They have cancelled my appointments 2 times in one week! The first time was because they had to do maintenance on the BBL machine ( 2 days before my appointment) the second time was an hour before I left my house for my appointment! ( sick child - which I totally understand that cannot be helped) but two weeks in a row is ridiculous, especially when I have taken off work for both of them! read more

I love this spa! It's close by my house, in the neighborhood but it also has a cozy feel to it. You get greeted by friendly staff, and the massage therapists are wonderful. I really enjoy the steam room after a massage, and they have both a steam & hot sauna. If you enjoy going with a group, this place is on the smaller side but if it's just you and one other, there's more than enough room! The only downside is they don't have a membership program, so you miss out on subscribing to a massage place like other spas. read more

BEWARE - The one owner of Spa Vela, Luane McWhorter, was the former owner of Grand Spa in Addison. The Grand Spa closed down without notifying its dedicated clients. Many, including myself, lots hundreds in gift cards. A business owner who does not give its clients notice of an impending closure is purposefully trying to scam its customers who had gift cards to use. To me, this is not how you conduct business or treat clients. To me, this is shameful and dishonest. I would never ever give this place any business. read more

I went for a one hour body polish wrap and it was glorious. I was greeted and shown where I change into a fresh robe & slippers and rest with fruit water until my appt. The polish was a combination of massage and skin care and I felt so pampered. After I was done I enjoyed a nice steamroom and used the lotion in the locker room changing area. I am profoundly disappointed and angered by the services provided by this spa. Jan. 13th I initially came in for Botox. When I scheduled this appointment, I was told by the receptionist a nurse would be calling me the day prior to clear me for services and that I should arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived 40 minutes early and to my surprise, no nurse contacted me. As I was filling out the paperwork in the waiting room the receptionist said the nurse was trying to call me while I was sitting there. I had my phone right in front of me and there was another woman sitting there as well and we both looked at each other because my phone never rang, and yes, the ringer was on and up. The receptionist then asked if I would call the nurse and answer the questions. Given it was another woman in the lobby it didn't seem too terrible, but the fact is HIPPA is in place for a reason and privacy is to be respected. I still have lots of movement in the areas where botox was injected, and the area I let the nurse know was the main point of concern. During this Jan. 13th visit, I explicitly discussed my concerns and targeted areas. The suggestion was made that a consultation with Lauren Adamson for skin pen/microneedling might benefit the areas of concern, specifically the 11 and jaw area. Subsequently, I scheduled a consultation with Lauren for Jan. 16th. Following this consultation, Lauren recommended an Ener peal and microneedling. Before leaving on Jan. 16th, I scheduled my Ener peal for Jan. 23rd and the microneedling for Feb. 1st. I was called multiple times the your spa on Jan. 30th in voice messages stating that I was late for my appointment, another asking if I was still coming, and the final telling me that Lauren had to put someone else in my place because I 'no showed.' I made the appointment for Feb. 1st and it was written on a business card by the receptionist. I also sent Lauren a text message to confirm this appointment given all the screw ups so far and she confirmed it. Lauren assured me that she would formulate a treatment plan and provide recommendations. Additionally, I was supposed to receive care instructions, both of which were never delivered. Concerned about my skincare products, I messaged Lauren via text on Feb. 1st seeking clarification. While she provided some information, it fell short of what should have been communicated, particularly considering I had emphasized my lack of experience with such treatments. On Feb. 1st, I inquired about the treatment recommendation plan via text, to which Lauren responded that she would provide it the next day. Almost two weeks later, I have yet to receive anything. Despite reaching out to Lauren again on Feb. 13th via text at 9: 30 am and later calling the spa at 1:13 pm, where Christie, claiming to be the spa manager, assured me Lauren would contact me after lunch or at least before she leaves, I still have not heard from anyone as of 8 pm on Feb. 13th. Before considering posting on yelp, I waited all day after I sent this to the spa the night of Feb. 13th-Feb. 14 to hear from someone and still nothing. Having invested over $1,000 in less than a month, I find it utterly ridiculous to be treated this way, especially considering the substantial financial commitment I've made and you have a cash cow sitting here. Regrettably, I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this spa to anyone. I am diverting my clients elsewhere and sharing my experience to shed light on the poor management and customer care exhibited by this spa. This is an unfortunate end to what could have been a long-term relationship. read more

15 sessions of laser therapy and still not done. The first laser tech did not know what she was doing - I had no results. I was offered a 10% discount after being a loyal customer. They lost me and don't care about their customers- just money. A small reasonable discount on additional sessions could have prevented this. read more

I came in to get a massage and body polish for my birthday. The facility is super clean and really pretty. The lady at the front desk was really sweet and helped show me around. Madison did my services and was amazing! Going back just to see her. I've been looking for a new masseuse since moving here and am super happy that I found a great one. I would highly recommend the body polish, my skin is so smooth and feels really refreshed. The massage was great, and Madison made sure to work on my focus areas and did a fantastic job. I was drugged during my massage here on 5-21-23 with Kandee. You never expect to be drugged when going to a spa. This was the worst Mother's Day gift. I had signed up for a 1 hour, deep tissue massage. I requested the use of the chest pillow because I'm nursing my infant & it is too painful to lie flat on my stomach. The massage therapist, Kandee, & I discussed this beforehand, so she was well aware that I was a nursing mother. She decided to give me CBD oil in my massage session without my consent. It was never brought up until I went to check out & pay. She told me she had given me CBD & changed my deep tissue massage to a "therapeutic massage," which would be a $10 upcharge. Again, no consulting me about this either beforehand; she just went ahead & did it. This is wrong on so many levels! I am still so outraged! As I was driving home, I knew I should not be driving. The CBD affected me tremendously. I got home as quickly as possible, took multiple showers trying to get the oil off, but it continued to affect me the entire rest of the day. Thank God my husband was home to help with our infant & take over things for me because I was useless the rest of the day. I fought the urge to sleep all day. I felt absolutely terrible. I did not dare drive anywhere else, despite needing to. This ruined my entire day. It did not wear off until after 9:30pm! I have never taken CBD in my life, nor do I ever plan to again!! It was terribly awful!!! Drugging anyone, especially a nursing mother, without their consent is wrong on so many levels!!! This was not a rookie masseuse; Kandee said she has 23 years of massage experience. No excuse as to why she thought this was okay or a good idea. She should be fired & her license taken away! read more
