 2 different pairs that came out to about $50 each. (Reasonably priced for a boutique from Laguna Beach!) The staff helped me access and try on a few necklaces as well and were friendly in the process. Best Gojana experience yet! Jenna is a huge asset and I am so grateful for her assistance during my resent visit. For background reference, I have been buying Gorjana pieces for years, I've lost track of how long but way back when they only had one location. I have been to at least 4 of their locations throughout Southern California. My trip to the Long Beach location was one of the best experiences I've had to date. The reason I am so loyal to this brand is the way they stand behind its quality. I like having a mix of costume jewelry and fine jewelry and I can find that with Gorjana. The pros to costume jewelry is that it allows me to play with trends (with less regret) and when I travel I don't worry about losing jewelry as much. The cons are that gold-plated jewelry tarnishes. I had just about sworn to never buy any more until I found Gorjana. When the jewelry tarnishes they will either replace it, replace it with something of equal value, or have it redipped and mended. That guarantee is almost unheard of and why I stay a loyal customer. Last Sunday I went into the Long Beach location they patiently helped me replace several of the pieces I had collected over the years that had gotten tarnished (even on the weekend before Valentine's day, which is very busy time for them). Jenna was so kind, patient, and helpful words can't express how grateful I was. I needed to catch a flight to LAX that afternoon and was trying to squeeze one last errand in. Given the other reviews here, I was a little nervous but I needed to risk it since Long Beach was the closest location to me at the time. I am so glad I didn't listen to the other reviews and went in! Jenna (and some of the other gals) were so lovely and took such good care of me that they literally renewed my faith in the brand and have helped make me a loyal customer for years to come. I have noticed over the years as they have expanded they have had to hire more staff and they are often young women, some of who still look like they are in high school. And yes some of their customer services skills could be a lot better but I've never felt anyone was outright mean. Maybe lacking some life skills but never rude. I'm going to give them a break as I would have hoped someone would have given me when I was a young woman. My experience at this location was so positive that I had to write a review, especially after seeing so many negative reviews. I will continue to support this brand because I would say it's apart of my Daily essential wardrobe. The jewelry's are very high quality and makes great for that statement look. Jenna is the manager at this location, she goes above and beyond when I have issue with some of the pieces. The team that works here knows how to resolve any issues when Jenna is not around. I never feel like I'm ever being persuade to make a purchase. I think I come for the experience in fine customer Service. UPDATE - I am writing this update based on a fluke encounter I had with OLIVIA. Yesterday, I was on my way out and the clasp on my Gorjana necklace wasn't working. I quickly decided to pop it in my bag and after my appointment in the South Bay see if there was a location nearby to exchange the necklace. Turns out there was a location right next door to where my appointment was, and what I did not know is that it was opening weekend. I walked in, everyone said hello, then after a few minutes Olivia approached me and asked if I needed help. I explained the issue with the necklace, she examined it, agreed the clasp was malfunctioning and asked if I wanted an exchange or return. I asked for an exchange; she pulled a necklace off the display, checked the clasp, and with no fuss took the old necklace back and handed me the new one. I was so pleased with the service, I excitedly thanked her and started to tell her about my experience at the Long Beach store, well before I could finish, she recognized me and admitted to being the one that helped me with my return that day. At first, I was taken back, then Olivia proceeded to express her heartfelt apologies about what had happened, and that I walked away having to carry that experience with me. She explained her side of the story - which I accepted - and her sincerity really touched me. It is so rare that we get to have these follow up discussions, and that the stars align for her and me to be at the MB store that day is quite fascinating. I am so glad we were able to chat, and I think we both walked away feeling better. I am not revising my rating because there were still 3 other associates involved, and I know nothing of how they felt about that day. But I feel it necessary that Olivia get the credit she deserves, because she could have easily not identified herself and avoided that conversation all together. Kudos to you Olivia!! read more

Went in and spent 250 on 5 pieces. Girl who "helped" me was totally bothered when asked her for additional bags for the 3 items I bought that were gifts. Customer service thrown out the door and she just tossed my items in a bag and took my money. I get you are over the holidays but you still have to service customers appropriately. These ladies proceeded to stare at my husband and I as we were walking into the store. They greeted us then proceeded to follow us around and stare us down as the only people of color in this store.
