On November 16th we booked a couple's massage with Somar Wellness Spa. The full payment was required upfront to reserve our spot which we paid in full. On the day of our reservation, we received a reminder text that also mentioned to wear a mask. This was the first time a mask was mentioned, and masks are not mentioned on the website when we checked. We immediately responded back asking if a mask would be required during the massage because as you can imagine, wearing a mask during a massage isn't exactly comfortable or relaxing. Isn't that the whole point of a massage in the first place; to relax? We did not receive a response back, so we headed to our massage appointment as scheduled. Upon arriving, we asked again about their mask policy. The owner/massage therapist stated that we would discuss that once we were taken back in the room. Once in the room, we were informed that a mask would be required during the massage. We attempted to discuss our concerns with comfort and the ability to relax while wearing a mask, and also offered to provide our vaccination cards but the owner just over talked us and became argumentative. I tried to explain that we weren't anti-maskers or anything and understood wearing them when legally required. I also explained that I understand that it was her business and her right to require them if she wanted but we would rather not have a massage than to have to wear a mask during one. The owner/therapist stated that she does not offer refunds and we are simply out the money. I told the owner that there was a lack of transparency with her mask policy because her website does not mention it, and she didn't mention it to us until right before our appointment and she already had our payment. The owner/therapist stated that it is her business and she doesn't have to disclose anything, and she can run her business the way she wants. I can't stress enough that we understand people's opinions regarding masks. The issue is taking our money without discussing the mask requirement and then refusing to refund our money for services we did not receive. read more

Bebe was very accommodating as we called this morning for a couple massage and she called her on-call and got us in just a couple hours later. Both Bebe and her partner asked if we preferred relaxation or therapeutic and if we had any sensitive areas. We both were so relaxed and felt relieved from their amazing work. For Christmas presents for ourselves we had a 50 minute massage. My husband had Bebe and I had Dess. We both enjoyed it very much. What I like the most is how my massage was customized to target the areas where I needed it the most. Cupping and hot stones were also used which to me is a first. Bebe has magic hands! I was advised from friends that prenatal massages will be extremely helpful. So I did my research and bookmarked Somar. I'm so glad I did. During my third trimester, I started to feel those hip and back aches and pains. Seriously, as it was my first pregnancy, I wasn't sure what to expect but as baby was getting bigger, he was putting pressure on my hips and found myself hobbling around the office. I knew it was time to make regular appointments with Bebe. Bebe is responsive and accommodating when scheduling appointments. She has the pregnancy pillow that will allow you to rest comfortably on the table while on your belly. Bebe has strong hands and she knows exactly where to focus on to release the tension. Seriously she would come across a knot or source of tension from my hips and work on them and I would feel the release. She makes you feel at ease and shared her extensive knowledge. I also think that my regular appointments with her at the end of my pregnancy helped me prepare for labor so that my hips weren't so tight. Bebe at Somar is a true massage therapist. I had indicated that I wanted a therapeutic massage and she discussed my options and concerns to make sure that was indeed what I needed. I've been dealing with tailbone pain for over a year and have had limited relief after chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy. Bebe was sort of a "hail Mary" attempt to see if she could help and I cannot believe the difference in my pain. She was able to loosen muscles and ligaments with a variety of techniques and kept everything very professional (the location of my problem area could have made it an uncomfortable situation for me). I don't live in the area but was travelling through. I'm now trying to make sure I travel through again just so I can visit Bebe and her magical hands! Cannot recommend highly enough. read more

Ya'll this place........1. You have to make an appt/reservation. The appt is just a phone call and no one writes down your information while you think you are making a reservation. The reservation is paying for entire service on Venmo or PayPal. 2 You have to fill out COVID paperwork before your visit, ok. They will tell you they will email said paperwork. When you call to check said appt/reservation you will be asked if you have filled out such paperwork, no because you didn't receive it. Then they proceed to chastise you because YOU didn't call to REMIND them to email you the paperwork? Wait WHAT? 3. Please don't call this business to schedule anything since all of their pertinent information you will need is posted on their website and there front door. Apparently they can't give the correct information on the phone. 4. Here's the kicker.........when you do happen to call and speak to the owner, yes the owner, you are speaking to a 4 year old who would rather have a lollipop than make good on a sad situation. She is blinded by serving the customer and ranting on and on how WE don't understand her way of business. Well lady all of your 5 star reviews have to have been paid for. I recently hurt my back while working in the yard (who hasn't right?) After 2 weeks, the pain was still there even after daily at-home treatments. My birthday was approaching so I decided this was the perfect excuse and time to treat myself! Once again, Yelp came through for me! I found Bebe and after exploring her website, decided to go see her. Let me start by saying, when I called to make an appt., she went out of her way to accommodate my schedule. I live in Garland (45 min.) away. When I discovered that she gives facials too, I decided to treat myself to both (even though I had a facial scheduled with another technician at a another spa) I would also like to mention that I spent 10 years as an esthetician working with and getting massages on a regular basis for relaxation but this was the first time I was in actual pain before getting one. When I met Bebe, I could tell immediately that she genuinely loves to help and heal others. Her massage was not JUST a massage. I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing during my session with her. She goes above and beyond to make sure your mind is just as relaxed as your body. She transitioned seamlessly into my facial and speaking from 10 yrs experience, she not only gave a great facial (with extractions), but is knowledgeable about skin and natural products. The next day,my pain was completely gone. I had forgotten what it felt like to be pain-free! I wish I could give her 10 stars. I always thought massages were something you get on your birthday or special occasion but after my experience with Bebe, I discovered the difference between semi-relaxing massages and healing, therapeutic, my-battery-is-100%-charged kind of massage.
