Just ordered the fish Tacos which were over fried and not appetizing looking at all. They refused to take it back for something else.

Burnt mozzarella sticks and we specifically asked for the bananas *in* the pancakes. Waitress seems annoyed since we walked in. They took The pancakes off of the check but charged us for the burnt mozz sticks that we only ate 2 of. Manager was not very sympathetic to our concerns. Def not coming back. read more

Came to visit Ocean City again. The chicken quesadilla was excellent. The French toast was excellent. The hamburger was not freshly made. It was probably a frozen patty. It was OK but not great. Service is fast and friendly waitresses. Will dine here again.Recommended, but not the hamburger. read more

On my last visit to Atlantic City, I stopped into the Somers Point Diner, which is about 25 minutes south of AC. As a history buff and fascinated with the rich music history of Somers Point (Tony Marts,etc) stopped into the diner for a quick meal. Horrible experience when going in of smell of natural gas leak advised staff an was told nothing is wrong here was worse where they sat us and was told were were not telling the truth. My son is part of fire department and had to call police an have them dispatch fire department and they pulled out equipment for reading that detail this an high reading of gas in building. Gas company was out as well to resolve the issue. We got no type of apology for informing them. Its sad circumstance because we had a good experience before changing of hands read more

Ordered eggs homefries and ham. When I got my food the ham was a thick slice of deli meat. The kind of ham you use in your kids sandwich. I asked the waitress if she could switch it to bacon. She comes back and tells me I could not. I would have to pay for the bacon as well as the ham I returned. I couldn't believe it. They lost me as a customer over a .02 slice of ham. Yep five stars. Why? Because it's a DINER! It is NOT a Michelin Star establishment it's a Diner. Is it amazing? Not really but it's good. Greek Omlet was a solid 4.5 The eggs Benedict was good enough although the hollandaise was approaching lame so they have to fix that. Just get the knorr swiss and doctor that up a bit and call it good. Whatever mix you're using is not good enough. Service was just right for a diner, not too nice and not too crabby...pleasant. So, if you're not going to Johnnie's in Mays Landing which is everyone's #1 stop in here and eat at the diner. read more

BEWARE! It was our first time there. We ordered breakfast for dinner. Food was delicious and generous, server was sweet. We could not finish our meals. When we received our bill, it seemed that we were slightly overcharged. Nope! We were charged for take-out boxes! Nowhere on the menu or otherwise did it say this, and our server never told us--it was just added to our bill! We arrived at 5:50pm and by the time the waitress arrived and we ordered it was 6:04pm - she would not allow us to order off the early bird special which ended at 6pm - not a big deal but disappointing. My dinner companion order the burger off the dinner specials - it did not come with anything extra such as soup or salad or a dessert. I ordered the fried chicken basket - the chicken was actually tasty but the free salad that came with it was horrible. The lettuce was yellow and literally contained 1 tomato piece and two cucumber pieces - the rest was yellow lettuce. The bread basket had 2 small prices of stale bread and 2 extra small stale cornbread pieces .... the water glasses are on the smaller side and required multiple attempts to get the waitress ' attention for refills. We both received fries but my platter had twice as many - despite both items costing the same. The place looks recently renovated but the chairs are original and shaky .... no extra napkins were given or ketchup for the fries. read more

Our waitress, Marlene, was super friendly & even gave me aluminum foil to wrap my uneaten sausage for my dog. I had my "go to" - PANCAKES! Very fresh, fluffy, & tasty. Somers Point Diner has been around forever, and we always make a yearly stop for a reasonable and easy dinner. The menu is your basic diner fare - burgers, sandwiches, comfort food entrees and breakfast at any time of day. There is also an early bird dinner that includes dessert. The food is good and served by friendly staff. I wouldn't say it is stellar food, but still tasty and enjoyable. I typically get the Chicken Croquettes, but went for the Strip Steak today. The rest of my party enjoyed the meatloaf and felt it was good. If you are an early bird or have room after a regular entree be sure to get either the rice pudding or bread pudding. I love the old fashioned feel of the place. It's looking a bit worn, but that never stops me from enjoying the food or appreciating the history of this historic diner. A great place to take small children too. read more

We hadn't been to the Point Diner (also called the Somers Point Diner) for years and stopped in last evening. Greeted by smiles, we were seated and quickly approached by our server Francesco who was friendly and efficient. The Point has all the classic ambiance, and the menu includes a good selection of offerings: breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, dinners... and desserts. When I got to the Point Diner on a Sunday for lunch, it wasn't too crowded. That as surprising because usually, lunchtime on a Sunday morning is the most crowded time for diners. Atmosphere: The exterior of the Point Diner is a retro, shiny, and a stereotypical diner. The Point Diner looks like it's been around for quite some time. The interior of the Point Diner has plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar.  There appears to be a giant room in the back with the ability to host parties. Coffee: The Point Diner coffee was brewed hot and fresh and the waitress refilled it often. I couldn't have asked for better coffee. Food: The Point Diner menu has everything you expect in a diner menu and nothing more. There aren't many healthy options, but there are plenty of omelets, wraps, and dinner options. I was craving pork chops, so I decided to order those. The pork chops came with two sides and soup or salad. I chose a salad and beets as my side. The salad was bland and I was thankful I didn't order it as my entree. The beets were from a can but fine. When the pork chops came out, I was excited because it was a large portion. Sadly, they were dry and not as good as I hoped. Service: The waitress at the Point Diner was friendly, but the food took a while to come out. You would have thought the diner was jampacked full of people. Overall Thoughts/Would I come back? I didn't dislike the Point Diner, but there are a lot of other options that I like better. The food was decent, but it was nothing unique or unusual. Somers Point and Ocean City are both nice spots if you are looking for a pleasant shore getaway and a diner along the way. read more

In our second year of stopping at The Point dinner for breakfast on our way out of OC, we were sorely disappointed. Last year's visit went well, but this year was a comedy of errors. Shakespeare meets ineptitude. First, our party of 8 was told that it would be 25 minutes. Fair enough...I understand that 8 seats don't every 5 minutes. However, after waiting the allotted 25, we are told that it will be ready soon. Fine. 5 minutes later, however, we discover that our table had been given away to another party of 8. Apparently the hostess does not call out your name, such as "Jen, party of 8"...she just calls out "party of 8", and anyone else who has the same number gets your table. We, waiting in the vestibile, patiently, lost out due to her lack of clarity or knowledge of who was waiting nearby for 30 minutes. Upon having her error pointed out, she got snippy when we asked when we would be seated. Then, after another 15 minutes, she nearly gave our table away to another large group. Incredible. Then, when seated, our waitress informed us that they were out of hash browns, and I could have french fries with my omelette. What universe is this? Upon checkung, it was realized that hash browns could still be made from the same potatoes that create french fries, and all was rectified. The rest of the meal was fairly sane, with decent diner food and ok service. However, the 40 minute wait negated whatever positives were provided during the meal. Someone at the front counter needs to figure out how to seat their clients...else they take their business to Uncle Bill's! read more

Chipped beef tasted weird and got sick later. No proof but other food wasn't that good either.

The food was horrible and when I told the cashier she said "oh". I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and it was over cooked cheap meat. I asked for extra cheese and I did not get it. When I asked the server she said, I told them medium and extra cheese. They did nothing to fix the problem. read more

This is one of those places you hope stays around forever. They removed the jukeboxes from the tables a few years back, but the charm and essence of the old girl still remain. I grew up going to this diner as a child where my sister and I would crawl around the booths, occasionally munch on a delicious cinnamon bun, and always fight over the jukebox. The food is still as good as ever, and, if you have a moment, the Somers Mansion across the way has stood for 300 years, and has a great deal of history to offer. The appearance is your typical American diner. Our wait was minimal though it was a pretty busy time of morning. The wait for the waitress was lengthy but she apologized, explained she was new, and didn't know she was assigned to our table. She brought the drinks quickly, and even though we ordered food at the same time as the drinks it took a very long time to get to the table. I actually had to flag her down and ask for it because she was so focused on her other tables. It's a little pricey but it IS a shore restaurant and the portions were huge so I feel like we got a good deal. We would probably come back given how great the food was. read more

Ive been coming here since I was a kid. We would head down the shore to ocean city for the weekend and we ALWAYS stopped here to get breakfast. Its your average diner with your average menu items. I like it here still though because you dont typically have to wait long and theres a parking lot (when your from the city youre always thankful for a parking lot). The wait staff here is very tentative and the prices are good. Its definitely a great place to stop before you head to the beach. Theres also a liquor store and beer distributor on the same road so you could totally stop here for breakfast and then grab your beach adult beverages! read more

I came here the morning after a long night out. My aunt took me for breakfast and she swears by this place. Everyone that worked there was very nice and personable. The service was fast, like a diner is supposed to be. The food: i copied whatever my aunt got since my brain was not working yet. Egg white omelet with feta cheese & spinach - yum!! The omelet was cooked perfectly and extra cheesy how I like it. The potatoes I could have lived with out- not enough seasoning. Our service was quite speedy, especially for a Sunday morning. We were seated quickly and our waitress was attentive and efficient. Food was a bit slow but it was the "after church" hour so that was understandable. The family had breakfast and I had lunch; the best part of eating at a diner. It was all hot and delicious. I had the veggie pita which was delicious. They all had pancakes which were light and fluffy. The coffee was good and refilled in a timely manner. The decor is a great mix of old school with a just a touch of updating. It kind of reads Atlantic City casino in the '90's but it works. Most importantly it is scrupulously clean. Most of the window seats now have a view of the new bridge and a little glimpse of the bay. we sat in the back room though which had a T.V. for diversion. I haven't been here for about 10 yrs. I stopped with the family at the end of the summer when we were near by and just wanted a light inexpensive meal. The place was nice and quiet, clean, and friendly. The food is really good .I got a BBQ chicken sandwich with a piece of chicken that was bigger than the kaiser roll it was on. All the meals were very big. We've been here 4 times now and the bill averages about $10 per person. read more

Still great after all these years. The hostess offered to turn off the fan because my daughter said she was cold, and did. My son has selective eating disorder, which means he has an extremely limited diet and requires food to be "just so" other will actually not eat. The waitress was super accommodating and explained his order to the cooks "floppy bacon"isn't a usual order. Plus his requirements for individual plates. He also tried and loved the mozzarella sticks- so super win! My hubby ordered a pizza steak which also isn't on the menu and the waitress explained that to the cooks too. Our food service was prompt, environment was clean, servers were happy and kind.
