So, I plop it on the couch and turn on CCTV this afternoon, and bam! There's an informative documentary on Mayan society. CCTV has at least 3 channels on basic cable, including Channel 9... the Be Live channel. When not broadcasting a show, it streams a live video feed of the intersection of Main & Mass Ave. Basically, Be Live is a show that allows any resident of the City of Cambridge to have on-air time; the shows are as crazy as the Central Squareans themselves. To get your own show, you just have to attend an orientation and pay a yearly membership fee of $55. That's pretty awesome. CCTV is absolutely as good as it gets, and it's by far the best public access channel I've ever experienced.

Just had what could have been a difficult customer service situation with NESN that turned out…read moregreat, and wanted to thank the NESN team for doing such a good job. I purchased a year of NESN, then discovered that there is no NESN app for Samsung TVs. I asked for a refund and they said "yes" with no friction. Too many interactions with businesses include them trying to convince me that there's a work around or that I could make do with something less. NESN just said "ok" and for that I'm grateful. I still need to figure out how to get NESN when the Sox start up in the Spring. I stream Hulu Live TV which does not include NESN and may switch to Fubo, which does. Cheaper than buying a new TV :-)

If you've been listening for a long time, you're really stupid by now. This station (and all commercial media) is a waste of bandwidth that could be used for public benefit. It is a propaganda tool serving wealthy corporate interests, heavily invested in keeping the public ignorant. I'd love to see all commercial stations lose their license and have it revert to being owned by the public, with the bandwidth made available to community groups for useful purposes.
